    Maybe some of the mission you take involve killing federation ships? So you might be getting a one step forward two steps back effect on your federation repuation. Dunno just speculating. Getting many fines? Scanned by secuirity while carrying stuff you shouldnt?

    Much more experienced players gave me this advice which I will pass on to you: Unbind your "jettison" button and never use it again. I have been playing for a year and a half and have never, ever jettisoned any cargo. Either kill the pirate or run away. o7

    Donation missions are repped Rep+, Rep++ and Rep +++. While the number of plusses is based on the amount of the donation, the bump in REP is based on the number of plusses, not the amount of the donation. So a 25,000 Rep+ donation might be worth a 1% bump in REP while a 1,000,000 Rep+++ is probably only worth 3%, proportional to the + signs, not the amounts. That is why , as in life you have to pick your level of donation and skip the rest until you have enough credits that you can say "1,000,000 credits? Who cares?!" and toss that money down the drain. I have well over a billion credits and I still watch my donations, generally I will not donate higher than 100,000 but sometimes, if I am close to ranking up I will spend the extra credits. o7

    An Asp-X runs the rares CG quite nicely, only need 32-48 tons depending on whether you want to wait for the fireworks, those are the least profitable item and why that is the only one filling only 4 at a time after a 15 minute run in SC I do not know but if you skip the fireworks you only need 32 tons at a time. Once you have the discovery data for one run you can store the ADS. I ran the rares CG for just a few hours and made the top 10%. I am switching ships back and forth, running the rares CG in my Asp-X and switching to my Python for the Aegis CG. If you find someone blocking hte pad just switch to SOLO, drop off your cargo and switch back to OPEN mode. o7

    Cutter, will pay for itself quicker adn the jump range is far better. Failing that I suggest that you go for the one that will be easiest for you to unlock first, based on your current ranks and reputation

    I made my decision by trying both ships in BETA testing where ships are often sold for 10% of their in-game value. During my testing I determined I wanted the Corvette first and so I did that, then ground for the Cutter and got that. o7

    I am making good money switching between the 2 CGs. I am in the top 10% of the rares CG, making a bit over 600,000/lap in my Asp-X and for now, ignoring the fireworks outpost because of the 600,000+ LS run in SC and the 30+ minute wait time to get 16 tons. In that amount of time I can make 2 more runs to the other 2 stations and make over a million credits. I am also currently in the top 25% of the Aegis CG making a bit over 600,000/lap running beryllium, a 3-jump route in my Python. Both CGs have runs so short I left the fuel scoop at home, I can fly home and change out the ships as necessary. o7

    Running a ship full of cargo without shields is taking the short bus to the rebuy screen. In that scenario you would be better served by playing the interdiction mini-game and winning, then continuing to your destination. o7

    I had a similar, odd experience. Cargo was empty so dropped in on a USS, Distress call, threat level 2. Found 2 ships, a Python and an Asp, I scanned both, both wanted. Neither ship even scanned me, just took off and jumped away. No wreckage or cargo to plunder, though. o7

    I found a 3-jump (Python) route, am delivering 228 tons of beryllium to Cremona and profiting a bit over 600,000 per lap. As far as waiting for landing clearance, if the pad is being blocked I just switch over to SOLO, make my delivery then switch back to OPEN. o7

    I haven't done it myself but there are YouTube videos of teams fighting Thargs using Corvettes. Thing is, you won't be outrunning anything and frankly, IMO the Corvettes shields and hull are just not up to the task. In the videos I watched the Corvettes hulls were taken down time and time again requiring fast runs to a station to get them repaired. I wouldn't want to try it in SOLO but hey, it is your billion credit ship. o7

    I don't always run beam-weapons but when I do, it is almost always efficient-modified beam weapons. But really, personal preference. Most ships tend to be a bit underpowered unless the power plant is A-rated and overcharge-modified. Even though my ships tend to be A-rated and the power plants overcharge-modified I almost always choose efficient beams. This way with pips set to WEPS it takes a long, LONG, LONG time to drain all the power from the WEPS capacitor. o7
