Which world would that be by Lem?
The book is also called Invincible, well, if you don't mind big spoilers:
"Crew members of the ship Invincible explorers seemingly dead planet and discovers that it used to be inhabited by evolving machines. The form that ultimately survived and dominated the planet are swarms of nanobots."
The book is a thrill ride and I always hoped it gonna be adapted in some form in to a movie/game.
Oh right, I know that one. There is barely any I havent read. He's my fav scifi author - I just know only the German versioons.
There is one german guy wrote sth similar. Got very popular, but it's just a cheap knockoff from the Invincible.
Eden and Fiasko are the best. He had this knack for depicting alien as truly alien.
