please lift the weekly cap on arks

hi this is for anyone in Fdev who is responsible for ARXs please can you lift the cap from 400 as it takes a loooooong old time to get what you want for your ship or weapon or space outfit.
I mean why 400 i do that in a couple of days just doing restore power or kill scavingers .
thats all i want to say oh and plus i will never buy arx not worth it .

Or in other words, they have no real incentive to give you more ARX. They are already giving you something for free that others will pay for to speed up. If you want your shinies that don't matter at all for what you actually can do in the game. Open that wallet.

heh, it adds up eventually..
I get my 400 within an hour every week...on several accounts.
I would prefer that they put some of the stuff back the way they once were. my first account I got entire paint packs cheap and great sale prices on simple stuff like engine color and weapons color..
I have also spent several thousand dollars to get all the stygian paint for all my fav ships, and kits.. which I won't do again.
But as for the prices currently.. why are the engine and pad colors so expensive for carriers? Bought a lot for my first carrier, all the others are plain Jane's, paint and colors are far too expensive for a carrier. they aren't rare. everyone has one..nearly, many of us have more than one...

and why are the engines and weapons so expensive for ships?
you can't buy anything at all from 1 weeks arx. and after saving for weeks, who wants to blow it on 1 color of something.
the vibrant colors are cheap, but still over 400. oh, decals are usually cheap though..more colored ones like Halloween ones are nice.
make it 400 a day and I can buy paint again.
for me its not even the price really, its more that frontier makes it very difficult for people not in the UK to use methods to pay.
So difficult and time consuming that I made it clear last time, that I won't buy from them till they make it easy...
Why any company wants to make it difficult for customers to pay for things is an art form I do NOT get.

Hey FDev, I want stuff for free, what little you give already isn't enough, I need more to make my ship all shiny. But I need it as fast as possible, cant be bored playing the game to get it. And forget any money, you won't see a penny from me. Man it up, and open the pockets.

That is just beautiful, thank you OP.

I think the up to 400ARX per week for playing is an excellent feature that they didn't have to offer at all. Of course I don't mind if that cap was raised, but given they could remove it I'm happy the way it is.

I do tend to try to reach the cap each week, easily done in the bubble, not always so easy out exploring. I sometimes think it would be nice to have it roll over into the following week if the cap wasn't reached (eg week 1 the player only earned 300ARX so the following week's cap is set to 500).

Thing is personally that does not work for me. I did dust off the cobwebs and open my wallet for some skins after we got SLFs as it looked like the 1st step for ship's crew (my mistake)

However I have not even bothered to equip some of them. Skins bought with cash mean absolutely nothing to me.

Paid cosmetics utterly guts so much gameplay from the game, back in the day skins were given for in-game tasks so it encourages you to play longer.
In elite D's case it could be getting allied with a faction gives a ship skin for that faction for instance (they could still sell premium skins if they must).

Back in elite 1st encounters (or was it frontier?) The 2nd hand shipyard had ships with various skins. Sometimes I would not buy a ship I wanted because it did not have the correct skin, so part of the fun was finding the right skin.

It is this reason why I preferred the Kickstarter extra funding method. Everything in game would be purchasable by in game credits BUT players would be able to buy a limited amount of credits with cash.
I get why some hated this but for me it was great. I think the game would have been better for this as FD would have kept an eye on the economy.

I mean, there is nothing a priori stopping that from being implemented apart from FDev. Nothing a priori stops paid cosmetics and gameplay earned cosmetics from coexisting. I have a couple of decals (some CG decals, all of the rank decals, and the Art of War decal), a paint job (Viper III Dolly Parton paintjob - not the real name, you get which I mean) and a bobblehead (Thargoid Interceptor bobblehead) that directly relate to stuff I did in game.

I agree it would be a nice touch if ranking up with Fed/Imp also granted access to some related paint jobs and/or decals for some selection of ships.

Why?

I mean, I guess it's fairly obvious why you like the idea of more free stuff but it'd probably be more useful if you could explain why they might want to give you more free stuff.

You can provide some explanation, right?

Also, starting a thread to ask for more free Arx and then saying you won't buy Arx cos they're "not worth it" is quite the paradox.

Nah mate, buying credits for cash is dumb.

Way to give an edge to the wealthier in life!

Skin microtransactions as is, are far better because they don't put the wealthier on some dumb advantage.

It's a game, we should not be encouraging ways to get around playing it, which is what cash for credits is.
