What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

the water could be bugged. Usually fixed by removing water and raising all the glass again - add water and redo. If still not working, sometimes you need to actually remove the glass barriers and redo it all again
Yeah thanks, but I tried this already and it didn't work. I'll remove the glass walls once more and hope it works this time.

You can be sure you'll see more of this little build when the pack releases tomorrow, as I'll make some small changes (probably gonna integrate the dead wood/roots into the habitats and add some non-gargoyle wombat scenery) and take lots of pictures of the wombats exploring their new home.
Day 2: The Wombatening

Basically did what I said I would - I finally introduced real wombats, made some changes to fix up traversable area (including redoing a burrow entrance), integrated the bristlecone pine pieces and added a few touches of wombat scenery. I also added a burrow cam given I forgot to yesterday. Now for wombat image spam:

Bestest animal that ever PZ'd.

Also had a gander at the new tropical Oceania map given that's where I plan to build my next zoo - the mountains were bigger than I was expecting, but at least it looks a lot more like the rainforests of far north Queensland (where I'll set my zoo) or New Guinea than the original tropical map did. I've written up some rough ideas in regards to different sections of the zoo and the species within them:

Subject to change of course, the zoo is meant to be fairly small and lack a lot of big ticket/popular animals.

Entrance Area:
Capybara
Colombian White-faced Capuchin
Axolotl [E]

South-east Asia:
Siamang
Asian Small-clawed Otter
Sun Bear
Binturong
North Sulawesi Babirusa
Indian Peafowl

Temperate Australia House:
Platypus
Koala
Common Wombat
Eastern Blue-tongued Skink [E]
Common Death Adder [E]

Reptile Realm:
Aldabra Giant Tortoise
Galapagos Giant Tortoise
American Alligator
Spectacled Caiman
Green Iguana [E]
Gila Monster [E]
Boa Constrictor [E]
Yellow Anaconda [E]
Western Diamondback Rattlesnake [E]

Little Africa:
Black-and-white Ruffed Lemur
Ring-tailed Lemur
Egyptian Fruit Bat [E]
Fennec Fox
Cheetah
Meerkat
Nyala
Common Ostrich

North Australian Safari:
Red Kangaroo
Dingo
Wild Water Buffalo
Southern Cassowary
Komodo Dragon
Saltwater Crocodile
Eastern Brown Snake [E]
Giant Burrowing Cockroach [E]

The last zoo I worked on before going on my hiatus from the forum over a year ago was also set in north Queensland, but I never got much further than a few entrance habitats there and now that there's a more suitable map there's no better time to try again.

I normally find release day a bit overwhelming but I haven't played in a couple of weeks so had a quick go at a wombat enclosure.

I am now completely obsessed with wombats. All I will do is build zoos full of wombats.

Shelter doesn't work because the game thinks wombats are the size of white rhinos...

I played planet parking lot for 2 hours.

Joke.

I started a new Franchise zoo on the fantastic new Asian temperate map. The 7th Street Park and Zoo. We'll see if I ever figure out how to properly upload screenshots. Currently the zoo contains an access road, a parking lot, and a semi-usable playground area. There several placeholder exhibits as well as racoons in the playground to encourage guests to enter the area (and also because I think racoons are hillarious).

Next I'm hoping to work on an enterance building/education center.

I've been keen to test out the new bats for myself and didn't want to wait to start a new zoo to see them, but it was only today that I realised that they'd fit perfectly into an African mini-zoo I created after the release of the Africa Pack. Heavily themed and not meant to be realistic, all of the habitats and buildings in this zoo were completed but I never got around to decorating the paths and working on the surrounding landscape before I lost motivation, so as of now it sits half finished. The zoo already has a small mammal house that doubles up as a nocturnal house, but given there was no way I could integrate them into there I decided to make them have an outdoor aviary that can only be accessed by walking through the mammal house (via the aardvark outdoor viewing area).

Only used the basic mesh shell and built around that to make it appropriately match the theming of the zoo. I really love the bats!

Because I've never shown off this zoo before, here is a quick tour:

Not in Planet Zoo but for Planet Zoo, I remade the NZO (National Zoo Organization) logo. We have gone international and are now the World Zoo Organization (WZO):

I am also making alternate info boards for animals. I may upload them on Nexus for players to download and use for their screens:

By the way, outta curiosity, does anybody have any high quality animal pics where the animals look like they're in the wild? If so, I'd greatly appreciate using them in my project. Thanks

Well you could use Google , plenty of wild animal pics. Could be hard to simulate a wild looking pz picture for tons of animals

Do you not put animals in?
Well yeah of course, I try to match everything about the real zoo including signs as much as I can. When in realistic kind of habitats , it feels like a real zoo so I match the atmosphere with realistic signs. Although if I'm getting into it - the more zoos I make the more realistic it gets. I have went from making a habitat in several hours to several days

Well, imma go by DLC. Start off with Deluxe and head down. Base game will be last, due to the amount of course.

It's quite a project, but if you're willing to help, then I really appreciate it
Yeah I'm sure it will be fun. You get high quality pictures , I get to finally use animals I rarely ever use . I've had the deluxe for years now and still haven't used the pygmy hippo

:D that's a great Title. Lets me think that I've missed the Opportunity to name the second Version of my Research Center Arctic Project 2: Electric Boogaloo😆

🤔 Big Animals Area with Elephants, Rhinos and Wombats🙃

🤔 Makes me realize that I didn't think about a Parking Garage or a Parking Lot yet for my next Zoo despite planning so much. I think it should work if I put Guest Spawners into each of the Cars I'll put in there, so the Guests will arrive more realistic 👍
Does anyone have Experience with having so many Spawners? Can it cause Problems?

I wish I could help with that. Built some really nice temperate Forests around some of my Zoos and a really nice Rainforest near my Dingo Breeding Center in Thailand. Might be able to repair my Computer relatively soon if I should be successful at getting the Job I'm trying to get👍 I'll see what I can do when my PC works

I built this aviary. It's not quite done yet. At the moment, of course, only the bats in there, but hopefully we'll get other contemporaries for the big box.
I hope that it will also be possible in the future to remove the path from the middle.
btw the shadows on the right *chef kiss :ROFLMAO:
