    Since goods which can be bought from a market are involved, I don't think there is much choice involved. Liz Ryder is in the bubble, with explosives in quantity nearby... so the other CG will do better as a result. Palin is going to need all the help he can get out in Maia.

    The ability to accept missions for which you aren't currently equipped has been asked for. As far as I know, FD toyed with the idea, but decided that they didn't want to put up with the headache of people taking those missions and not being able to complete them. For example... Joe Spaceship Guy in a Sidey picks up a mission to source and return 85 units of food cartridges. Figures out there's no way for him to do so (because he only has a sidey), and suddenly it's the game's fault for letting him take the mission in the first place. Why we can't accept such missions and then complete them in installments is beyond me. Same goes for all missions that require cargo space.

    Here is where there is some good room for some meaningful gameplay involving NPCs, especially if there were a couple of NPC mining wings that knew how to prospect properly. How these NPCs react to CMDRs poaching their claims could depend on faction reputation, or even involve some scripted dialog options - bribe, bluff, threat, plead.

    It's currently not worth the effort to check what an NPC is mining, as they aren't selective about what they mine. If a NPC is mining nearby, you'll lose limpets that will crash into roids as they try and get the NPC's fragments of mostly worthless ore. NPC miners are only there for atmosphere. They can also come in handy if a pirate turns up. If the mining AI was improved, they would be a real asset to miners.

    Straight up. Special Ops guys used to rave about them, so I decided to buy one. I knew exactly the kind I wanted though - matte finish, composite grips, folding paratrooper stock. Went to one of the local gun shows on a whim one Saturday and found that very one. Picked it up with like 600 rounds of ammo. Took it home, and promptly put it under my bed, where it sat packed in cosmoline for like three years until one day my friends suggested we take it out and shoot it. It promptly became my favorite rifle, man. Good buy.

    True, which is why I said that I didn't "expect to see any changes". I was simply pointing out that we don't need player trading to solve the materials gathering "issue".

    There's plenty of space to store ships. Currently, all Engineers have planetary bases. Ships can land on planets/moons without needing landing pads. All there needs to be is a large "open air" parking lot to store the ships. Ships can automatically take off and land on planets (when you are in an SRV), so your current ship can fly off to the parking lot, while your new ship flies to a landing pad, so you can engineer/outfit it. The lot would need to be nearby, so that the base's defenses would attack any player that tries to destroy the parked ships. Because some of the engineer bases might not have level ground nearby, not all of the bases would have this facility, but a lot of them could. Actually, I'd like to see "used ship lots" in this game, regardless, so you could buy discounted used ships with non-standard load-outs.

    The problem is, materials are supposed to be difficult to get. Until FD changes their mind, I don't expect to see any changes to that. We don't need player interactions/trading/selling to improve the materials situation. All we need are markets at some stations that let us buy/sell materials. Problem solved. As to player interaction, there need to be more reasons to do things cooperatively: Multiplayer missions, for example. Defending a cargo shipment would be one mission type, but there are lots of untapped possibilities. Of course, there are still probably some multiplayer/connection/networking issues which would need to be addressed for this idea to be viable.

    Yes, the countdown and tunnel animations do take time, but imo, it seems necessary. The speed up to start countdown is probably mostly for combat escape situations, where it adds drama and challenge. In "normal" situations, I don't see why the countdown couldn't start as soon as you throttle up (without waiting for your ship to achieve maximum velocity). The tunnel animation "loading screen" appears to be required. There's no way that all the all data for the entire galaxy can be stored on your local drive, so it has to be downloaded. When my connection is bad, the tunnel animation sometimes plays for an exceptionally long time, while I wait for the data. Would you prefer to see a "Downloading" progress bar instead? The required bits have to be transferred. Yes, harvesting materials on a metallic planet does sound weird. I've never actually landed on a metallic planet, so I've never encountered that situation.

    I doubt it's random. I think it will be based on the order the systems get their tick calculated. This is just a guess.

    My engineered modules are a mess. I have a fleet of storage ships (mostly Cobras, DBEs and FDSs) scattered all over the bubble, plus at least one of most ships fully engineered. I just unlocked the Cutter last night \o/ so I will spend the next few days touring most of the engineers. I can't be bothered trying to figure out what I have the mats for, so I'll just do whatever I can when I get there. If I find out that I'm missing anything, I'll get around to farming whatever I need eventually, though I suspect the 'Goids will be a distraction by then.

    Maybe they could put a timer on the Are You Sure dialog so you cannot click yes until say a 5 second pause has expired.

    This could even be done easily enough using the current mechanics. For example, Felicity notes you've pinned the G5 FSD mod, so she offers you at least 3 missions. One generates a USS with a beacon that has several datamined wake exceptions, another to assassinate a NPC that will drop several chemical manipulators, another to a POI that has a fumerole bubbling with arsenic. You still need to do some effort, but there's no RNG involved.
