lets assume it's not a mistake in updating the table ...which is a big assumption.
investigation could have two tiers, one where they investigate the ticket internally by reproducing the issue running internal builds and getting internal debugging output to create a development story / epic to send to development to work on .
Then they would investigate the actual cause of that issue in order to determine what needs to be fixed and then a story (or series of stories) can be created to fix the issue.

One of the top voted issues in the issue tracker is the one about automation in powerplay/BGS. It was voted by a big part of the PP/BGS community and they declined to even mention the issue despite it being near 4th place because they don't want to talk about it, because they have no intentions of adressing the issue.
Oh, that one, i missed it between the others, i guess they are blind to anything with powerplay in it too!
You can address it by making more complex gameplay- Powerplay specifically can be bot proof (or made to be very hard to automate) if FD tried and made PvE much less basic.
But this requires FD to update Powerplay....
Prioritizing simply based on those that vote in the issue tracker is problematic. F-dev needs another approach
I'm sure nobody would complain that Frontier are wasting their time adding minigames in taxis instead of fixing issues and adding depth to the game.
Doesn't matter what Frontier do, people will complain.
I didn't pay for it. Just waiting for the expansion to be properly released. Hence I am following its open beta development. Albeit slow, we are doing steady progress here so nothing to complain about for now.
I don't care how they address it, be it a gameplay rework, proper anti-cheat, bans to the known offenders, but what is incredibly disappointing is their decision to completely ignore a mention in this post, when this post was specifically designed to mention the top 20 voted issues in the issue tracker and this is like 6th or 4th place.

But why on earth would you make an issue report like this if you're going to cherry-pick the issues you want to mention? It's an insult to the PP/BGS community and everyone affected by this. Wouldn't surprise me if hundreds of players over the years have quit because of this one specific issue.
But we need more Alec Turner screenshots in the supercruise stream, that will solve the problem. I'm super done with this
It is sad that the issues were vetted.
Supercruise news was never meant to be a place to show things about the game's development. Its original purpose was to tell everyone about community events, what's happening in-game (e.g. the current CG and lore happenings) and show community creations (stellarscreenshots, reddit highlights).
Then people complained that a series named "news" didn't contain any "news" (because those people think that news are just game development things).
