Ahahah exactly the very same thing.
Yay, a new open only powerplay supporter!I would even welcome that. Because it would very quickly put an end to all this speculation and finally provide proof of how impossible this idea really is. Something that everyone could then see. It would shut you up very brutally. Bring it on!![]()
A supporter anyway.Believe it or not, in this sense I always was an Open PP supporter. Not new at all. Admittedly, a pretty evil supporter...
Indeed - we all have opinions, even if they are not the same ones.Yup, in your opinion. And this is veeery important.
I would decide what I was going to do if and when it happened, not before.Question: let's say tomorrow Powerplay becomes open. Would it be that terrible? Would you stop to play the game?
So you will stay. At least you are not some of the people claiming you would drop the game.Indeed - we all have opinions, even if they are not the same ones.

Ah you're confusing things: I just asked you politely to stick to the technicalities in the other thread. This is a pure open vs pvt/solo madness-thread. We are in topic in here.I am well aware that I support these ideas simply by participating in these threads. As much as you would like to see me disappear, without any opposition these threads would dry up in no time. Because you guys are just going around in circles. I've seen this happen a few times on other controversial topics. It's always the same: the fanatics actually believe that if they just whine long and persistently enough, they'll finally get what they want. So far, it has never come true.
Dude are you even reading me or just trying to flame? The problem is that you can't separate the two, unless you want to discuss in a totally abstract unicorn world.
Hold on, patch news are out...
Well problems could happen. But could be solved to.Is this still going? Look, nothing can ever be Open-only, for a simple reason. The instant there's something in Open you can't get from any other mode, a soloish player has an incentive to play in Open but block and relog every time he sees a hollow square. It wouldn't take many people doing that to completely massacre everyone's instancing. I can only hope FD aren't daft enough to wreck their game like that.
Well yes. I just talked about how things could be. Not good.Well problems could happen. But could be solved to.
Like the inability to block other pledged CMDRs for example.
Again: we know how things are right now. Can we talk about how things could be?Far more interesting.
Like the inability to block other pledged CMDRs for example.
Wow a brand new account with just one message and it's in this thread. Not suspicious at all.I'm relatively new to the game, just over 200 hours. I play PP in solo because I get a kick out of the meta. I'm not serious about it yet because I have no clue how it works other than getting a bit of cash for distributing some pamphlets. So, yeah, I would be highly annoyed if suddenly they told me I had to play in open if I wanted to keep doing PP. Just like I would be angry if they told me I had to play in open if I wanted to haul freight. I paid the same price for my game as everyone else, I get the same access.
And, no, the fun of PP is not the risk of getting attacked. That's the same people spew about piracy, that it makes hauling "fun". Such unmitigated arrogance, thinking your idea of fun is the only valid way. I play solo because I genuinely don't like people. I don't want constant chatter on my message screen, I don't want to join a discord, I just want to fly around and play my own way. This thread basically explains why I feel the way I feel... too many zealots convinced the world will be perfect if everyone would just follow their One True Path. Me playing in solo in no way effects your ability to do what you want in open. So quit trying to effect how I do things in solo.
I don't think anyone claimed it made it fun. It just makes it fair. Powers vs powers is what powerplay is. But people hide in solo, makeing it hollow and unfair.I'm relatively new to the game, just over 200 hours. I play PP in solo because I get a kick out of the meta. Yup and you are just trying to flame in here.Weren't we trying not to be personal? But no, it's you, that's something entirely else, of course. Ever heard of double standards? All I see from you here is how you try to mob any form of opposition from the thread.
And now it's even getting conspiratorial. Are you really already so screwed up that you have to use such rotten tricks?
Luckily, it's not up to you to decide what's fair and what's not, or who gets to say what and where.
The fact that players in Solo and Private Groups affect the game, just as players in Open affect the game, should come as no surprise to those who have undertaken some small amount of research into the game, or even just read its advertising. You folks still didn't manage to explain me (well, us actually) how nobody didn't come to understand (or is ignoring deliberately) that pvt and solo heavily affect open gameplay, making pvt/solo a forced choice if somebody wants to compete for his Power.
While the absence of other players can make engaging in particular game features more efficient in Solo and Private groups (due to the lack of interference from other players), the other players that may want to interfere with any player's game don't have a say in the matter - each player's choice as to which game mode to play has precedence - which means that PvP opposition is entirely optional. In that case all modes are not equal if private and solo are more efficient in grinding merits for example, because of PvP opposition, making Open Play not quite equal to the other modes.
Again with the usual broken record, and no, I am not surprised, I am just trying to make you understand that the "all modes are equals" is simply some false thing people against anything Open Only usually repeat continuously. The fact that players in Solo and Private Groups affect the game, just as players in Open affect the game, should come as no surprise to those who have undertaken some small amount of research into the game, or even just read its advertising.

Ahahah there's a lot of PvP in the forums, that's right. And a lot of ganking and cheating too.because it being pan-modal generates a nice forum engagement for FDev![]()
