Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

I don't usually search for SC in YouTube, I just noticed, at least with my phone, now, for SC videos, some of the titles (from the bigger SC YouTuber accounts) of the videos are now auto translated to my native language, I guess this is a new YouTube thing, but I noticed it's not that common for other games. I certainly almost never seen it for Elite dangerous videos even by major elite dangerous youtubers like obsidian ant, yamiks etc.

2ndly, a more peculiar one, when I searched for Elite dangerous videos, for some time I've seen that in the list of "people also searched for" the name SC came first.

But if I did the same for SC, the name Elite Dangerous doesn't even come up on the list.

This tell me that either SC get preferential treatment by YouTube algorithm because it has bigger audience (nonsense right? judging by the actual player base count) or CIG put more money to influence YouTube.

What they claimed years ago about where they would put their received money at again? Yeah, lol.

Saw this on a discord and immediately thought of Star Citizen.

There are paid for ads on Google if you search for star citizen.

Yeah, 100% of funding is not going to development. But we've known that for a long time.

Well yes but this YouTube endorsement thing is pretty new I think, I cut my ties to them financially in 2017, and I still get mad whenever I discovered this kind of new lies, deceptions and scammy behaviors they displayed everywhere.

I hate this sort of crap, like needing to drink and eat, whats the point? pointless mechanic that's more annoying than anything.

Please no one give Chris the idea that players need to take a shower and a dump every day.
Welcome in Chris' Wonderland! Hang on tight on your rose tinted eyeshields if you want to keep on the tracks: this is just a glimpse of the rollercoaster of the fantasies dream.txt is made of.

Too late for that buddy.

How can you enjoy the game if you do not understand its most important principle - fideliciousnesitivity? The (almost) monthly Squadron 42 updates are comedy gold, especially given the context of Answer The Call 2016.

I wonder how glossy the toilet and its contents are going to be. Will there be player interaction with toilet content? There must be a reason for the mop+bucket, right?

I thought ships travelled different speeds in QT depending on the drive they have installed. How are they staying close to each other?

Crobbers was reading about Einstein's special relativity so he invented Robertstein's special pipeline dilation.
Strangely enough, the latter is also a physical condition experienced in his presence.
(I'll see myself out... again)

Took a dive into Spectrum and the debates over PvP are still raging. Its been a hot topic for a while and i guess the sides are now becoming more partisan. As usual, when you have PvP in a game with PvE activities it leads to these sorts of debates.

Unlike many online games though, a lot are putting faith in CIG's ability to keep control over griefing and ganking when there are no mechanics like PvP flags, separate PvP servers, or modes.

And like in such games, one group or the other are not going to get the game they wanted.

In ED its the PvEers who got the game they wanted as they are free to use any mode without restriction, while the PvPers continue to bemoan modes.

Time will tell which way CIG will swing in relation to this issue, although from what i've seen, I don't think it matters where CIG's preferences lay, i think they will deal with it incompetently and overall the PvPers will get what they want (intentionally or not). SC is going to be a gankers paradise i think.

On to some other amusing topics

LOl nope. Pretyt much as stanton gets fleshed out so do the other systems to make sure there no issues with them.

They really think CIG are working on 110 systems in parallel and once the appropriate magic tech arrives those systems will magically appear in game???

Oh my god... they do. Same poster

i personally dont care when. Just that them saying it being worked on proves something i had lurking in the back of my mind for ages which is every star system is worked on but some have higher priority then others.

And another poster...

I agree. I can wait as long as it takes. 5, 10, 20 years ? It doesn't matter since this will be the next gen game to revolutionise the gaming industry!

Do they even think about what they are saying? Or they just brain vomit all over their keyboard?

A clear case of believing whatever CIG say

That would be great.
We have stanton now.
We know pyro getting close to ready.
If nyx is almost ready as well maybe they will add it as well soon.
But if Nyx gets added it will not take to much to add odin because we know most of that is done for SQ42.
No, we don't know that at all.

Personally I just want to be shown something that we're actually going to get in < 3 years after we see it.

And someone who isn't really aware of CIG's past efforts

Based on their wording of the following: "It promises to be out of this world, or perhaps out of this system…", I suspect it'll be the reveal of Pyro and jumpgates, which is cool, but not something I get excited about because I don't play right now.

But CIG have shown off jumpgates in the past (twice, the first time in 2015/2016?) and shown off bits and peices of Pyro before as well.... none of it means any of it actually exists in a state ready to be included in the game, and in some cases never arrives (eg: Sandworm).

Can't say there was any partisanity in SWtoR. You have to shove the PvP into the PvE-players faces to have that. But why would anybody want so?
