Elite being peer to peer based and given how unreliable UPnP protocoles are (given the tons of router types and private network settings out there) those difficulties are not too likely to disappear no matter how efficient the code is.As has been pointed out, I am definitely there for 4-multicrew but for the love of god PLEASE make sure the experience is stable when doing that. It's so frustrating right now to have my friends Orange Sidewinder or get caught in the infinite blue tunnel when I jump to another system or attempt to glide down
AMD FSR seems to be just one more element of all this. The improvements to the planet tech are good. The same goes for the larger module storage and the increased number of bookmarks.
But ... AMD's FSR doesn't do me any good and, in my opinio, it's the wrong approach to fixing the performance issues. Even with the current down sampling technology rendering in 1080p (I'm playing on a 4k screen) there are still settlements and lounges where I barely manage to get 60 FPS on the "Low" preset (with AMD's CAS disabled) on a 2080TI. Other places run at 98 FPS (monitor's frequency with G-Sync) with the graphics card almost falling asleep. At some point I might test what frame rates I get without capping it with G-Sync. Nvidia's DLSS wouldn't help with this either.
I'll give it a test, when the update was deployed, but I suspect, you're not done yet. I do hope you are though.
3. FPS performance in Odyssey
- Further improvements and optimisations have been made which will be deployed in Update 6. Significant work is underway to improve this further.
You accidentally forgot to mention the addition of the Morray Starboat again. I forgive you. My credits are ready!
Sadly port forwarding doesnt help enough as it still disconnects often during jumps. Yes weve both checked and it is indeed setup properly. Maybe its just because we live on different continents.Elite being peer to peer based and given how unreliable UPnP protocoles are (given the tons of router types and private network settings out there) those difficulties are not too likely to disappear no matter how efficient the code is.
In order to optimize and minimize connectivity issues in peer to peer games the best option is to try to implement port forwarding. Have a look at this thread: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threa...imizing-multiplayer-connection-issues.583861/
And if you want to give it a try and have questions post there so we can try and help.
Could be that indeed. If lag is too large between you both that may impact your experience either way. But assuming port forwarding is set up properly it should be as efficient, if not more, than a central server based game though. If you want to try and troubleshoot a bit more go ahead and post your details in that thread and see if we can help.Sadly port forwarding doesnt help enough as it still disconnects often during jumps. Complex craters (those with a central peak) are missing completely in Odyssey, whereas they were a thing in Horizons. How many types of craters do you need? When I look at the moon, I see that lots of craters look very similar... some are bigger, some are smaller... but that's it... What types of features would you like to see on crater diversity?
I am on an ultra wide and not having any particular issues. The new map interface is great once you get used to it.This is coming from someone who really disliked the map interface as it was during the Alpha and launch, they are much better now. Unless you're talking about ultrawide support, then idk.
Same here.I am on an ultra wide and not having any particular issues. The new map interface is great once you get used to it.
Maybe a conga line in a really long Mamba?Leaving the kick to the groin levels of annoyance at Powerplay- what ships are going to get four seats I wonder?
Remember the Fed Dropship and Gunship need some love, since the Alliance counterpart(s) have more seats- Keelback?
Just please- please do not cram them into fighters or anything out of place. My brain still throbs from having a space superiority fighter (Vulture) as a dropship....when we have a ship called a Dropship thats for dropping troops.
This is the level of 'what the hell' I'm dreading. Consistency is not FDs strong suit and this idea (although good, if they can get the networking right) has massive palm into face potential. If I see four people crammed ultra kayak style in a Courier I'm gonna pop, but not in a cool way.Maybe a conga line in a really long Mamba?
