    It's the Bourne series. As you say, it's a Universal Studios film, releasing in 2018. But you haven't considered: It's not got a game for it yet (Jurassic park has either now or in the past) and it can use work on The Outsider as it's near identical in story. And if it is Bourne ...     Complete hogwash. I've been here since kickstarter and deeply involved with the game via this forum and others. The consensus was that blocking was comms only and it was brought to light by two players demonstrating the feature a year or two ago. I also remember a thread where a dev mentioned it was working as intended, again over a year ago. My point has been made, everyone can read the thread and make their own conclusion. Pretending you don't know what that point is indicates your ultimate intent here. I can understand why blocking must be important to a person such as yourself.

    You didn't address my question about knowing information prior to purchase. Opting out of PvP was the solo or PG mode, nobody knew blocking was going to do anything except for in game comms (for abuse purposes). You also just admitted to "sciencing" the block function recently; basically as you have become aware of it. Your replies remind me of brown sauce - suspiciously tangy yet perfect with porky pies.

    I seem to recollect that you've been playing the game for quite a while and I also recollect that everyone thought the block feature was only relevant for comms in game until about a year or so ago. I remember seeing the reddit post about demonstrating blocking also affecting instancing becoming famous. So where did you find this information prior to purchase? Especially as you've just dismissed small print associated with games a few posts up.

    A forum style, low wake evasion. ;) Contradictory and confusing elements abound in ED - I'm still at a loss about how the karma C&P is even relevant now that we can block in open. It does seem to make any development time investment on such a system pointless. As I stated initially, too many playstyle choices are spoiling the game; especially the free range, emergent style.

    Unless someone poses as an innocent trader, of course, and gets on the friends list. Let's be honest, these so called 'greifers' are nothing if not devilishly creative and intelligent. In game evasion and protection mechanics have been designed and implemented for a reason. Modes have been established for a reason. Are you really of the belief that manipulating friend/block lists is more emergent and compelling than engaging with the contextual gameplay?

    This ^^^ When I die, I'd like a community goal to transport biowaste to Earth, and dump it on the house (in-game) where I lived in real life, as I have given out so much biowaste to people I deserve nothing less than to get it all back when I die.

    Indeed and exactly. Hence, why have a blocking dilution in an open mode? The OP's intentions are doomed to failure due the blocking feature, which will no doubt be utilized by their opponents. Innocent traders will still be interdicted and destroyed in open. Emergent gameplay foiled by a profusion of diluting choices.

    Choice is all well and good but it can become detrimental too, especially if choices become too abundant. In regards to the idea of an open mode within the game, how far does this idea of player control have to be saturated with choices for play style? The so called emergent gameplay relies on some control being wrestled from the player by other players actions. If that can be bypassed in a mode that should be fully permitting such actions, it dilutes the idea of challenge, danger and ingenuity. In my opinion, of course.

    Interdict - interrupt - disengage . . . get blocked. Not sure this blocking feature has been thought through very well for the multiplayer aspect.

    you will get better and if nothing else you will be better then the new guys when ED is released, although having said all that, the Imperial paranoid in me questions whether you are telling the truth and perhaps your Commander snuffler!...what is your cmdr name in game?
  8. LOL Perseus. It's not sensitive Federal info. Although I did join the alpha I really suck as a pilot and am finding it hard to control my ship with any amount of skill. I only play about 30 mins per day (if that) and usually in Impeccable Defence. I don't attack human players if I can help it. You're safe with me.
