That's just it - I don't anyone is really against CIG or Genuine Roberts, and we would like to see Star Citizen become an actual released, working, successful, enjoyable Space Game. Sure - we fill lulzbuckets with CIG's antics and gawp in a peculiar mixture of amazement, horror, disbelief, and purest wotthefuttery - purely because many of us are actual developers, programmers, network engineers, graphics designers, hardware architects, etc - professionals with decades of experience in the various fields that CIG are working in to try and deliver their product. We're not going "pooh! That's a silly thing to do!" just because it's fun saying it, or because we are trying to wish some apocalyptic event upon CIG - it's simply because many of the things they attempt to implement or even fit into the Vision are, well, simply silly things to do. The reason so many things CIG are proud to say "never have been done before" have simply not been done before because they simply don't work.

Unfortunately, unless Gamescon goes absolutely brilliantly for CIG and they have something really impressive to show off that keeps existing backers happy, and convinces new backers to sign up, Genuine Roberts may be out of the industry just as soon as the funds dry up. This is, I think, the last chance for him - and he's gambled everything on this venture. If it fails (like so many previous projects) then I don't see him picking up the pieces and trying again. If CIG tanks, there won't be any pieces left. 3.0 may not be here, and if it does eventually arrive in the completely underwhelming form I think they may be able to put together - we'll probably realise they are only 50% toward where they should have been in 2014, and there's another six years of development still to go to get to where we should be today.

I was basing my expectations on this: https://www.frontierstore.net/eur/games/elite-dangerous-cat/elite-dangerous-horizons-dlc.html/ which back when Horizons had just been released, said this: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/230362-NAMES-and-DATES-of-future-Horizons-major-patches?p=3531095&viewfull=1#post3531095 So that's 2.1 in Spring 2016, 2.2 in Summer 2016, 2.3 in 'Fall' 2016 and 2.4 - to be announced. Given that the first three parts were planned for the first three seasons of 2016 and that the first season of the game did in fact last a calendar year, it hardly seems to be a huge leap of imagination to infer that 2.4 would likely be a winter 2016 release.

Who's stressing? I just made a post setting out a few opinions. Well Ian, if I was making a post saying that there is definitely a problem and Elite is clearly doomed (which I didn't) I'd probably start with the fact that it's now a week before September 2017 and we're beta testing an update which back in December 2015 most of us expected we would be playing at Christmas 2016, along with deciding whether to buy the recently announced season three. That alone tells us that whatever the intended pace of development was two years ago, the reality has been roughly half that speed. Then I'd probably consider that even within the updates that have been delivered in that timescale, the most recent one included a version of a gameplay addition that was cut down so heavily from the originally suggested content that it's almost a parody. Then I might think that given what we've seen around timescale slippage in the only one of FDev's three current projects that has been around long enough for us to...

I don't have advanced PAs so I can't compare. I can tell you that you can fire them indefinitely without overheating or draining your capacitor and that in a ship as manoeverable as a Vulture it's about as much fun as you can have with your clothes on. As for the mods, I always have enough materials for reloads so I don't care about plasma slug; both OP and I have one with target lock breaker and one with dispersal field, so depending on which one hits, either your enemy loses lock on you or they keep lock on you but can only shoot you with fixed weapons. Bear in mind here that you're in a Vulture... Considering that all you need to roll efficient grade 5s is Cadmium, unexpected emission data and proto heat radiators, none of which are terribly hard to get, plus the fact that they're one of the rare engineering upgrades that have no negative effects at all as part of the default changes (see below - I actually rolled a class 4 tonight with secondaries that reduced mass, increased armour piercing and...

...and yet had completely passed me by. Probably because it apparently won't be visible as a total eclipse here in the UK. Oh and it's going to be sunset where I live when it happens so yeah, that's the hype train right off the tracks chez Anders.

This may be a dumb question but it just occurred to me - are you in live or beta? I know your bug report shows 2.3.x and your original thread was on the main forum not the beta section but if nothing else it could explain the differing government types because the beta uses a snapshot of the server taken some time ago, usually a week or two I think. If the government type had changed in the live game since then, it wouldn't be reflected in the beta data. I have no idea what effect it has on the BGS and whether it could also explain why all your systems show a state of 'none' but since the beta build can't possibly be allowed to update the live game's BGS, either they mirror it or it just doesn't work I suppose. I don't have beta access so I can't add anything of value past that guess.

PC. That is weird for sure, I'd stick a post in the bug report forum about it: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/forumdisplay.php/105-PC-amp-Mac-Bug-Reports Depending on what they say (or if you don't get a reply within a decent timescale) you might also want to consider a support ticket which you can do here: https://support.frontier.co.uk/topic.php

No shortage of states other than 'none' Also specifically systems in 'outbreak': Those are from, well however long it took me to log in and post them to imgur ago, three minutes maybe. I highlighted one for you there, check what your map shows for Kui 11.

No it wasn't. Nothing in the shop suggested that it was for a limited period only, i.e. that it could never be sold again. They were simply time limited and removed at the end of that period. Let's wait until Christmas and see if they magically reappear along with the full set of Black Friday paints.

If he's had the game for 18 months and has genuinely never progressed past novice, he's redefining 'casual' mate. An hour every three months whether he's bored of it or not? :D A revert is a possibility for sure but if he'd previously played for long enough to have a higher rank that surely just makes it more bizarre that he would be throwing hackusations around? Can't say that I'm forming a different opinion of him here.

Hmmm. Novice ranked but flying a Cobra Mk 4 which says he's had the game for at least 18 months, so that's either an account reset (ironman maybe?) or someone who does basically no combat at all. Either way, clearly a bit of a fool. I have to assume the name is ironic, definitely more Goose than Maverick.
