Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

Apparently you can just walk through the Prowlers drop-ship side doors.

Not sure if that's been fixed. (I'm guessing, like a lot of the 'looks cool, doesn't really do what it says on the tin, got nerfed after the sale' releases, nobody flies it any more ;))
I just wonder say game is all about fidelity, shouldn't those ships have both lockable doors AND some kind of ignition lock. You can't get car started even if you get inside....Even my scooter has ignition and steering lock.

There used to be all kinds of ways to glitch into ships. Not really a fan of that though, so not up to date one which ones are still glitchable.

Why am I not at all excited? I'll just have to watch newbies getting all excited...the ones that haven't been in the PTU for the last 7 years or whatever it was :D
Because you're an old grumpy forum-dad? Maybe you should play some NMS? Us newbies be like:

33 seconds if timestamp doesn't work.

Touring (what touring?), Exploration (what exploration?), Combat (yay, actually exists!), and now introducing long haul freight (LOL what? They just made that up! They haven't introduced jack schitt)

It needs to be stated, once again. This is an Alpha. This is not a video game. We are assisting CIG in testing.

You are a terrible gamer and a burden to all gamers. Oh look, a game dev companies slaps a sticker on a product "alpha" and like MAGIC they can do a terrible job of development. After 10 years the only thing still in alpha is CiG as a company.

Lol i am a Legatus backer and i am getting fed up waiting for this game. I am starting to see it as a endless alpha just to suck money from us.

haha, and @GreySix getting involved

Yeah, my guess is he wasn't aware this was an alpha. Good job reminding him.

:D

Isn't it funny how as soon as criticism is raised it becomes ITS ALPHA? As soon as its being praised, its the best game ever.

Why is it with every single online game someone wants fishing? When I was working on a NWN2 persistent world, people kept asking for fishing.

I literally did that for EotB 1 & 2. Good God, I just googled and that was 30 years ago.
Funny you should say that. I was chatting with a friend about dungeon master (my 1st "eye of the beholder" genre game on the Amiga (one of 2 games I bought my 512k upgrade for) on Thursday
Thursday night I started legend of grimrock which had been on my barely played pile.of.shame for almost a decade .

It's dungeon master / eye of the beholder in pretty much every way.

You claim the ship like people who bought ships with real money. You do not lose ships you by with in game money when you die.

For now there isnt really an insurance system that has any depth. All the ships have insurance.
I see, so if that is how it is, what is the big draw for specifying LTI for ships that are for sale?

But that isn't a Star citizen issue, David Braben, Chris Roberts,.all cut from the same cloth. (For the record David Braben was a childhood hero of mine thanks to Elite and instill really like the bloke now, but that does not mean you can rely on anything he says. I still love his talks tho)
I’m afraid Peter Molyneux is in a different bracket as he asked for backing for the PC game Godus with the later confessed intention of using it to learn how to create mobile games.

Naughty Peter.

He is not the 1st to use KSer cash to fund a different project and probably won't be the last

Godus aside I have enjoyed all the games he has been involved in despite them being a far cry from what he was going for, a bit like a few space games I can think of ;)

Eventually the insurance system will be more complex and you will have to pay to have your ship insured.

LTI ships will have some level of permanent "free" insurance.

As I recall the plan is to do it the other way from ED. In ED you're automatically insured, but you pay after death, whereas in SC you're not (unless you have LTI), you will pay insurance up front which covers you until death?

Imagine the salt when people forget to re-insure after death!
