Why am I not at all excited? I'll just have to watch newbies getting all excited...the ones that haven't been in the PTU for the last 7 years or whatever it was :D

I'm going to shuffle the PTU Data.p4k file into live...save a few Gb of download.

Generally its not the case. It has been the case with CIG and it was the case with ED in the run up to Odyssey, although in the case of Odyssey, it was kind of the opposite. They initially said that the requirements for Odyssey wouldn't be much higher than for Horizons... but it turned out apparently a NASA supercomputer was actually required.

I'm not here to absolve FD or any other company of wrongdoing. This thread is about SC/CIG, where i'll happily dump on them. I can dump on FD in the ED threads ;)

I do have some small hope that FD can turn things around, and good news! I've basically convinced the family to give money for a "stupid" graphics card for my birthday. I might even get it early!

Let's face it what game Devs say is about as reliable as what a car sales person says about a car

But that isn't a Star citizen issue, David Braben, Chris Roberts, Peter Moleneux.all cut from the same cloth. (For the record David Braben was a childhood hero of mine thanks to Elite and instill really like the bloke now, but that does not mean you can rely on anything he says. I still love his talks tho)

Chris Roberts showed us sand worms and told us of 128 player flawless experiences And claimed S42 was playable start to end 5 years ago.

David Braben told us we would have a robust economy, big game hunting, and that planet surfaces.would be more than just height maps.... And would be constructed without repeating textures.

Exactly, different devs can be praised/criticized for what they have done and said. And here we can praise/criticize CIG for what they do and say. And there is this whole forum outside here where we can do the same for FD/ED/PC/JWE/etc.

Now when getting hot and sweaty with my lady peon commandos in the tub i won't be turned off by missing geometry!
