Traders Unite! Please log issue with Frontier's issue tracker

Traders who use galmap commodity price search know that it is frequently out of date, wrong, and sometimes will fail to update. I went trading with a friend and his prices were different than mine, so something weird is going on with commodity price updates in the galmap. There are a couple issues logged in the issue tracker that describe the same issue. Traders, please go to the issue tracker, log in, and contribute. The more people that log this issue the greater chance FDEV will acknowledge the problem and it may finally get fixed.

This issue has five people confirming it so far. We need more:

See here, only four markets in galmap data, yet there are seven carriers in the system.

Left my feedback, I remember being very frustrated when attempting to use the GalMap for finding FC goods on a previous trading CG at Coalsack. Even with the third party websites it's still not a 100% science due to how the journal/data feeding works. My best bet was looking for traders in discord servers announcing about it, but I don't think there's going to be a lot of attention outside of a CG.

On that traders united note... the same update that broke the PWA also broke the left/right hand panel navigation while the commodity market is open. While they fixed the PWA a few months later, this issue of ours still remains unfixed despite being probably a much easier fix. There's an existing confirmed report at https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/19517 for those who would like to test it for yourself and contribute with a vote/confirming the issue.

It's only happened to me once in the past few weeks, and I can't be sure if I left my game while busy with RL while at the commodity window when it occurred (as I've been doing that from time to time), so that may be why the prices were out of whack in my case. If I see it again and confirm that isn't the case, I'll be happy to join on the issue tracker.

It's a shame, since it feels this is how the issue tracker works. If your activity isn't one of the mainstream ones that'll get voted highly up, it feels like you'll never be able to even push it into confirmed status, much less an actual fix.

To be fair, if we consider consider data travelling at speed of light it would take years to update commodity prices between star systems, then it makes sense asking commanders to do data courier missions which would update the market prices. So if last data courier mission happened 3 days ago, prices would reflect that.

Yeah. I've seen this issue discussed in the forums before but the problem is that some people just won't take the time to log in and help confirm it in the issue tracker. I'm very thankful for the people who did take the time to help confirm the issue. We just need a few more!
