LOL hanging on like a dog with a bone huh? Frankly until it has genuinely failed, it is all still speculation. My observation is that with the time that they are taking they're making their publicity job that much harder, ultimately even the faithful will walk away for a time and that will potentially cause the funding to be a great deal harder to achieve. My point is that they may still get 'something' out but it will potentially not make sense in the original form or reach the scope that people were hoping for. Applying wisdom to the situation sitting back and watching it play out makes a great deal more sense than either remaining blindly faithful or conversely burning the game before it is even out.

Most likely you splattered an NPC on the way out, or someone ran into you and then died. That would have got you an assault bounty at which point you would be fair game for the system authorities.

LOL I like that analogy - it's like Lost where they dragged it on so much that the ending made no sense whatsoever and they lost 70% of their viewers.

I'm not obsessed with ED, but I am certainly VERY passionate about it. It's a hobby and passion, but - like with all hobbies - it can take over your life if you let it to. It did happen to me last year, where I dedicated WAY too much time to administer and organise my player faction. It was great time for me in ED, we now have most systems (I believe) of all the player factions, we're in the official ED lore and Drew's new book and our small community of (depending on people coming and going) 200-300 players is very active and many of us became close friends, playing other games, meeting IRL etc. This took a toll on my personal life, as I have neglected some of my friends, but I realised that in time and cut down on the amount of time I commit to my group. This year is certainly going to be different. I still have the passion, but I won't let it take over this time :)

Our little club does fight to the death, but we only fight in stock Sidewinders so not exactly bank-breaking stuff. The reason being that the real fun starts when your shields go down :D Fighter Club meets outside Leesti at 7pm on Wednesdays. Turn up in a stock Sidewinder with all your chits cashed in, all your cartography collected, and with report crimes "off". Friend "Frank" so that you call yell at me in comms if I'm not there. It's from the specials (volunteer police) website but here - http://policespecials.com/equip.html explains the standard equipment, which includes a baton and a pepper spray or similar. Some carry tazers as well, and 'armed' police have firearms. As quoted way above, these are police, not paramilitaries. Not routinely carrying guns is rather important to both how the police are perceived in the UK, and how they behave. As for this poor man killed in the course of his job, I do not know what he was equipped with. Assuming he had a stab-proof vest (which is standard) then the effectiveness of them clearly needs to be looked at.

It is already heavily protected and I'm sure reviews will take place as a result of this attack. Note that as soon as this person penetrated the grounds or parliament, he was dead within seconds. He did manage to murder one police officer which is a tragedy, and I'm sure changes will be made to protect against that in future. However, whether those changes call for every police officer in the UK to be armed is another question.

No, but they would want to use electronic communications of some kind to coordinate their activities. The fact that recent attacks in Europe have tended to be done by a single person alone, with little to no knowledge or coordination from anywhere else, and often with a history of prior criminality unrelated to extremism and/or a history of mental health issues, seems to indicate that they are having some problems putting coordinated and organized groups which are capable of large scale attacks into place. These people don't seem to be organized and trained terrorist cells in the way that they were thought of in the past. (And also, some of them do write it all down because they are not trained to avoid those things).

The visible police presence at the gates were unarmed. However there were armed police nearby and at Westminster there are (unusually for the UK) both plain clothes and uniformed armed police. From what was talked about on the news yesterday, the perpetrator was shot by plain clothes protection officers within a very short time (not many seconds) of attacking the policeman. The guards outside Buckingham palace are also unarmed (in the sense that even if they are carrying a weapon it's not loaded). However I'm sure there are armed police around the area very close by. In general UK policing, most police are unarmed, but they are backed up by armed response units. One thing to note here is that the perpetrator didn't have a gun either - I'm sure if he had been able to get one he would have done so.

I've been trying to find that video of the youngish kid (with the spaceman helmet) who's about 10 years old, finding the sidewinder difficult to fly but 'amazing'. He did a couple of videos I think, maybe someone can help me find the youtube. Anyway, worth every penny.

I have made a recent discovery that us in the Children of Raxxla are currently investigating. I have interlocked the barnacle logo the correct way, and I have also made the link on "Who" the logo refers to... reaching dead-end clues but I feel like I'm close... [IMG][/IMG]
