Earth-like and ammonia world in same system

I just discovered a system with both an earth-like and an Ammonia-world in it.
Their peaceful co-existence is over, humans are on their way..

Unfortunately I can't discover where my screenshots are saved, so can't post the pics to prove it.

I think I found a WW and Amonia in same system too. This was my firsy tagged Amonia world. For some reason they are as rare to me like ELW so I had only recently discovered one untagged. Definitely a nice found. regarding screenshot location, i cannot suggest as I'm not at my PC but definitely google can helo you.

They are in Users/[username]/My Documents/My Pictures/Frontier Developments/Elite Dangerous.

Also, nice find! Both being in the same system is much more rare than either of them on their own.

@ Oggy85: overall, ammonia worlds are a bit more common than Earth-likes. But if you stick to systems which are more likely to have ELWs, then those are less likely to have AWs. Same the other way around - which is also why having both kinds in the same system is rare.

Thanks,

I found only 3 very old screenshots in that folder, now it's putting them somewhere else..
Anyways, I haven't turned in the cart data yet, so keeping the location a secret until I do, might even be the way to go.

Here is one such system i have found. ELW and Ammonia world only 200ls away from each other, if i remember it correctly.

Pretty rare have to say.

Much more rare than that, as ELWs that are moons of gas giants are extremely rare. I only know of three so far. If you have tagged it already, could you post the location, and a screenshot of the ELW's system map info?

Not yet tagged, heading to BP, very slowly, so it wont be any time soon.

Here's a system with an ELW and AW. Also, the AW is a moon (of a HMC planet). Not seen many of those. There's also two water worlds in the system.

And here's another system with an ELW and AW:

Here are an Earthlike moon and an Ammonia moon in the same system.

I'm pretty sure I have a Earthlike\Ammonia binary pair, but the screenshot I have makes me unsure if the brown one is ammonia. I'll have to verify when I get home.

Edit- Nope the binary pair was an Earthlike and a brown HMCW. Boo.

That's a decent find cmdr, + Rep. Iv stumbled across an ELW & Ammonia world in the same system on this trip too, but I'm not into snapping piccy's of my travels or noting & recording ELW's anymore. I done a lot of that in the past though.

I'm also heading for BP, we may meet somewhere along the way if you're flying in the Fleetcomm group mode.

apologies for resurrecting the old thread but I just foud an eathlike, ammonia ad water wold in the same system - been here since fist beta and don't remember seeing this before - anyone know of others?

In my ED7K survey, I surveyed 7000 star systems, 1000 of each star class from B to L. Found 70 Earth-like worlds in that survey. Of those 70 worlds, only one was found in the configuration described here: Thraikoo LQ-X d1-1, which has one terraformable water world, one ELW and one ammonia world - planets 3, 4 and 8, respectively.

I only found one other system which had an ELW-AW combination (without the waterworld): Lychoitl II-V c18-500

Which makes sense, from a purely statistical point of view. Looking at the overall statistics, the probability of hitting an ELW in my survey was precisely 1 in 100. The probability of hitting an Ammonia World was 1 in 69. The probability of hitting a Water world was much higher, at about 1 in 10. The odds of getting all three at once? Simply multiply the odds together: 1/10 x 1/69 x 1/100 = a 1 in 69000 chance. So finding one in just 7000 samples was pretty lucky. I'm sure @Orvidius or someone else can come up with data crunched from EDSM to get more accurate statistics from a much larger sample size.

Of course, you can boost your odds of finding these rare combinations by being more discriminating with your star class filtering. You can increase your chances to about 1 in 10000, just by filtering for A and F class stars.

Sol?

I know this might not be the most common thing to find in game but, you know we have that in our local system IRL right?

Well, no, we don't. Sol system IRL has, by ED's definitions, one Earth-like world, but no other water worlds and no Ammonia worlds. Europa and the other moons suspected of having subsurface oceans are not "water worlds" because the water is not liquid-surface water. And Titan is not an Ammonia world, it's a "Methane world" - a hydrosphere which was formerly represented in the prequel games but is not currently in ED.

system is some 20,000LY out - will provide the name once I cash it in. EDDiscovery says that I've visited around 11,000 systems - found lots of each individually and quite a few multi WW systems, this one put a smile on my face, though.

I'm sure I've found one system with all 3 (AW, ELW & WW) present, because I've bookmarked it. :)

I think I'va also found a couple of AW / ELW combos, but would have to trawl my screenies and/or run an Elite Observatory query to pinpoint them.

just found another paired ww / aw and another with elw / water giant next door - think I'll stop to explore this area a bit more.....
