FDev could use the same process that keeps a player from doing the RTR more than once. One is only allowed to buy one cup from the station and could either sell it somewhere for profit or turn it in at the FDev store for a bobble head.

Correct, only one allowed from the station, and get a choice sell it for a nice in game profit at some other station far away or redeem it at the FDev store for a bobble head.

Thanks all for the chat - especially Nemo. So...back to my question and potential answer. The answer seems to be that ELWs exist in the stellar forge generally accumulated around F, K, G, A and M class stars in varying proportions and that the accumulated average likelihood of finding an ELW at random is around 0.2%. Irrespective of the stellar science around real life ELW formation and orbital mechanics, does anyone know, or can point to a scientific article that provides what our real world best estimate of the occurrence of ELWs is in the Galaxy to compare with the rate that stellar forge uses (0.2%) to see if stellar forge is re-producing ELWs at a higher or lower rate of frequency?

While it's true one doesn't actualy get a mug, they can sell it for a good price depending on how far away from Hutton they do it. Getting back on topic, where would I sign up, count me in. I mean if they can wasted time and material makeing planets, then why not a mug or two. I would care for the cookie, it would attract ants and roaches. And inso much as crews are only good for fighting, there's no one to pick up the crumbs.

Post cards have two sides. Originally, they didn't have photos of any kind, both side were blank. Thus one could write a letter and mail it for less cost than inserting it into an envelope. As a kid in my youth, times were different, times were seemingly slower paced. Often the times I'd see the postman reading post cards sent from one family to another. I mean it was thee mode of communitcation for years. Though the telephone was availble to anyone that could afford it; My family was poor, so poor that even as full blooded German's we had to live in an Irish neighborhood. I grew up speaking in an Irish brogue. Which even today, if I drink too much, comes out in full force. Post cards were the only way to keep in touch, they only cost a penny and that included the postage.

The size and mass of such stars in additon to the distance to such star from ELW has to be in relationship to our own size and mass compared to that of our star. As much as we know todate, biological life forms as we know them can only exist in a live state of being within whats deemed as the goldie lock zone. Which based on ours is appoximately only 35 million miles wide. No orbit around the star can be a perfect circle such as they are in ED. It's the slightly oval orbit that gives Earths its ability to have climates. It's the constant climate changes that aided in the evolutional process that caused out existance form a single cell ameba to our present form. Then there's always the creation theroist whom state a supreme being in the sky did it all in a week. But to each their own. Thus in the game an ELW could exist, but not in reality. If the Earth would to slip a few miles outside of its orbital path around the star knowm as SOL. Either inward or outward, all of Earth biological life forms that were...

If one buys something for a single cr and sells it for two, they have made what is generally referred to as a profit. Profits ar consider income and thus become taxable in the real world. But can be offset by ones losses. Thus if one loose's a cr on one deal but makes one on another, they nullify each other. Thus a trader can work their butts off and still never aquire a net gain. Hence I've never done nor never will do any trading. A passenger payout isn't all profit, though reward differ, there's still expenses that have to be paid. Buying fuel vs scooping fuel effects one new worth, just like paying fines, bounties, rebuys, etc. So where as one has made billions in gross earnings, one's net worth can be only in millions. Right now, my records will show that as of todate my gross earnings are well over 5 billions, however, my net is presently ownly 1 billion. I lost the additonal difference that lead to my promtion to Elite buy having to do some repairs to my ship, paint, fell out of cruise wrong, a couple...

Having made enought cr's isn't the only factor, one must have also earned enough reps. Though we both may qualify by haveing ment the monitary requirement, if your reps have aveerage one or two per mission and myne have average two or three, guess who's gonna get promoted first. The opposit can be true also, if we both have the required reps and you have a single cr less than I, then I get promoted first. The type of mission doesn't matter, the rewards and reps offered vary from broker to broker. Sometime even if your allied with a particular broker, a different one has a better offer in the form of reward and or reps. The REF's relate to how happy the customer is in there report to the broker in regards to your service. Thus abandoning a mission at a dock is far better than not compling with their suggestions. Hence I do not ever unless I'm involved in a tourist mission, acknowled non tourist in anyway shape or form. One is not obligated except in tourist missions do acknowledge passengers that change the...

Through hard work and a lot of boom and data missions during the first two weeks after launch. I manage to by an Orca. And though I had a wee bit of experience hauling passenger's from a to b. I thought I'd try my hand at doing a tourist mission in which one has to return to get paid. I've forgotten the name of the system, but it was only one jump from the star. Loaded up my passenger who was willing to pay my first ever million plus reward, and jumped. Going from short little hops in the bubble to that required for Hutton was a real surprise. Thinking the game messed up because I didn't have any idea as to what 0.22ly actualy ment. I rebooted the game and was put right back into the same instance as I had left. Twenty minutes later, I seeemingly wasn't any closer. But continued any way. Eventuall got there, scan the dam beacon everyone was happy. But to my surprise, an Orca couldn't land because of it's size. The trip back to the starting destination only takes a few minutes. And upon getting paid, I...

Realizing it's only a game means it possible for every planet in the galaxie to be a Earth like planet. But, the majority of all ELW's and I haven't seen all of them, are not in a Goldie Locks Zone. And in most cases don't even have a star (Sun) capable of providing a Goldie Lock Zone. In order for a real ELW to exist, it would have to be in such a zone. Biological life forms need certain criteria to exist which can only be possible when the planet is the right distance from the right type of start. Hence anything else make biological life forms impossible. I mean trees, insects, water, and animals, need o2 in just the right proportions to exist. If a planet is too close or too far even from a capable star, the criteria need for such an existance could not exist. There's a theory that "MAN" orginally came from Mars. Though not in our current state of being. The Martians who came here, basically over time and effort, evolved into what we are today. And in the process, over the eons of centuries lost any...

Delivery missions - sure - maybe a couple of million credits - nothing noteworthy. Not a CEOS or SOTHIS or anything like that, just want I needed to rank up with a few factions. Mining - no. Data courier missions - again a few mill = nothing to write home about - sum total of all types of missions maybe a hundred mill? BUT - I tell you what I have done that isn't trading in my opinion and doesn't generate 'profit' but it does generate income... The Guardians. Done it twice. So its income generated not TRADE PROFIT generated. Clear as mud.

Which just does to show how many times people can be avoidably wrong. If you looked at the evidence supplied you would see this is incorrect. Explain to me HOW I can be ranked Tycoon if I have only made 5 million in profit from trading? Clearly there must be a bug at work for this to be the case if you need more than $368 million in trading profit to be ranked Tycoon? OR, more plausibly, it has NOTHING TO DO WITH TRADE PROFIT and is linked to NET WORTH...hmmm, fancy that.

Just like the indicator for Federal or Empire ranking stop at a 100 percent until one gets the reps one needs to fill out the rest of the requirment. So does the pilots status. One may have enough cr's but not enough reps to be promoted. And though it's listed as assets, one net worth is the amount one needs in addition to reps. The one main difference between getting a promo from the military and the pilot's federation is, one can actually buy some rep in the form of donations. Having the money and tired of the grind, I basically bought my Rear Admiral position using donations. I dontated an excess of 300 million just in that one ranking, the one before was a wee bit less coming in at 250 million. Which cut into my net worth and subsequently slowed my pilot status journey. Having a billion and a half in cr's I donated almost 800 million thus making my journey to RA consideraly shorter. But then that droped the 1.1 billion I needed to advance from tycoon to elite. I had sufficent reps, I didn't have...

So, a question for explorers and astronomers. I just been exploring around outside the bubble for a couple of weeks and have been to a few hundred systems as a result. In all that time I have found maybe 2 or 3 ELWs. So my question is: is stellar forge being stingy on the ELWs? Does anyone know what the generation percentage of ELWs in the stellar forge galaxy is - 0.1%, 0.01% etc.? Secondly, how does this compare with what modern astronomy is telling is ought to be the ocurrence of ELWs in the galaxy? Answers on postcard please...

Dont misunderstand - ranking doesn't fall. But then you need to get back to were u were. I am inclined to agree with Nemo and its not quite back balance but net worth that his the deciding factor. For example my net worth is 397 million - so I am tycoon, my cash is 120 million, I have made 5 million trading. Its all net worth - nothing to do with trade profit as far as my consoles are telling me.

My experience and that of Nemo prove that this is not true - it is not Profit it is bank balance. Nemo made over 3 million credits trading and whatnot but did not achieve Elite until his bank balance exceeded 1 billion credits? That is not PROFIT that is BALANCE. I had at one stage over 500,000 credits very little of which was actually earned by trading and I am at Tycoon. I now have a little over 100 million credits but I have earned and traded a few hundred millions since that time and my %age towards Elite has not changed one percentage point - this is because it relates to BALANCE not total profit of goods and services traded. In any event i am about to return back to the bubble with a truck load of scanned system data, most of which are undiscovered, so I will see what this does to my bank balance and my tycoon rank. I do not think the money earned will take me over 500,000 credits so, if i am correct, my trade rank will not be affected. This is not taking into account what will happen to my...

Passenger mission distance is not a factor. The amount of cr's and or the reps given are. In the beginning one doesn't need as many reps nor cr's to advance quickly. But each promotion is harder to fullfill than the last. One needs more reps by the correct faction and a certain amount of cash in the bank which can include ship values. Refered to as assets. Though one may have sufficent reps, one can be lacking in cr's or visa versa, thus no promotion until the've both been met. Unless one can stack two or more, long distant passenger actualy pay less cr's because one has to return to get paid in full, thus the reward offered is really only half. Every offer comes with a deceision to be made. Cr's or reps, sometimes one can be offered a good reward and multiple +'s. And the distance is realitvely short. Fastest way to rank up in the military or obtaining a higher pilots status. Is short missions with multiple +'s. Like data missions. They don't pay as well, so where as one may have sufficent reps, they...

You obviously had a lot of experience prior to playing on the ps4. I'd concur that your not alone, there are a large number of not so noobs here. Coming over from the other platforms gives one a hugh head start. Unlike us real noobs, experienced player have a specific agenda, and simply carry it out. They are aware of the ins and outs, ups and downs. And can go in a much more direct fashion. All the while we noods are running around like chickens with out heads cut off, banging into stuff thus it's a very crooked path we weave. But still, it's an accomplishment, few regardless of experience will ever accomplish. Congrats to you sir/madam or... for a job well done.

On my way back from said area - i feel your pain. I found that working my way around the permit locked sectors out there meant that i had to plot routes in 200 - 300 ly increments to find a route around. The obvious issue is that it CAN be done by a human but the computer CANT. One hopes the 20,000 ly plotter has a better algorithm to figure out routes or its benefit may be outweighed by its failings in certain sectors of space.

I believe ya, the record will show since launch, I made three billion plus cr's. The record would also show, that I spent the majority of it on fines, bounties, ship resales, mods, numerious rebuys, etc. I just now made Elite as a trader. My total net, (Cash and ships) just passed passed 1.1 billion cr's a few hours prior to my making Elite. Every thing I did along the line of hauling passengers and or data was going direct to my trade status once I went over 1.1 billion. Where as prior to that, it took on average 40 missions to move one percent. I'd agree, though you can make billions, one had better save it or the status of Elite just won't happen. One has got to watch their cash flow, and make sure to save the majority. I assumed it was based on total gross, it seems to be based on total net which includes assets like ships. Just don't sell the ships or it goes under the title of cash flow. Thus my buying, test driving and reselling ships has in addition to the 10 percent resale cost, a considerably...
