Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

Anyway, its fun to see how this went.
Ho, come one...
Every single ED refugee had acknowledged that SC has far better graphics than ED.
SC is perhaps not on par with the best last gen solo player game graphics, but it's one of the most beautiful multi space game on the market. If you know a prettier one, show us your sccreenshots...

Hum I don't agree at all. Actually I can tell you never played Star Citizen and probalby haven't played ED for long enough to make those claims.

Just a tip. You can click on a forum users avatar (or just mouse-over on PC) to see when they joined the ED forum. It's a decent indicator of the minimum time they've been playing ED. In Ian Skippy's case you'll see he joined December 2014.

SC runs incredibly well compared with EDOdyssey and with 1000x the detail.
It would appear that LTNTDan didn't do well at mathematics :ROFLMAO:

Is the Lieutenant rank regularly given to recruits who cannot do simple maths? I mean, it's well known that armed forces recruit from the uneducated sectors of society, but even so, here in the UK the current and former military personnel i know are certainly far more capable with their mathematics abilities 😃

it's one of the points of "respecting the player time"
:ROFLMAO:
20 minutes to leave Orison.
5 minutes to wait for a train.
Timers to wait for cargo to be loaded.

Yours has to be a parody account at this point. No way that the military would employ, let alone give the rank of Lieutenant to, someone who self-owns that much.

Unless your captain/major/commander had the policy of "hey everyone, don't give Dan the live ammunition. And definitely not a grenade" :ROFLMAO:

But enough about your posts 😃

The irony of LittleAnt saying "you said something that isn't correct" 😂
Thinking I'm always wrong doesn't change that what I said here is simple facts. 5 min for a train ? Simply false and everybody having played SC know it. But that's the sort of info someone that don't know the game at all can say.
Haven't heard your comments on the outdated screenshot I posted on par with ED (that also something someone that don't know the game at all can say).

I did a free fly last year and was lucky enough to get help from an Aussie SC player. We waited at a train (shuttle?) station for over 5 mins, and had to resort to abandoning that station and go to another to finally pick up a shuttle. I note I even wrote about in my short SC review at the time.

If the train bug and is absent, there is no waiting time, it will never arrive... StuartGT talk about the normal waiting time that is absolutely not 5 min. The average waiting time is around 30 seconds.

Edit : I should have fully read your linked post before, the 'Discovery Tours' is not in game yet, there is no shuttle on this line (you always have waiting time on panel near, there is none for this one). It seems your comrade didn't know it also.

Because they can't persuade folk who can do proper joined up writing to jump out of aeroplanes and get shot at for a living, right?

All UK Armed Forces recruiting centres have been IQ testing potential applicants since the 1970's. The basic entry educational requirement is also higher than that set by any other UK employer.

Unlike some other countries...we don't let stupid people loose with millions of quids worth of technical hardware ;)

You deflect because saying SC as far better graphics is too hard for you. I understand. And you can't invoke anymore the slideshow since the start of gen12 implementation, bad news.

Nah, I think SC does look better than ED. I don't have a dog in these fights. You'll have to excuse me if I don't play your game of 'Find me a Rupert who looks more like Rupert Everett'.

The point I am making is: Graphics don't make the game. And under its pretty skin SC is still a very buggy, patchwork, pre-alpha ¯\(ツ)/¯

Looking forward to that 10th anniversary though right? (There'll probably be a sale and everything ;))

;)
IQ tests in general were largely created to help armies deal with the vast pool of recruits during WW1, and played a big role in helping psych testing get a foothold in non-clinical civilian life. And to be a lieutenant in the Dutch army you have to go through four years of military academy, which is certainly not open to random idiots. Then again, your average 18-yo private 2nd class in the mech infantry isn't going to win any Nobel prize soon either. :p

Its a strawman anyway. "SC is a state-of-the-art hyper ambitious game with never before seen fidelity' is the usual deflection from why it is such a mediocre game. When you then point out it is not state-of-the-art and looks quite dated years before it is set to release they pivot to "but it often looks better in some ways than another dated game!".

Okay, but that leaves us with "a pretty small game with limited gameplay loops, broken AI, networking that's lightyears from what is needed for its intended gameplay, hopeless performance and an endless barrage of bugs. But it can look better than another old game.". Its not the amazing claim to fame our Ant thinks it is.
