Right. I've got a good grasp of the controls.
I'm getting the Vette out.

I'm Kumo.Careful with ship to ship combat; they haven't fixed to he target hostile yet.
You've seen one bar in this galaxy, you've seen em all. There will be a bar but if it is like the others I have visited the bar tender will be to busy doing dodgy deals to get you a drink.
I just pulled the FE2 box down from the shelf and it contains both the story book, with the illustration of Jaques, and the gazetteer...
Yeah but... I haven't bought EDO yet. I haven't seen any bars, I just want to know if they existYou've seen one bar in this galaxy, you've seen em all.
Some of them came in huge boxes with all sorts of stuff in them...I do miss the days when games came bundled with some printed media to make them feel more immersive. There were a few in the 90s did it really well; FE2 came with all the short stories, Syndicate and I think UFO Enemy Unknown both did their gameplay manuals in-character.
Not that I mind having in-game tutorials, I used the ED ones yesterday to remind myself of the controls before I took my actual ship out of the station, but paper feels nice.
They do exist, and they are pretty nice too. They lack social activities, though, at least so far. Can't sit. Can't buy a drink. The girls have nothing to say to you, nor the guys, except for a few shady characters trying to lure you into the criminal lifestyle (I have listened to their offers, and succumbed to a couple of themYeah but... I don't miss having to keep the CD keys around, though. Or the floppy disks! What are those!?Some of them came in huge boxes with all sorts of stuff in them...
Ahhh, the halcyon days of media...
What do you mean Monkey Island 2 is on 12 disks...? That's a lot of swapping even with a secondary driveOr the floppy disks!
It would have been extra neat if they did an animated Jaques at his bar, though. Maybe someday.![]()

Starflight had an awesome set of accouterments as well including a large star map...and a CODE WHEEL...and an in game Police Force that would let you get away with getting the code wrong a time or two...maybe..."save" is your friend...What do you mean Monkey Island 2 is on 12 disks...? Really hope this is on the todo list somewhere. There's not a lot of Elite lore characters really, it would be lovely to make use of the ones they have
I did enjoy getting posters like the FE2 galaxy map. Well, local galaxy map anyway. I feel like I remember a very cool manual with K240 as well (which I just found out may one day have a spiritual successor called Sector 53... although the dev seems very slow, so I suspect it's a guy doing it in his free time)
Checked. No, inventory not fullWas your inventory full? Emergency drops excess stuff. Can you still see the objective item in your inventory?
And do you still have the item you were supposed to hand in? if you boarded to soon, you lose the stuff you were carrying...Checked. No, inventory not full![]()
You can change ships at the ship dealer in the concourse. If you missed my earlier edit, are you really sure you didn't accidentaly accepted the Emergency Boarding?Oh and...
I've never troed this before. I have two ships in the shipyard at a station. How do I selected one or the other from the councourse? It says use up/down to selectt hangar but those keys do nothing. DO you just have to use the old shipyard method of switching between ships?

"Inter Astra" in the concourse is the same as "Shipyard" in the station/port/carrier menu. Some stations have no shipyard, in which case Inter Astra in the concourse is unmanned. You can change ships at the ship dealer in the concourse. At the turbo-lift (elevator), one can use the up/down arrows to choose to go to the hanger of a teammate's ("teams" used to be called "wings") ship if it is docked and it has more than one seat.
CD keys aint half as bad as needed the damn CD to boot the game and then it gets scratched and your game is borked.I don't miss having to keep the CD keys around, though. Or the floppy disks! What are those!?![]()
