He was right, but he probably never thought it would actually happen to his project at that time. You only have to look around, new games coming out all the time, many of them with features like in SC. Star Marine, touted as one of the big features, is so far behind the rest of the FPS market its not even funny. They will use those same mechanics in the game (the same way that Arena commander brought the flight model to the main game - which is (subjective opinion) pants. Nothing new, nothing innovative, and yet they keep touting how what they are doing is new and innovative like nothing else done before.... and yet, its all been done before, except perhaps the number of refactoring of everything... not heard of any other project where things get refactored so much. As you say, every game has its detractors, but most games given time either completely fail or take off well enough to push the majority of detractors away or convert them. SC.... well, just keeps on going...

Ask on the star citizen reddit and prepare for the downvotes and flaming. They tend to get a bit touchy about this these days. Also you will get comments like: "It will be ready when its ready" "Its beta!" "Its alpha!" "CIG can take as long as they want in order to make the game perfect" "Most AAA games take at least 5... 10... 15 years to make!" "Go away troll"

Maybe something changed, possibly in relation to the massacre mission exploit, but it used to be there were massacre missions to be had whenever there was a war.

Wow Rinzler, you did it again, pushing the envelope of PvP. Great stuff. I'm amazed about those shields, the T9's shields are pretty squishy. That must be some top end engineering you've got there.

The "should" is subjective and rather depends on whether one considers that a requirement for PvP is acceptable. Frontier have not yet introduced any in-game content that requires PvP. They offered CQC / Arena as a pure PvP out-of-game addition - perhaps unsurprisingly it does not seem popular. Moving it to Open only would disenfranchise those who currently engage in Powerplay and have no interest whatsoever in direct PvP. Given that, from what Sandro has said, prioritising Dev time to Powerplay is already challenging due to the low player participation levels, forcing it into Open only and (very likely) further reducing participation doesn't sound like a good plan, to me at least....

Why do you think the devs don't want more ships? Comments on the topic of more ships from the devs have usually been along the lines of "probably, but not yet", at least in recent times. I mean, its not like we are lacking ships at the moment. More is good, but not essential. Plenty of other things for devs to focus on for the moment.

OP - FD have said more ships will probably come. There is no hoping to be doing, its going to happen. Its fairly certain the Panther Clipper will make an appearance at some point, and there are plenty of others they could add. If you look at the art book there are some ships in there that look suspiciously like the Gecko and the Krait. The main issue for FD is adding new ships that have a niche not already filled by another ship or three already.

Nope, all ok here. You might want to try the port forwarding trick, see if that helps you OP. If not, raise a ticket with FD. See if they can help you.

Quite interesting. Apparently been in development for 7 years on zero budget. http://store.steampowered.com/app/367270/Angels_Fall_First/ Unreal Engine, looks pretty decent, although it will largely depend on how the galeplay actually works.
