Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

That suit looks more sinister than stealthy though.
There are a few suit cosmetics that make your CMDR look like something out of Captain Scarlet. I'll try that when the game stops giving me transaction errors when trying apply them.

The "Tiger" one - which I think came about to celebrate the Chinese New Year - has a white version that reminds me of Elvis. Not good for stealthy looks. Plus the trash press... ""Elvis alive and well and living near Eol Prou LW-L c8-302".

I'm now on my way back to Deciat and only 5 jumps away, re my mini-discovery expedition in my 32ly jump range Dolphin. I reckon that even though I only went out about 500lys I didn't do badly, honking everywhere I arrived with the FSSS and managing to get plenty of first maps. No first discoveries of course but I never expected any of those at such a short way out. I actually came across an already discovered Earth-like world this time amongst other things, which oddly enough was one more than I found on my previous 10,000ly round trip in the Asp X.

I'll flog all this stuff at Felicity's place (might as well sell it there as anywhere else anyway,) and see if it makes her happy enough to give me an intergalactic hyperdrive like the one in the original Elite, when you could jump to another galaxy that was pretty much the same as the one you started out in. Andromeda looks quite enticing. :p

I suspect though that I'll have to do all that jiggery-pokey stuff about storing my Rolls Royce FSD there and temporarily replacing it with a bargain one from Poundland, so she can first off do all her "experimental effect" etc stuff on it and I'll advance a few levels with her on FSDs, without having to worry about breaking things which was what happened before with my Asp FSD... :cautious::oops:

Nothing exciting to report, just a Water World (one of 10) and an Ammonia World with a moon.

Hehe

I once put it to the Devs about having an intergalactic jump capability. Their response was along the lines of "Woah hold on! It took us long enough to do the Milky Way!".

Well, that's just being lazy 🙃 :p 😜 😗

Hmmm, skin in EHD4 arx store still bugged? All skins are highlighted with "Odyssey required"
The "Vintage" skin package is COMPLETELY bugged out. I wanted to wear the blue scheme, but they have all the colors mixed up across the entire set. So to be "blue" I have to wear different colors to get blue. I'll post later when I get on my main system, but it's ridiculous how I have to mix and match different colors to get one.

I mean, seriously - how do you screw that up?

Or hitch a ride on a carrier with the ship as is.

I'm currently on a trip with @CMDRQuainMarln about 6,000 LY out. When I get back I'll be buying a fleet carrier and heading out about that same distance in the other direction.

Check out the Exploration forum. There are people with fleet carriers that post where they're headed all the time there and you can hitch a ride.

No, she's not always in darkness. Might be related to your timezone.

Yes - Deciat 6a is tidally locked, but as a moon, it's tidally locked to its parent planet (like Earth's Moon), with a rotational period of 2.1 days. That means that, if you arrive every day at around the same Earth time (i.e. your timezone), you'll need 10 days to go through all illumination scenarios.
I think we can neglect the rotation of the mother planet Deciat 6 around Deciat for this estimation - that one neeeds ~ten years for one orbit.

That's why we keep you around - somebody has to do the astronomy.

Aye I meant moon not planet. Yes of course the tidal locking would be to the parent planet, not the star as you say, same as Earth's moon. My timezone is Zulu ie GMT and BST when the clocks have moved forward as they have right now until the end of October.

Anyway, it would be quite a novelty for me to approach Farseer in daylight so maybe I'll time my arrival to coincide with that some time. :)

Just got back.

This is off topic for the game, but on topic for "what are you up to".

Today is the first anniversary of my best friend's death from covid last year. I met him when I was 15 years old. Knew the guy for 40 years. We used to ride our motorcycles a lot together, so today I got out my old Vmax and ran the old route we'd taken so many times over the years through the mountains of North Georgia.

Took this picture after I filled up this morning down the street from the house.

Blue skies, the leaves are turning, nice and cool (temp's in the high '60's to low '70's) and not many people out and about today.

It was a perfect day.
sorry to hear about your friend, nice bike, keep it to the sunny side up.my all electric now so long trips are out for the moment.
