    1) Finding the best route through a system can drastically decrease your time taken. Don't just fly straight, avoid all other bodies. It also gives you something to do. :) However, leaving a planet does feel painfully slow, even though it isn't.(Check behind you, using camera!) The UI doesn't give you enough feedback on your acceleration here, making you feel almost stationary. 2) Scanning planets gets quicker the closer you get. KWS is designed to be a bit slow. No idea why the wake scanner is so slow though. :/ I believe the slower ship scan is to allow for contact with FDs servers. 3) Only charging for a low wake, while mass locked is slow. Normal to supercruise charge is very fast otherwise, and supercruise to Hyperspace is quite quick. Normal to Hyperspace is pretty slow for some reason though.

    class 3b shieldcellbanks are a joke.... i definetly would go hrp + MRP as with all small ships, you gain much more hitpoints.

    4 pips to shields. Flight assist off. Boost and flip. Use your thrusters to manage the distance between you and the NPC. KWS. Kill. What you're talking about is only an issue if you have your turrets set to fire at will and have the KWS and the turrets set to the same trigger in the firegroup. That strikes me as just asking for trouble. At the very least you're missing out on extra bounties.

    I get why everyone was unhappy back when they did weekly updates and bug fixes, but surely people wouldn't mind monthly updates? If you get your knickers in a twist over a few hours downtime a month, then you likely need Elite Rehab. :P Bring back regular updates!

    welcome to these forums :-) when i started to play, exploration was the only thing i was interested about ... for several hundred hours .... than i took interest in the backgroundsimulation and rare goods ... ... it took me really long to get into combat at all, didn't know whether i was flying forward or backwards in the beginning, and no idea where to point my ship. beam laser turrets helped me by acting as a laser pointer. from the three ranks combat was the last i made elite in, and while i still can't stand more than an hour in res or CZ, i can now take down nearby all NPC in an eagle and appreciate how much one can learn and experience by simply shooting stuff :D - but still prefer the more slow paced way of playing by exploring the galaxy in and out of the bubble. make sure not to miss the exploration subforum here: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/forumdisplay.php/117-Elite-Exploration it is the most wonderfull corner of the forums, but don't tell anyone!

    +1. NPC use of heatsinks and their ability to break weapons lock makes things more interesting. Especially in CZs where you now need to pay attention. They can still be hit with fixed weapons while they're dark. I find that Thermal Shock lights them back up again.

    I'm ok with the time thing, but would like a real pause button in the game. Maybe it can be disabled when another CMDR is in the same instance to keep it from being exploited, but there are multiple times that I need to answer the door or attend to my disabled wife quickly. It doesn't need to pause the whole game, just take the CMDR out of the picture until RL allows time to waste.

    I'm sceptical about your suggestions as from experience after fsd range increase engineering was introduced. if you "just want to be there", 3 times FSD charging will feel as long as previously 7 times FSD charging... no matter how long/short any sequence is. it's perceived duration, not measurable time. the 20 minutes landing on a 9,8 G world is an adventure, and doesn't need to be any shorter. departing from a body while flying towards an amazing combination of rings and a nebula isn't too long, but a reason to breath in the view. the 15K ls to a station flying a shieldless mining ship full of painite, platinum and palladium is an adventurous travel. but flying several times a day to that 2000 ls station to pick up more missions .... or doing 6 jumps to that engineer base because you just need to get two more ammo increased cargo racks ... or starting from a base after finishing a mission just to dock before calling it a day, destination obscured, another 2 minutes spent supercruising out of...

    If this game was solo only I would have been thrilled to play it for 50-100 hours or so and then would have lost interest. Once I'd acquired enough wealth, experience, and skill to best any and all NPC's I'd have been out. That's about how long it would have taken for the illusion to fall apart. It's the verisimilitude offered by the humans within the game that breathes life into the construct and gives it longevity.

    I personally haven't spotted a pattern, but try low security or anarchy systems and stations. I keep meaning to bookmark one when I stumble across it next. But I forget every single time. Lol

    Just a random thought, again. Who would be interested in some kind of "Industrial Ship Kits" and things for their ships? Things like Loading Cranes or Arms, Barrels or Drums, or Cilos, Various Antenna and Dishes, Large Construction Components, external cargo pods, etc etc. Pure cosmetic of course. Although it would be pretty neat if they actually had a use. But then you can't really charge for them... :/ Yes/No?

    Lol I had another 'moment' earlier. Decided to buy and outfit an iCourier for a bit of cargo and speed. (Original reason I was heading to an engineer!) Then I logged off to go get a hair cut, and returned a short time later. All good, had all but one of the materials, which should have been simple to get. Mechanical Components. After fluffing about in SC waiting for a combat aftermath that never came, I went to the nearest Anarchy system, in my shiny new iCourier of course.
