If you say so. Sadly, it means I wont read anything you post that'ts longer than a few words long. So your changing the colour of your text is more work for you, and you message is less well received by your audience.

Agreed. CG's were just the same existing grind, but in a place where grievers can have the most fun. I tired to remain positive in my posts, as when CG's came out, i had nothing against them. Only over time they've become just another example of an unfulfilled mechanic. One thing that bothers me with them is that once the "goal" is acheived the outcome is practically instant. The building of the megaship .... fill the bar, then the Megaship "pops" into existence. To me, this feels cheap. Why no show the megaship being build, showing it grow over time, rather than just fill in a bar. I know it;s more work, but it feels more rewarding. Seeing the incremental impace you're making... rather than just watching a graph change colour.

Which is nice, don't get me wrong. The new star graphics, the new station interiors, the Mission board faces are all fantastic additions (and to me, the best additions we actually had to the game). But they don't entice me to boot the game back up.

While I wont say the Mechanics are Rubbish, they're definitely half-baked. The core of the game is decent enough, but it needs refinement. There are ample examples of how improved game systems work, that don't resemble mobile game mechanics. As for patiently waiting, I've been doing that for 3 years, since alpha 2. Launch: Ok, cool, Already being described as a mile wide and an inch deep, but I'm sure it'll be be fleshed out, I'll just wait. Wings: This... kinda should have been in the base game, but I guess the MP'ers are happy so fine. CG's: Ah... a little but of world building, could be a giggle. Still no NPC Wings, or non-combat NPC interatction, sadly. PowerPlay: *Sound of something wet and viscous hitting the floor from a great height* CQC: Please wait, comment is matchmaking...... Horizons: Oh, landing on Planets. Cool, Now we're getting somewhere. No new game mechanics tho, just more locations for existing placeholder mechanics to happen.

You can pick up cargo but it won't fit through a docking collar? Injured combatants are envisioned as being moved to safety in another ship when they bleed out in 5 seconds? CIG want in-air refueling??? They envision moving items inside ships via EVA?

It is entirely possible though. You can have thousands of players in one gaming instance. You can have thousands of events going on at the same time in those instances. Genuine Roberts just has to invent faster-than-light-fibre, sign all his customers up to his special service, and let them all play the game! The fibre still won't reach the rack though :(

:D I see absolutely absolutely all of CIG's "netcode" as soon as it attempts to enter, traverse, or exit my boundary router. What special "netcode" delights do you think they have packed away for a rainy day? Are they really going to completely change their network architecture and implementation on a whim? Oh wait, there is still Item 2.0 to come.

It doesn't quite work like that. You have midpoint "overtakes" that are located between your main points of useage concentration. They absolutely would not be in the US, Europe, or Australia. All the overtakes do is pass high priority events to all servers, and it's left up to the servers themselves to decide wether a new incoming event from a client or overtake takes priority. They then wait for client answer, server answer, and if the high priority event doesn't make sense for both then the overtake shuts up and waits for the next opportunity to try and speed things up. Mind you - with CIG's Netcode(tm) in the state it is - I don't have much faith in their ability to deliver a tiered priority solution.

To be fair though - what they say they want to do is entirely possible. Banks do it all the time. You won't get be able to do much with each connected client though, and X number of clients will only see fake Y clients for security and performance purposes, but for a glorious 15 seconds, CIG could actually have up to 128000 players in the same place at the same time :D

I heard it wasn't going to happen with 2.3 (which was Multi-pew focused). I've never seen it ruled out totally, and there are DDF threads on the matter, so I really really doubt it has.

This doesn't really feel fair. Season 3 isn't for sale, and to be honest, I'd love to see some season 3 info.

Have mentioned this before, ive been on zero hours contract eleven years, and love it for the flexibility it gives me in juggling other parts of my life. The recent news about offering people like me regular hours after a certain time i think is great(i wont want it) but good for others who need to secure mortgages, loans etc. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-40005502 .......oops sorry just saw you had already mentioned the McDonalds news :) Talarin makes some good points which i agree with, no need to ban them just because of bad press, just offer an alternative that keeps all sides happy.

I didn't say they lack enthusiasm, I said someone with MORE should get a go at making decisions about the mechanics of the game. Also, just FYI, have 3 updates out of 7 that evidence it. And the Largest update, RNGineers was a massive unplayable chore when it did release. And the of the other 4 updates, 2 of them really should have been in the game at launch. Also, clearly there is a need to change people.

FTR, Mass Effect Andromeda never had any DLC planned. No seasons pass was sold with the game for this very reason.

Staffing issues? Who said anything about staffing issues? Needing fresh heads at the top is about adding fresh idea to the game and not about staffing issues. The minds that brought us CQC, Powerplay, RNGineers (at launch) and Multi-crew (if you can call it that) IMHO, need a new project to work on and stretch themselves, while someone with more enthusiasm for the gameplay has a crack.

Funny, I remember the same claim back when the Xbone version was being developed. Then we got CQC.

I've never seen anyone calling for devs to be fired, but I have personally called for fresh heads at the top. Not for lead devs to be fired, but perhaps to be rotated out to other projects, and let some young blood take a stab.

    1) Coms: The ability hail an NPC and demand they drop cargo, offer assistance, and so on. Like the Old wing commanders used to do. 2) NPC Wings: Since NPCs can already follow you across mutiple systems, and join you instance (usually to attack you) I see no reason why NPC wings don't already exist. 3) NPC crew: Long overdue. These 3 things will add a whole lot of life to Elite.

Welcome Commander! Thankful to have you onboard and kudos for contributing to Elite. Fly safe, drive dangerous and good luck with your cosmic undertakings. The Galactic AcademyMentors will set you up for initial play-through and beyond. The following thread will help you find collaborative game-play and some. The single best recommendation is to seriously take your time and experiment before you commit or switch between game-mode and play style. Don’t be afraid of a do-over or two and if needs be ‘clear your save’ can be found in-game under options menu. The most awesome gamepad software ever: Padstarr, Grifta Morphing Gamepad, TobiiEyeX Controller, ECHOTalkative AI VoiceAttack with HCSVoicepacks are highly commended for extensively enriching game-play and more. Have fun acclimating, play-testing and configuring your control schemes to benefit you specifically long-term while you carry on with all-out seeking fortune and fame. The secret to piloting is persistence with mastering: sweet-spot...
