General / Off-Topic The Covid vaccine must be mandatory ?

That was the general believe last year, when every one thought that Vaccine would stop the spread of the virus. But once vaccine test came out, they showed that they don't stop the spread, so vaccinated people would still get infected, but they just won't end up in hospital as often.
So you can't achieve herd immunity with this Vaccines. And virus mutations would eventualy make this vaccine less usefull, as the virus have clearly showed it's smarter than the governments policies it is fighting against.

Vaccines do stop the spread.

Nope.
Four months after the Food and Drug Administration authorized the first vaccines against COVID-19, the CDC has enough data to suggest the vaccines substantially reduce infections—and therefore reduce the possibility of a vaccinated person infecting others.
Preliminary information from Israel found people who received the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine did not develop COVID-19 symptoms or transmit the disease, according to a Pfizer statement released March 11.

“It looks like 90% reduction in asymptomatic transmission. So that’s really good,” Hotez said when the data was made available.

🇹🇹We had around 80 thousand vaccine doses. Got 41,500 doses out, and are holding the remainder for second doses. The fact that they're opting not to do 80 thousand first doses and then get new ones strongly illustrates the estimates the government has regarding supplies. So for now, no more vaccination down here.

The Indian situation is an eye opener for any country that thinks they have this under control.
Projections now put mid-May as the expected peak, at 500 to a mind boggling 900 thousand cases daily. It probably will not get worse than this for the remainder of the pandemic. You know the virologists were always the weedy guys in glasses at the back of the room. Now everybody is listening to them.

One of our guys left the centre and is heading back into India now. No vaccine. He has family there. Should have given him our home oxygen concentrator. But we might end up needing it here.

Don't know how you all feel after getting vaccinated. After MMR, I became much calmer and shrugged off low risk situations. Now, there's a real sense of detachment from the crisis. It's happening to "other people".
This is the kind of feeling that preceeds a kick in the pants when reality decides to intrude.

You have to watch for that, I keep reminding myself even though I'm vaccinated I can still catch it if I'm unlucky or overexposed and can certainly carry it around on my skin and spread it around. So I never cut corners on the hand washing/PPE even if I'm knackered, feeling pretty immune and my hands look like they've been mummified and sanitizer is like pouring lemon juice on a hundred papercuts.

CDC also advised not to use Masks in the first few month of the pandemic, when it actually matter. Making sure the virus spreads among the general population, and of course they will be 100% behind vaccine now cause that's billion dollar industry now.

As i said earlier Virus is smarter than people, it will keep on infecting Vaccinated people adapting to it, than mutating to resist the Vaccine all together. You can not achieve herd immunity with this fast-food vaccine.
Too soon people are dropping their guard, eager to get back to 2019 lives. If they keep on dropping lockdowns and travel restrictions because of Vaccine, we will be back with the next Covid wave in Autumn-December - as virus would have enough time to mutate to resist the Vaccine.

Early anti-mask advice was a pragmatic effort not to have to compete with the public to buy PPE after making a pigs ear of pandemic preparations directly against the scientific advice. It was short sighted, dishonest, killed people and set up problems for later. It wasn't a fiendish plot though.

Never ascribe to malice that which is adequately explained by incompetence.

PPE supply contracts going to companies they just set up for themselves with grant money they provided themselves is a different kettle of deeply corrupt fish.

Vaccines do stop the spread and were thoroughly tested.

No matter how many times you will keep on repeating that, it won't make it true. Cases are higher now that during Winter Wave, Deaths are catching up. Vaccination began 5 month ago, and yet we are in the bigger wave than we were before. Keep on believing your mainstream media propaganda, it's your life.

It is true. We've actually had some vaccine rollout success here in the UK and infections, hospitalizations and deaths are thankfully plummeting.

Regardless, it is still an estimation.
No, that’s a reality. The figures for the crematorium and the government are several light years apart.

Yes, you can still be infected with Covid even if you are vaccinated, and transmit this infection to other people who are also vaccinated.

In fact there are two types of contamination. Deep contamination in the lungs and contamination in the nasal cavity.

And for the nasal cavity, at the moment there is no treatment.

The vaccine predominantly prevents severe cases and deaths, experts say, and mainly on the original Covid and the English variant.

For other current and future variants, the question is much more complicated.

Impressive figure but to relate to the population of this country (1.3 billion inhabitants).

I am even surprised by the "low" number of daily deaths which finally corresponds to the daily number of deaths in the United States and Brazil a few weeks ago and which are much less populated.

In France we have 30,000 to 40,000 cases every day for 67 million inhabitants

So countries like the USA, Brazil or India are not in exceptional situations compared to our "small" countries.

Do you live in a large urban center ?

You seem to live in terror and permanent psychosis. Try to think of something else from time to time ?

For my part, I live relaxed in relation to the pandemic.

It is true that I am very careful (mask and barrier gestures) and that I do not live in a very populated place.

I`m not sure whats being driven at here - Modi`s government is dysfunctional at best and certainly veers towards authoritarianism. Of course they have been guilty of downplaying things, that's how authoritarian governments work. Look at the Trump administration.
I agree with you.
