Stuck between the Formorian Frontier and the Abyss

So, it seems that Carl, my XO, decided to get drunk yesterday and follow spansh neutron plotter blindly on our way to BP. When he got to Skueqiae UZ-P d5-0, there were 18 jumps until the next neutron star but the galactic map could not find a way.

"No problem" - he thought - "Follow me, I know the way!"

He didn't.

Now, we are stuck 800LY below the galactic plane at Skueqiae VP-0 d6-0 and, despite a 62LY range, only three stars are within reach of each other. We just managed to fix the AFMU after Carl forgot to bring materials to refill it and, of course, we also did not bring jumponium. What are my options? I can only see

1. Mine jumponium if any of the 3 systems has the required mats and see if that gets me out (I see some stars at 90-110LY)
2. Commission a FC (in Colonia to save 20k LY? In the Bubble for easy tritium?) and get it to rescue us in a couple months (around 1.1 billion credits from the bubble)
3. Pray to the Really Far Gods (I am in the middle of nowhere after all) and see if anyone has a FC nearby that can get me out of this pickle.

I was wondering: How do I go about number 3? Would FCOC be my best bet? The Fuel Rats?

your got a good lot of gathering time, check out thesystems you can jump to and see if you can get anough jumponium, also dont only look at nearest star to jump to make sure theres another few after that

I'm sure you will already have considered this but.... check your filters in the GalMap. A few years ago I thought I was stuck in a system unable to jump out as all nearest stars were out of range. Called for help before realising I'd filtered most of the common star types... DOH!!!! Cleared filters and jumped to very close system.........

Thanks all. Just checked with EDD Discovery and it seems I could, if I am lucky, mine Jumponium. I will try that first.

Should I do it in Horizons? Odissey? Any advice on how to find Yttrium / Polonium where only one planet has them at 0.3%?

Do any of the planets have non-atmospheric planets bio or geo, that's the best bet for rares, for commons I usually find meteorites and mesidorites, but it's hard to make a recommendation from here not knowing what you have available. If the one planet has Polonium/Ytrium and also has geo/bio it that way, otherwise it's hunt for ground deposits.

I just uploaded it to EDSM and I actually got two green systems that I can reach

The second one seems much better as it has volcanism so will try that in Horizons. Thanks!

That's the way, geo sites in Horizons have a much higher drop rate than the percentage stated on the planet, usually up to 10 times.

Ok, after doing some calculations, it seems like we are out of the woods with 5 jars of Jumponium Tripel (100%) and 1 glass of Jumponium lite (25%).

Hopefully, I don't take too long in finding the required mats with the SRV. Carl volunteered to take the SRV but we don't want to make this our permanent home. Last SRV he drove ended up in orbit, somehow.

Well, managed to get enough for 6 Injections, which should do the trick. Even for Polonium, which was on a planet with no geological features, it didn't take more than 30 min to find a couple of outcrops with it. A shame, really. If I find a few more maybe we could give Carl a tea...

Who said that? Damn voices.... Onwards to BP!

Just as a final update, I finally got to Beagle Point and, in the process, discovered a new ELW. It was in a nearby system to one of the waypoints out of where I was, only reachable by that system (without Jumponium).

Will now visit Ishum’s Reach, wait for the Bubble ferry (and collect mats) and see what cool expeditions are available for the next adventure :)

o7!
