please lift the weekly cap on arks

Only 20 more weeks and I can buy a ship kit! Or I pay six bucks and have it now. It's just six bucks, right?
And that's how they make money.
To some perhaps. To others it is just a nice little extra compensation for supporting a game we like. I have bought ARX for that reason alone, the cosmetics were just a nice bonus. Remember, many similar games would come with subscription fees.

However, my wallet is currently closed for entirely different reasons (lack of VR on foot and the general state of Odyssey) that result in my will to support FDev being atrock bottom.

Stuphz is such a wide term old bean, what what

One does believe that it does not relate to actual stuphz, but any manufacturer of stuphz.

Tara per

You are bally well correct there old chap, but one is normally in the market for any old stuphz. I was mostly put off by it being welsh stuphz though, one expects you know what I am getting at?

I would not mind if they made the weekly limit just a bit higher. 400 tbh is a joke as I can accrue that much in a single session without even trying.

I don't think it should be unlimited, but their current limit does feel absurd imho.

Remove the store, make all cosmetics earned in game through missions, events, reputation, specifically finding something - gameplay.

Then release new expansion packs with high quality gameplay additions every 6-9 months.

Then none of the cosmetics stuff will affect the way the game gets developed - All good.

;)

The free ARXs exist to entice you to spend more. If you're not going to spend any money on microtransactions, Frontier have no incentive to give you any ARX.
They could make me feel so guilty buy bying ARX if they allowed us to wear EVERYTHING the NPCs wear. I don't understand why that's not an option. I want the Sarge's hat. I want those cool cyberpunk looking shades, not aviator frames that are in a what, 1300 year old style. Look at how varied NPC armor is in Odyssey. Allow me to look like them and FDev can have my money, I'll fling it at them like someone making it rain at a strip club.

But no. Best FDEV can do is repaint the same outfit 3 times and sell them all as seperate packs. HAHAHAHAHAHA NO.

And the ships, more paintjobs plz.

And the Odyssey weapons, can we have more than just things made to appeal to 12 year olds? Japanese style dragons on my guns, no thanks.

Guess they don't like money after all 🤷‍♂️

I think you misunderstand the purpose of those 400 ARX per week. The purpose is not to give people paint jobs, the purpose is to incentivise people to log in every week to boost player numbers.

Nah mate, buying credits for cash is dumb.

Way to give an edge to the wealthier in life!

Skin microtransactions as is, are far better because they don't put the wealthier on some dumb advantage.

It's a game, we should not be encouraging ways to get around playing it, which is what cash for credits is.
You missed my point. If people want to whale then let them whale, imo it's a crazy way to play a game (assuming we trust FD not to go overboard) But it was not what I would have been doing. If rich Jimmy wants to splurge that is his choice)
For decades games used skins as a hook for longer term game play.
I didn't like the Kickstarter plan because it allowed me to buy progress I liked it because it encouraged me to play the game by giving me in-game goals to earn shiny stuff, it would have given flavour to factions etc by them having their own cosmetics etc.
Also FD would have had to care about their economy because it is their economy which would have made them money on the side.
Elite for me has never been a competitive game
I wasn't speaking for anyone else and I understand why FD caved to demands of some players on this one... But for me the game would have been better allowing cosmetics earnable in games like games used to be.
I am not sure why that is dumb but what ever

That choice is dumb.

Let me be clear. Cash for credits is unpopular for a reason.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I seem to recall you saying that ED is the only online game you play, in the past? If so, do you see where I am going with this?

That choice is dumb.
How nice.
I play a lot of online games. You may be confused about me saying I don't generally play MMOs . The ones I do don't have PvP (neither does my elite dangerous) so cash for credits is no real issue. Eg war frame, destiny 2 I play sometimes.

So no I don't see where you are going with it however feel free to jog on.

Welsh or Yorkshire, all the same 🐒
Lol Cheshire lad here and whilst I don't mind paying for a product I do expect value for money and if I am gonna dip in and pay extra it really does have to be above and beyond.

I actually did go fairly big on ED (compared to other pc games I have bought) and even bought some skins back in the day, not because I wanted them but just as an approval for one of the DLCs. This was some time ago however and not felt the urge to do it since with ED

Never say never but am not confident I will again
