Yeah I wouldn't advise coming here for the combat but if you're here anyway you might as well engage in a bit of pew pew, there's plenty of res sites and with pirates that need to be vaporised...

@Fritz you can improve your exploration rank by doing sight seeing tours in the bubble, no long range exploration needed. :) I got Elite Exploration before I even went 1000ly from the bubble lol. (and felt pretty bad about it too)

Nice, I rolled my A7 PP well above a stock A8 and it saved a lot of weight, I'm a little light on shields though (7D G5 Thermal) and a bunch of resident augmented shield boosters, 7A shield cell bank draws a lot of power but it does restore the shields from 1 bar in one hit. Seems about on Par with the A6's on my Trade Cutter. I wouldn't take it to CZ yet but I think it be fine at Rez sites. Everything else on mine bar non essentials is A rated. I went with Wide angle sensors as for load out 3 overcharged beams (Large/2 Med) 2 Huge MC's (long range) and 2 missile racks. I took most of the bits off my Conda to be fair, I think the DD's boost it to about 330-350 I will need to check! The Military Armour wasn't cheap mind...

Do you lose integrity on the FSD? maybe fast boot or shielded is better? Yeah it's a lot of jumps to get around but hey ho.

Congrats, just remember to have enough for the rebuy! I recently got my Cutter and Vette, only spent a short time in the Vette as I'm out exploring at the moment but looking forward to getting back in when I come home :)

I had my fully engineered Vulture shipped out to Colonia. I also have my Conda here but it's mostly D Rated spec albeit engineered. I think the Military Armour is available here so if you store up your nice modules/weapons you can get the shipped out to Colonia and buy the Conda here that could work. Expect to pay 130% of the value of your items to get them shipped here. By the way I stacked 20 data missions worth about 60m cr and scanned along the way to the tune of around 25m cr so it went towards cost of transfer, I went a bit silly and got a few ships sent over lol.

When I bought a type 7 I already had a Clipper & Python so it never even left the hanger, massive disappointment. Unless you're going to grind A-B treading just keep doing passenger missions or something in an Asp until you can afford the Python. Clipper is fun if you have the rank however.

Hey just a friendly wave, I'm out here in Colonia. Some nice suggestions here, I'll be checking them for sure. I've had some of my fleet sent down, Chrome Eagle, Vulture, Keelback, Dolphin and Conda. Also bought a Python out here for the Haulage missions as there are quite a few good ones from the outposts' also the Keelback is a flying coffin! I could only C/D rate the Python but I did have an A5 G4 FSD in storage at the Bubble so I've called that down, should be here by now actually :)

This happened to me in my DBX when I was using 2A PP, never again. It was my own fault for not powering down the fuel scoop when using the SRV, I didn't actually intend to go far from the ship but I ended up going a couple of KM away. When I recalled the ship it fell like a brick and bounced a few times before 'BOOM' luckily I was only 400ly from the last Asteroid base I'd docked at and had bookmarked my discoveries so I just self destructed and re-traced my steps, lost about an hour or two so not too bad. Wish I had tried logging into non horizons to test the theory though. I have an A3 PP now :P

I went directly up on my first trip about 500ly from Sothis and found lots of undiscovered systems :)

I don't my first trip 7000ly in my DBX with absolutely the minimum I could get away with smaller modules where applicable like A2 Power plant which required a fair bit of management but managed to stretch it to 55ly jumps. It only let me down once when I forgot to disable the fuel scoop when I enabled the SRV, I sent the ship away and when I recalled it the ship fell like a rock and exploded. Luckily I was only 400ly out from the last Asteroid base I'd stopped at so didn't lose too much and had book marked my discoveries so I could retrace my steps. My next trip was to Colonia where I'm staying now, I decided this time since I never used the AFMU to ditch it and take an extra 16T fuel tank (you could take dual SRV's instead too) I ran the secondary tank empty mostly however it's useful if you want to go where there are not many KGB FOAM stars. It costs you a couple of LY when full but nothing when empty. I also kept my G3 Dirty Drives and went with engineered A3 Distributor & Power Plant giving me...

There's people that have a second account sitting in their empty seats? Genius! If only it was cross platform I'd sit my xBox Commander in a spare seat to get the extra pip and earn it some credits!

No I just put G3 Overcharge on them and they're Gimballed, the Large one had Thermal Shock. No effect on the two mediums, I rolled them all the about 30-35% IIRC.

I put 3 overcharged beams on mine (large & 2 medium) and 2 Huge MC with 2 missile racks on the small HP's. I have only done a bit of bounty work at the Nav Beacon before heading off exploring so not tested it to the full potential yet but the overcharged beams are amazing, it was melting medium ships shields in seconds and the two MC's tore through the hull just as fast. Will have to put it through the paces more when I get back to the bubble :)

Yeah it's pretty cool, my friend is hosting his server and it hasn't been wiped yet so I assume it's only official? There certainly is a lot to do :)

Agree the Robigo runs were awesome, I even used to haul precious metals back there long before Horizon's. You could stack up loads of missions in an Asp or Python as they were only a few tonnes each and there was no limit to the amount you could stack other than space in your hold which is how it should be. The Interdictions were ridiculous but that was to be expected! Then came the smuggling and fail on scan missions, these were so much fun and in those days interdictions were so hard to evade there was a good chance of being scanned and losing it all!

I've had a few sessions with friends, the only time I tried ad-hoc sessions was Beta, I'm not interested in having randoms on my ship's. This could be why you're not getting many/any sessions. It's good fun with friends but the novelty does wear off, anything other then bounty hunting wears thin quite quickly. We tried mining/exploring/CG trading as well and it's nice the other players can assist with some of the ships functions but these can be done with voice attack anyway and for the crew they get board pretty fast.

Here ya go: https://cdb.sotl.org.uk/new Have a quick look at that page, it has some extra info for you. No Superpowers in Colonia but there are plenty of factions to work for, I've been doing data, haulage and passenger missions. Data is great for ranking up as they're plentiful.

Congrats, I didn't even realise it was permit locked until I wanted to go there and by then I already had the permit lol.
