One can go back and forth between open, solo and or a private group such as Mobius anytime of their choosing. Nothing will change, everything you've accomplished bad or good or indifferent exist in any of the area's of play. I started in solo and after the first two months ventured out into the open. And nothing changed. The main difference between open and solo is, in solo you are the only human. In open, humans are fair game to other humans. Thus in solo, one can kill themselves and or be killed by an NPC. In open, one can kill themselves, and or be killed by NPC's and other humans. Mobius is played in the open, but they have one rule and it's strickly enforced. "Don't spoil another player's game". So, if and when your ready, you can test the waters anytime you wish. And should you not be ready for the deep end yet, you can go back to solo at anytime. Nothing you have done will be compromised in any way, your ship, credits, fines etc.

TLNTDR (too long no time didn't read all). Waypoints - has this been discussed? over a long distance such as the 20K proposed it would be Highly Beneficial if you could mark way points you want to include - this could be bookmarked systems you already have in place, scoopable stars, POI's etc. So go to Galaxy Map mark first waypoint on your route - plot route - mark second waypoint - plot route - mark third and so on until you hit either a route failure or the 20k max.

YEP, she's the one, though I've kept my Python to do some combat training with. HINT: Entering or Exiting, Landing Gear UP. The Vette is really long and the landing gear locations cause one to have to go in or out a lot farther to avoid getting hung up. I just now made Vice Admiral. Whoopie for me, one more to go, then another dinner. The last until I make whatever the rank is that unlocks the cutter. I've havent' had any luck with either of the two engineers that can fix my fsd. I've made a total of 130 rolls between them and end up with nothing but wasted time. I was in love with and for the most part still am when it comes to the Python. But then I got the Vette. You've got one now, so you know, there's just no words that can explain it. It just rides and glides so nice. The motor just hums and the thruster have such a deep throaty sound. The vette is considerably wider and longer than the conda, but not as tall. The length and placement of the landing gear can and will get hung up in the...

You don't think the Feds and Imps aren't trying to salvage a Thargoid cruiser for their own uses? It makes more sense to get higher advanced tech 'given to you that works'; than trying to 'steal it and have it broken'. That's the problem with the shoot first and ask questions later policy - you never get to find out what you 'could've won' - its most certainly the most shortsighted political stance you can take. So far there has been no mass invasion, so mass retaliation is not warranted. Know your enemy - and at this stage we know worse than SQUAT - everyone is setting themselves up for failure rather than planning for success - typical really - Space Trump 'wins' again... even if it means 'losing' for a principle.

Everyone hears voices, and don't want to admit it. At my age, I no longer care what other may think. Some of the best conversations one can have is with themselves. That said, arguing with oneself does require some professonal help. I mean, even if ya win, ya still loose, and loosing is depressing. And depression is bad, Mm'kay.

An upgrade fsd from a 6 to a 7 for the Corvette. After all, it's longer, wider and weights considerably more than a Conda and the Conda has a 6. What's up with that. One has to jump through a lot of hoop to get a Vette, one only has to buy the Conda. Upgrading the fsd to a 7 would be such a big imporvement, that the Vette could become the sought after ship, even with the extra grinding one has to do to get it.

on this... I've been away exploring for a little bit - came back to get my merits up so i don't get demoted, and thought id do a spot of undermining while i was at it. Popped over to an AD control system and shot a guardian out of the sky - earned 30 merits for my chosen power (go me). BUT i also got bountied for murder and the sec forces all over my wotcha - is that new? I don;t recall getting bountied before for taking out a powerplay ship?

What's the Alliance doing out in the California nebula? Peace mission? I'd be in on that... maybe we can salvage something from the meatheads.

I'm in and out, mostly out. Dealing with all those extra crafts coming and going in and out the stations with absolutly no regards to other's causes me to get fines, which I then have to turn around and face the same music I just left. In all the time I was in Mobius, I only came across one human. He was in my presence for only a second or two. Recon he was a noob because had he scanned me, he'd known the Vette has no weapons. I can still get more done while in solo faster than in open. The trips from the star to stations isn't really any longer in distance on average than in solo, but the clock seems to be slower. Where as in solo, 3 to five minutes is a long time, in open, it seems to be the norm. I surprised my self, never thought I'd ever go into solo. And when I am, each time is extended a bit. Eventually it will be full time.

Nah, you'll get the T-10 Heaviest. Once a cube lover, always a cube lover. The Vette is a wedge, not a cube.

Which brings to mind the question: If I supposedly have attendents, why do the passenger ask me and not the attendents to sorce something. I'm not an attendent Jim, I'm the damm pilot.

Can't speak for any one else, but my ship is haunted. I had a few mission on board that were all data and such. Not one passenger. When someone came across the comm and start talking about a dam on board wedding. I asked the attendents and they had no idea what was going on either. Said something about a wedding that was postponed indeffinately because the ship had been destroyed when a pirate didn't get what he wanted in the time he alloted. I must have bought a used remodled ship. Though I did get a discount, being haunted the discount should have been bigger.

I did it in two sections, the first 220 was in a noisy stipped down Diamond Back. The rest a month later in a stripped down quiet Python. I installed the absolute minimim to make it go and got 46.5 for range. But like you said, I believe it will be short lived and die out with the next patch.

my internet conection is slower than a turtle in January, thus I rarely ever get a notice of intent by an interdictor until after the mini game is already in process. Thus because I am unable to respond to you in an short amount of time 10 to 15 seconds I believe you stated, you'll attempt to take me out. So basically if you don't get your own way, you will deliberately kill someone. Hence from mine and apparently other's your causeing grief, thus your a greifer. A rose by any other name is still a rose. Justify it any way you want, which is the trend today. But greifing is greifing, even if it's done in the name of piratcy. I mean any griefer could get away with griefing, even if it is a no no by fdev. I mean, if one is associated with at least one of the major factions, then there not griefing, there performing a duty in the interest of national security.

Dropping into low res' are a good place for noobs yes - just don't shoot the cops! its easy done and gets messy real quickly, also do nav beacons, drop in on a nav beacon and start scanning every ship u see - eventually you will get a WANTED target and off you go. TIP #1 - always ALWAYS, get behind your target before opening fire if they don't know you are coming at them - simple but effective!

I'm getting some dam good idea from all you guys, it would seem thus far that I'll need a couple of burst lazer and a couple of multi cannons to get me on my way as a noob combater. I'll start with those pesky npc interdictors, try some light bounty hunting until I can get my confidence up. The maybe a low res area after that. I do mostly passenger run but I see a lot of missions that lean toward the use of weapons to take out somethings on planets which I seem to go to the most. 90 percent of my mission are planetary mission, I haul a lot of pow's and such, and am constantly being interdicted. I figured if I learn to fight a wee bit, my combat rating would improve a bit. Do some bounty hunting and it will improve somemore. Tourist missions where as one has to return to the place they left, always has a lot of extra time involved with them. If and when I can't stack them, a little interdictor hunting or bounty hunting would fill the void. I've no real plan to ever be a pirate or such. But then agian, I...
