Hi there
This mod has been a lifesaver on my eyes, great work!. Im posting regarding a issue in having with version 1.5. i used version 1.4 with no issues at all, everything functioned just perfect i uninstalled the old version via the bat file before installing 1.5. the issue im having is that nightvision is not working at all in this new version, i press the button and everything stays dark, i thought it was user error so i played with all the functions to see if it was just a setting. i did not touch the ini file at all this is on a fresh install. after a hour or so of frustration i decided to uninstall and go back to 1.4 which works perfect. any quick fixes for this or is it just bad luck.
Hmmm that's very interesting, I wonder why that particular shader isn't working. Ok there's two approaches .. first we could try to fix the issue, or second just disable that shader completely
If you'd like to try and fix it, I think the problem would most likely stem from the following sources (based on helping many CMDRs over the past 6 months):
- non default
GraphicsConfiguration.xml (restore via the ED Launcher, Options menu, Validate Game Files). Note: This will delete all mod files as well!
- non default
GraphicsConfigurationOverride.xml in folder:
AppData\Local\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options\Graphics
Check what's inside, move it to a backup folder if it's not empty.
- use of ED Profiler to manage graphics settings. About 5 CMDRs have reported they couldn't get the mod working correctly while ED Profiler was adjusting their settings, and then the mod worked with it uninstalled. Plus they also had to do the next fix:
- resetting the Graphics folder in the hidden AppData folder:
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options\Graphics
You can reset this Graphics folder non-destructively by putting a dash (-) in front of the folder name. Then when you load Elite it will recreate a fresh Graphics folder (and you can easily revert to the old folder .. exit Elite, delete new Graphics folder, remove dash from old Graphics folder, run Elite). Pics below
Disable the folder
Then when you run Elite
If that doesn't work, or sounds like too much trouble, then just delete or disable the night vision shader:
- Go into the ShaderFixes folder (in the elite-dangerous-64 folder)
- put a dash (-) in front of: -0f2b92ba5625c61f-ps.txt or just delete it
When you next load Elite you'll have the default Elite night vision
Please let me know how it goes
