Update 11 Patch Notes

Wait, VR? Do you mean, walk there in flat mode, then use external camera once seated? If that's the case, I'll be staying in my ship and sneaking the camera in to the carrier bridge from there.
 
Some quick feedback while I'm sitting out the 55 min wait time (😑) to jump my FC back:

  • Services NPCs are a total mess. Names and faces don't match the actual NPC present at their stations (Edit: That one fixed itself after the next jump) and established ones (like my captain) have been replaced by someone totally different.
  • Switching ships while on foot for the FC owner seems to only work with the shipyard service installed, for no good reason.
  • I don't mind that the bartender only accepts cash - I'm practically done with EDO engineering and have already given out stuff for free, so at least I don't have to arrange for meetups anymore. But the possible price ranges are a joke. 220,000 Cr max for selling a SDP means I won't bother getting more after I sold my stock, at which point the bartender becomes basically useless.
  • Available trades need to be able to be advertised, if not in-game then at least via third party sites.
  • And somehow the game just ignored me being seated already and did the forced move (to the same seat) anyway

As a positive the jump sequence was quite impressive and the right amount of scary with all the lightning :love:

That's a bug people have been having ... USUALLY cured by relogging or rebooting the game.
Done that, I've even jumped into SC and back and rebooted my PC but nothing fixes that issue. Someone suggested jumping your carrier to another system works but I'll have to wait 58 mins for that solution.

I dont like how engineers was implemented...but it's done it's designed task very well.
Destroy any semblance of balance that ships had?

I understand why it was added, though it's not entirely for the reasons you suggest it is a good enough time sink as any. But Elite doesn't have "end game", it never has, although that's another discussion entirely.
 
Next idea.
Right now I have a red and white interior - so that the lights are turned on (not very fitting with the Imperial theme, but we can always hope for a blue and white one later) - and my crew are wandering around in pastel blues and greens like escaped extras from ER.
There's not a single Imperial uniform to be seen. Not even a redshirt.
The colour clash is indescribable. Half space-going hospital, half interstellar fashion disaster.
How about letting us set the colours - or more - for the crew aboard the ship.
Personally I could go for something tasteful in enamel white armour.
 
  • The staff I hire on the services screens are not the NPCs that actually appear on the command deck or concourse. Extra points if you manage to make SLF pilots show up in the bar.
Begs the question why the hired crew needed to be replaced if they weren't going be represented 1-on-1 in the FC interior anyway. RIP, old buddies.

11 Updates later, performance and optimization issues with on-foot CZs and settlements are still not totally adressed. When will this get fixed? Is it in 11 more updates?

It's really disheartening waiting 1-3 months for an update that does not fix such a major issue.

Is it just me or the jump time for fleet carrier have been set back to their initial 45min values ????

Is it a merging fail when you reintegrated your development branch o ar temporary workaround to avoid the servers to burn when everybody are moving their FC to buy on foot services?

Well, the White interior is not Imperial.

Sooo... how the Carrier Pioneer Supply is working?
My Epic account is not that rich and 200 millions plus 5 millions upkeep is quite expensive.

Is it working like the Shipyard? i have to buy stuff from a carrier admin system to have the PS guy selling them? Valid for consumables too?
Are the suits weapons Grade 1 only?

Hi Bruce, Is this a temporary feature (I hope). I'm experiencing nearly a 1 hour jump time. That is pretty bad. I'm sat around staring at my screen for an hour when I should be playing the game. What am I supposed to do in the meantime?
The feature exists permanently as a safeguard. We expect the current spike in jumps to dissipate after the initial excitement of seeing a carrier jump from inside the viewing area.
