    I love open ended games where I can just explore and really not have to think much about it, but discover really cool things (systems and planets and views in this case). Space Engine is great and beautiful, but it lacks the fun of doing it as you can in Elite where you feel you are in the ship compared to just being a ghost flying where ever you want and when. Also I like hunting for those materials in the SRV, it's like searching for Easter Eggs and it's a fun feeling when you find what you're looking for after awhile. Finally, because I haven't found a good Space Game since Terminus or Space Rogue and I was really missing that...

    Best part of ED. Not being forced to play with other people. I hate online MMO's, I just want to enjoy my own world. I spend enough time with people outside of the game, so this is the only time I do get to spend it with myself. Like many others, if ED was just Open only, a large user base wouldn't be playing at all from the start. Plus there are too many annoying people that play in Open and I don't need that crap...

    These aren't game breaking or anything other than those simple annoyances you just hate when it happens: Here are a few of mine that drive me nuts and just curious what others just hate when it happens: 1) Landing and getting the "Alignment Ok", but I still can't land and have to maneuver my ship or find another landing spot (worse on rocky terrain) 2) Going full speed in an SRV ready to make that awesome jump, only to be slightly bumped by a tiny rock or indentation on the ground and spinning out right before the jump 3) Being interdicted fractions of seconds away from jumping out of SC when arriving at your destination

    Though there are the lists people have shown. You can easily get them from any Medium security +, ++ or +++ bases. This lists (with links) that have been mentioned are just ones that people have tried out. They reset after I think 2 weeks and are random on what you get. I've been on my own loop before and gotten them at sites that others haven't in those lists. I generally just use those loops in the list mentioned, but anytime I see any Medium Security bases I check them out and often they aren't protected zone ones (the only ones you can't scan). That's the easiest way and you can get a ton of MEF's in a short amount of time (2 weeks or so I got about 18 in 8 bases scans). Hobb's Hope Yes the name changed and yes last night I was finding a lot of Chem Manipulators, though I was just looking for Polymer Capacitors and had to ignore the Chem Manipulators as my inventory was getting too full, but they're there and not that hard to come across...

    Yes I noticed while mode switching that Open was pointless to try. I thought the issue would be people shooting their SRV's at each other, but it was just the collection that made it worse. I was able to do it with just using Solo and Private mode and took awhile, but they do spawn in the locations mentioned on the map with the updated link below (this is the new updated form and maps): https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/368279-UPDATED-List-of-Materials-at-DAV-S-Hope(Pictorial)

    I just got 12 from Dav's/Hobb's Hope just now. They aren't as common as the others, and takes awhile to get a bunch, but they're there from time to time. I wanted to try it out compared to CZ's and find the CZ's are still easier to get them...

    Currently I have a spreadsheet that I take screen shots of all my modules in my ships and those in storage so I can see what I have and how I can swap things out. Having the preset would make that a whole lot easier than having to have different pages for different builds and finding which modules in storage go to what ship...

    Maybe the PAX missions never had them, I never looked at those at all as all I did was the Surface Scan missions and that's where I was seeing tons of EFC and had to start purging them. I'll be going back on my way back to Colonia and I'll stop by and get some scan credits going and see if I see any in the regular mission board at all...

    I've only bought the Corvette. When I got the ranks for the Cutter I had realized at the time, the last thing I want to do is be a trader which is pretty much what I was finding a Cutter pretty much is good for other than maybe an over priced miner. Maybe if I'm bored one day I'll engineer a Cutter for that, but I'm in no rush...

    Ok grat to hear, I'll just try that without Thermal Vent, unless I get it or another one on the roll. If not I'll leave them without any effects. Don't feel like grinding for those 6 rolls to get back up to G5 for each one to get the vent...

    Did you use thermal vent at all with your OC beams? And what kind did you use? Fixed/Gimballed or Turreted?

    I axed the SLF and went with Hull reinforcements. Tried out the 2 Huge MC's and 5 Turreted Efficient Beams (large and 2 med using thermal vent) and realized I might be better off using gimballed and using FA off more often. Shields were taking awhile to go down, but was having no heat or any dist draw issues at all. So here's a question, would an overcharged large gimballed beam be any good? I always see people using Efficient and that's what I've generally used in past ships, but was curious if I made this OC and the others efficient if that might help? I figure if I can get the large and 2 med lasters gimballed that would help regardless and then I could just make the 2 small ones turreted beams to add the thermal vent or something?

    That's what I'll look for then. Just gotta find a good system. And with the FDL, that was my first combat ship, so I've been using that for quite a long while now. Time for something different and this is where the Corvette might be a fun alternative...

    Nope I'm all by myself. But since I only do PvE anyways, I'll probably even skip on the SCB and just fill up with Hull and module reinforcements instead. That way I even drop down to a lighter bulkhead...

    Well then you settled my dilemma then on which option loadout to use. So I'll take your suggestion then and just do the Huge MC's and rest as turreted beams. That way I can still use the SLF as I found out you can use it without hiring a crew member if you have turreted weapons on the mother ship...

    Looking at all these suggestions and I'm probably going to go with either A or B A) 2x Huge overcharged MC's (one corrosive, one autoload) 5x efficient turreted beams (few with Therm Vent) or B) 2x Huge Turreted efficient Beams (Thermal Vent) 5x MC's (one being corrosive and others autoload)

    Well I can make my billions back doing what I always have done, but I wanted to do it using my vette in combat. SLF: You know I've been meaning to research this as I assume I'd have to hire crew for these and they cut into my profits. I figure I just do PVE, so maybe I don't really need it as much? I'll try it with and without and see how it goes. Weapons: Yes going to try either 2 MC's on the Huge and rest turreted beams (I am bad with fixed) or 2 huge beams and the rest MC's. Haven't quite decided and most likely will have to just try out both and just see what I like better.,,
