I'm certainly considering Odyssey dead until I at least get my Iridium Gleam paint back. I'm hoping that will come after they've fixed the performance issues. :D
They will get there eventually - give it another 6 months or so and it may even be close to getting the lighting fixed (or at least having emissives emit!) - although I did reset the gamma in Odyssey this afternoon to 'recommended' settings (mine was too bright according to the logo settings) and my 'Lunar Hunter' Decals stopped being quite so washed out.

Yes, I suspect they will. Though personally I am expecting a longer timeframe (and hoping for shorter). So long as Horizons isn't merged until the issues are fixed, I don't mind. I'm looking forward to exploring in Odyssey. I think the new planets are great (a few issues still, but planets will also improve over time). I'm very much looking forward to being able to flyve over them.

And in the meantime, we also have cats. And pizza.

Several of my livestreams last week included rather a lot of flyve'ing - best way to spot bacterial colonies is to be 20 or so metres above the surface!

Yeah, this is where I stand too - I love EDH, and if EDO had never been released I'd be fine with that... however, once EDO is fixed, and I hope Ratty is right at about 6 months which was my mental timeframe too, I'll be really looking forward to the upgrade to EDO

Going by my own observations of the patch history of Odyssey there have only been minor performance gains (with the AMD software giving a noticable boost, but at the cost of clarity) so whatever is causing the real issues hasn't been properly dealt with yet, which is why I'm thinking another 6 months (as that would give a reasonable team of developers time enough to rewrite the rogue code, I hope!) to see noticable improvements.

Maybe the next patch is a doozy, who knows?

I was counting being mostly fixed around january-february next year.
We are in the same timeframe I think.

Yeah - you know, for all the complaining, I'm seeing some pretty nice screenshots dotted about. The EDO screenshots thread has some really gorgeous shots, and if they get the whole thing running like I think (hope?) it's capable of (and in VR!) then I think it will be stunning.... 🤞

My screenies are just records of the bodies I visit rather than 'cherry picked' awesome ones.
Whenever I get the suggestion of my 'picking the best' I like to suggest the poster watch some of my livestream landings - I have no idea how the body will look until I land!
The pure Ammonia atmospheres can be stunning, they are most often deep red if my memory serves me well.
