What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

Im back home after my holidays and did some work, as you can see. You guys might remember my planning of the asian area and i noticed three things:
1. I cant keep on track with my tasks
2. I wanted to include the pangolin
3. The tiger habitat next to it looks like trash and needs to be redone

But here we go with my little pangolin habitat! I really like it and its a good baby step towards completion of my zoo

I love what you've done with the fence!

The addiction is gripping me again and i shifted my attention to the colder climate region of my zoo.
Its at the same time, atleast from my perspective, quite good in its groundwork, but the habitats are mostly unfinished and unpolished.
Of the 8 (9 if i do still decide to build an aviary) habitats, only the reindeer was what i deemed finished, with the seals, wolfs and brownbear mostly done, while snowleopards and polarbears need major work and the dallsheep being halffinished, half not started.

Today i brought the not mentioned animal, the arctic wolf, up to the standard of the reindeers, by building them their shelter and detailing their habitat.
Its nothing special, but its now something i can live with. Defenetly better then an empty habitat.
I quite like the wolf signs though, eventhough i have 4 and not 3 wolfs.

But that was just about half the work i done, i finally started my work on the leopards, a task that was very daunting and that i absolutly did not shove away for like 3 months.
Their habitat will be parted into 3 parts, a cave, a rocky cliff and a foresty area. Today i started the work on the forresty area and i must say im quite pleased with myself.
Hopefully i will finish their habitat today or tomorow, while also doing some final touches for the brownbears, and im on a good track to actually start my new planned zoo next month.
wish me luck, cheers

Nothing--I've had a Planet Zoo equivalent of writers' block for quite a while and am also dealing with several other important things (moving soon, finishing up college, plus other hobbies that I'm currently prioritizing over PZ)--but I did come up with several themed areas that I'd like to do in my next full zoo, with flexibility depending on what animals might be released in the future. Redacted names because they're named after IRL family.

[redacted] Children’s Zoo:
Binturong
Fennec fox
Llama

Kruger Trek:
Hippopotamus
Plains zebra
Nyala
Sable antelope
White rhinoceros
Cheetah
African wild dog
Ostrich

Feline Foray:
West African lion
Spotted hyena
Siberian tiger
Jaguar

[redacted] Small Mammal House:
Aardvark
Meerkat
Chinese pangolin

Gingko Trail:
Giant panda
Red panda
Komodo dragon
Nile monitor (yes I know it isn't Asian but it goes with the Komodo dragon in a sub-area called Dragon's Den)
Gharial

I’m currently travelling and won’t get to play the game for a while. I hope I can remember how to work the controls…

I always have lots of ideas for zoos and am always making notes for possible projects. Recently I have been thinking of three different zoos:

1. a mountain zoo specialising in Nordic (hope we will get them one day) and cold climate animals in Norway.

2. a zoo in Sweden with a general collection focussing on large animals in open enclosures.

3. a smaller city zoo set in Denmark.

I couldn’t decide which to do so I thought whoever does best in the men’s Olympic handball will be the choice. Sweden were knocked out and Denmark just knocked out Norway this morning so a Danish city zoo will be my next project!
I made very detailed plans for this while I was travelling this summer. Annoyingly by mistake I put my notebooks into storage and won’t have access to them for a couple of months. I do have my laptop now but will have to work on something completely different for now. Any suggestions let me know!

I'm going to go a little bit off topic here because I need some feedback. Inspired by @KönigDerKaffeebohnen's thread about picking an animal for their zoo, I have an idea for a build challenge we could have here on the forums. I know CCs have them occasionally on their discords, but not everyone is active there, and what I have in mind is not a competition at all and it's more of a "drop in, drop out" kind of thing. No serious commitment, just for fun.

The idea behind it is to obviously have fun but to also see how differently we approach and build things with the same limitations. For example, each week we would vote for an animal and the limitations. We could have themed weeks. We would have 3-5 rules which would be based on the animal we are building for. - e.g 1. Barriers have to be custom; 2. Triangular shelter; 3. 800m2 size; 4. Only tropical foliage; and so on and so forth.

Just an idea. If it's something you guys would be interested in I could make a thread and get the whole thing going. :)

I think the idea is pretty cool!

Would we then all build a zoo in parallel with the same requirements for the enclosures?
Or just individual enclosures?
Would you then have to have time for every week? For example, I only play on Sundays, it is very seldom that I sit at my pc privately during the week because I've been hanging on the pc all the time in the office.

And someone would have to moderate and do the specifications right?

Yes, totally

I haven't played for a long time, but have been feeling like getting back in the game. Couldn't find any motivation for any of my on going projects, so I started something new (again). I will try to keep it as a small side project rather than a whole zoo, to see if I then manage to finish something for once.

The idea is a small area with aboreal living animals from more or less the same area of Asia. That way I can also finally get some use of the SEA pack.
The animals will be clouded leopard, binturong and red panda. Probably also free roaming peafowls.

This will be the entrance to the area. (Still need a name to put on the blank sign)
The architecture isn't really anything specific, but took some inspiration from a kind of house from Nepal. I quite like how it turned out.

The pole in the front will be attached to the red pandas climbing structure, so if you are lucky it will be welcoming you when you enter the area.

Hopefully this will not be just another unfinished business.
