    That's not how it happens. If that would be a case, no complex software would ever be finished. You push it, you merge it, and yeah, in FD eyes most likely that effect of less colours where raised, but not good enough to block release. As many pointed out, that's how developers operate and you might not like it, but then again no one forces you to use software per se. It is just THAT complex.

    Do you get that everytime? Thats good advice, think i need to go back to the start again to get used to the new AI. Back to the Cobra MKIII or Vulture i think! How are you getting passenger missions so close as in distance needed to travel. Is it to do with your rank that allows these to become closer?     You are the one mate going around and going a bit overboard with speculation. If FD is aware about issue, and they have confirmed they consider it an issue, they will fix it when change allows it, period. If you think developers just ignore you or laugh at you or don't consider it an issue, then tell us so. It won't make it any more true, but at least you will be honest about pitch here. Also using coloured letters just to drive your point home at nauseum is really tiring. Rendering of universe is client side all the way.

    Lifetime pass was expensive enough for FD consider people having them being paid for any paid for expansions for game. As for delivery as long as content comes in timely fashion - and yes, stretching out Horizons was a bit much - it will be alight.

    Max, it is all fine, FD wants it to look better too :) GreyArea just relied that info what FD gave us. So it is quite complex issue, and not even a bug from development POV. From some of player POV it is a regression. Which is understandable.

    There were more small variations more visible. Now they are feel more monotone...which is fact more scientific precise, but FD never planned to do that...all they did was redesign material visual system, with performance in mind, which unfortunately removed those small nuances. That's what you get of trying to re-factoring and improving code for big game like this.

    You can dislike piracy and still support better consequences aka C&P which is definitely coming as confirmed by Sandro. You know, because it's a game, and while you might dislike someone acting like a devil, if game can pull off giving him second thoughts *in-game* (because you know reporting isn't really suitable in long term for that), then yeah, you can have them both.

    They have actually said that several weeks ago on this thread. Thing is it is not a bug, but unfortunate side effect of big code change. To get visual appeal as before they will need design new code change while keeping desirable effects - as performance - in check. It is not small task and definitely a rewrite of big part of code, thus not a subject of 2.4 release

    It is quite clear. FD is aware, solution is difficult (confirmed by several devs and community managers), and they are working on solution. That's end of it. It is also confirmed as not being in 2.4. So just keep cool and stop beating dead horse.

    Why are so many passenger missions 1000's of LY away?? How are people getting these so close to each other. Also i got my handed to me, i went into a conflict zone after 18 months of not playing in a fully A rated Anaconda. 18 months ago it was easy but know it seems the AI is different and so are the way the weapons work.... has happenend? I got owned by a single viper, also the shield boosters work differently. Alot has changed since i last played from what i can see..... Any help is greatly appreciated as this game has changed alot since i last played

    2.4 is part of Horizons. PS4 as far as I know also have two parts of game - base game AND Horizons - sold separately. So 2.4 won't cost additional moneyz if you have Horizons. So this is clarity. You get Horizons, you get 2.4 too.

    1) No it is not fair, but game rules allow it, and I personally think it is fine; 2) What's NOT fine is lack of consequences. Those are coming starting with 2.4 - better later than ever; So TLDR it is not fair, but it is allowed, consequences need a serious buff. I do like in-game consequences much better, even though they are even harder to make stick.

    Fun story - FD were genuinely interested to beat SC with delivery with ED Alpha 1 and Mike Evans have expressed satisfaction that they managed to do so. It was in 2013, *4* years ago.

    LOL. So. Much. This. When everyone suggests player economy, I know *exactly* they want - it is gang wars by proxy, because player economy suggests control over resources, etc. Who cares economy does not work right in game? Most important I can blow this big opponent's ship which he worked endless hours or paid real money for. Afaik even EVE devs have fingertip on scale. 'Player driven economy' my backside. Give me good, smart NPC driven economy with interesting opportunities here and there and I am set. ED is not completely there yet, but they have lot of components to make it trough. Afaik SC latest trading pitch was also this mixed type of economy.

    And devs not rely on regular subs and they scale their infrastructure and thus save lot of costs during silent periods. That's like FD have actually planned this. I know, shocker.

    Regular measurements of ED stats show player login at very different times and actually are very spread out over whole week. There's estimate about 100k players playing on weekly basis on PC alone. Also Milky Way galaxy is just huge.

    Most likely ED success in eyes of FD is measured by active players, players coming back on regular basis, and very importantly MT sales. Units sold alone - with all scepticism regards Horizons worth and people requesting other, more interesting features before upgrading to expansions - confirms that ED is very healthy and is not going away any time soon. If you want to express scepticism only because you think shrinking game will force FD to do your bidding - stop it. It is silly premise, but I know for some reason lot of gamers thinks it has some merit. Core improvements is coming. Thargoids is coming. Game is on right path. FD, keep it coming.

    Remember time 2 years ago when CIG actively used current pop trends to advertise SC, almost at cringe level? Remember Best Space Sim Ever claim? I just googled Planet Coaster casually and actually laughed out loud seeing FD poking fun at CIG and SC with Google ad for Planet Coaster :D

    Nice to see adding PS4 platform has increased sold units considerably for ED. Also Planet Coaster selling 1M units in 6 months is impressive, well done.

  3. Hi I am Nats, a long time Frontier and First Encounters fan. Been visiting this forum for around 8 years now looking for news on Elite 4 - still can't really believe it is actually getting made at last.

    I have loved being part of the Elite Dangerous Kickstarter it was certainly quite a ride, especially having a laugh with the other fans in the comments section - the Monty Python bit must be the highlight for me, other than the first day and the fantastic ending of course. But I also very much enjoyed seeing the Elite 4 project gradually come to life from basically nothing to a fully fledged game concept over the length of the Kickstarter.

    I can't wait now for 2014 and especially looking forward to that planetary landing expansion when it comes along !!

Started computer gaming with the ZX81 then the Spectrum but it wasnt till I played games like Frontier, X-Wing and Wing Commander on my Amiga that I got started getting hooked on computer games - mainly space and flight sims. And then First Encounters came and it was even better. Then space and flight sims as computer games died. I dropped into the Frontier forums religiously every year after, waiting for news on Elite 4, pestering David Braben quite a bit with constant 'where is it' questions.

I bought into Elite Dangerous just after the Kickstarter finished, during Standard Beta, and it hasn't disappointed. Main thing I am waiting for are the planetary landings, which I loved most in the earlier games.

Things I would liike added to the game: planet landings/busy spaceports, better external view system with landing/chase view, Thargoids, human presence, busy spacestation docks, better missions, spaceship crew, passengers, cargo life support.
