Y'know... While I'm of the opinion that there is no reason to not believe the devs when they tell us something about the game they made, in this instance there are just too many hardcore players in this community to believe that not a single person would have found an SCP in the last 2 weeks, so when Zac says "...many players..." when actually its "ALL players" are having trouble finding it, you create a situation where people who normally do not believe in tinfoil conspiracies--e.g. like deliberate throttling of player progression without telling the player base--start to doubt and consider the possibility.
Heck I'd even say it be a better thing if the devs came out and said "Hey guys, something broke, my bad, we'll fix it soon" even if it wasn't actually broke but just poorly implemented. Here not only do you waste people's time who believe you and keep looking, but you sow doubt about honesty.
The only fix is that we are told roughly what it is that one needs to do to find one of these, and the moment a single player finds one and reports it (before the next patch), all ill-will and doubts about honesty are mitigated (it won't ever go away, the damage tends to be permanent in a way)
Edit: I guarantee you, the moment you toss us a bone, someone WILL find it very quickly; this community is pretty amazing that way

also emphasis on "before the next patch", we've already been effectively told that 'everything's fine, its all working, just the difficulty setting is alittle high is all', and this is damage control for that statement.
