Thanks - those stations are few and far between because some rotten swines have kicked Sirius Corp out of most of their control systems. I guess Procyon still has one I think.

It could also be argued that it improves the experience of the many by reducing the likelihood of being instanced with the few.

Look in the mission board in stations where Sirius Corp is in charge. It will appear in there.

That assumes that the other players in the instance would suffer, rather than benefit, from the presence of a player that has blocked a player that won't then be instanced with them - both outcomes are possible.

I've got allied with Sirius Corp, I have the Sirius permit, and I have 24 modular terminals (just need one more). However I can't see the research base because apparently I need an "Invitation from Sirius Corp". How do I get the invitation?

Energy Grid Assemblies are one of a small set of "special case" commodities that are only manufactured in a small group of systems. Pretty much every CG we have had for these has been around 200+ Ly from the systems that sell them.

The boundary for the top 10 is usually the furthest off to be honest. Those in the top 10 often don't want to share figures as it gives others something to aim for! That said, if people are trying for it the upper figure for top 10% will keep moving up and we get closer so ... The more figures from those in the higher brackets, the more accurate it gets, but I would always assume that boundary will display as a lot lower than it actually is for a trade CG.

Some players would seem to deserve being blocked. If instancing was permanent it might be a bigger issue - but it's not - instances join and split as necessary - with players coming and going. I'd expect that they have considered many - and still consider that the benefits outweigh the downsides.

.... which might lead those players that are preyed on by the players blocking the bounty hunters to friend the bounty hunters - which might leave those being sought by the bounty hunters rather lonely....

Whether they are disruptive or not would seem to be for the player doing the blocking to decide, not those that don't like CMDRs being blocked. It would seem that Frontier consider that the benefits (to the player-base as a whole) outweigh the downsides - as the recent enhancement to the HUD with the live stream particularly drawing attention to the history tab and the fact that players can be blocked from there would seem to suggest.

The schedule is already at the limit of what it can stretch. I.e. Live is shown at Gamescom week. I dont think CIG can afford the schedule to show any window delay (Evocati, PTU or Live) moving things after Gamescom because that would mean admitting insta "defeat" ("defeat" defined as releasing any version of 3.0 after Gamescom) when we are still several weeks away from it. Why would they want to accelerate that pain unnecesarily and impacting all the hype based sales from now until then in the running up to Gamescom? No, I think they will indeed not delay any of the windows later than Gamescom week, and will relase "a" 3.0 before or at Gamescom anyways, even if it is just Evocati, in whatever state the game is at that moment. They could probably release Evocati right now even if the game crashes every other second and FPS average 5-10. If CIG fails to release even Evocati by that date then that would be really an indication of much much more serious issues.

Even if players did engage in pre-emptive blocking, the names of the CMDRs that got blocked would probably be gleaned from posts / videos that appear - crowing and belittling other players - put simply, if players seek to be notorious, they should not expect there to be no consequences for such behaviour. .... or broadcast in Local (per your following post)....

He must be kicking himself that he settled for $25 Million instead of just getting convicted and pardoning himself <grin>

I'd expect that the population of Open is one of their internal metrics (not that they share that information) - and the measures either already in place or soon to be put in place would seem to be designed to make more players want to play there. I doubt that the block feature would be removed this long after launch....

Whether it is abuse or a side effect encountered from it working as intended is a matter of opinion. The game already makes matches for instancing based on some set of criteria - if a player is in a Wing with the player, a friend of the player or blocked by the player (or some combination of these) are just more criteria to be taken into consideration by the matchmaking system. The reasons for this decline cannot be determined without doubt (without other information to which we are not privy).

It was Chris Steele that did the trash searching, although it didn't come as much of a surprise. And talking about stupid questions as I was a few posts ago.. Why is Trump talking about pardoning himself? He can't be convicted of anything while he is still President. He has to be impeached before he's convicted, and once that happens he won't have the power to pardon anyone?
