+ 1. A worthy endeavor if ever there was! Here's a link to a list of them. It shoudl has just about all of teh current ones on there. https://eddb.io/station 66,000+ Say 5 a day every day and you shoudl be finished in about 36 years. I think they might be add some more ...or maybe we'll lose some to Fly safe!

My main ISP did a similar thing last night - about 4 hours total inability to support usual performance.

Well, if nothing else, that is some progress at least. There might be a glimmer of hope for HOTAS in this lulzbucketry after all.

Does anyone know if the HOTAS setups they have are actually being used during this "demo", or is everyone on KB&M / Xbox controller?

Can someone please explain the trading card thing in detail? I can't watch anything till I get home - but that particular gem made me splutter coffee all over my surface pro :D I predicted such nonsense years ago :D

Doesn't seem to take very long at all. They're able to get from the light to dark side of the moon within a few minutes, so either the ships are incredibly fast or the moon is very small.

To be fair, they're ostensibly doing that to swap people over on the demo booths. Ensures that everyone starts in roughly the same place.

It does look a lot like if you removed the planet it would fly exactly the same, though that's probably unfair without actually experiencing it. I like the "inner thought" idea, but it looks like it needs refinement. Seems fiddly to pick from the presented options. Also not convinced about presenting all the options for turning on ship subsystems but allowing you to skip them through a button press. Feels like bet hedging. Once more, everything looks lovely but there's still no gameplay loop. People just flying /driving over a featureless moon.

Trading card with a QR code that leads you to a "super secret" ship sales page. Followed by a ship commercial. One does get the impression that this is all about the money. :-/

Welcome Commander! Grateful to have you onboard and thank you for contributing to Elite. Hopefully the following links will prove useful; link, link, link. If in doubt please post in the following thread and file a support ticket using your store login credentials. Fly safe, drive efficiently and good luck with your cosmic goings-on. The Galactic AcademyMentors will set you up for initial play-through and beyond. The following thread will help you find platform specific game-play and some. The single best recommendation is to seriously take your time and experiment before you commit or switch between game-mode and play style. Don’t be afraid of a do-over or two and if needs be ‘clear your save’ can be found in-game under options menu. Have fun acclimating, play-testing and configuring your control schemes to benefit you specifically long-term while you carry on with all-out galactic diplomacy. You spent five years in game development. You just don't understand game development. Genuine Roberts is a perfectionist

And in my opinion - there's nothing wrong with that if the purchaser wishes to spend $400. Logically though, buying a $400 ship to play with in a game that hasn't progressed past pre-alpha, that has no game loop in which to perform it's intended function, where there are no game mechanics in which that intended function could even be possible, that where you continually t-pose through the mesh of said ship, and where there is absolutely no clear evidence that the situation will improve any time soon, we simply have to look at the facts of the matter. My lulzbucket exploded. I rest my case.

Well, the real beauty of opinions is that they are opinions, and are all just as valid as each other. Actual logic is a vicious beast though, which is why it needs gates :D

I use the trims for firegroups and sensor zoom, the slider for cargo scoop, and the left under-button for next destination select - it's handy as it's just a full thumb-down to hit.

You can certainly use the wheels as any inputs you want - but for me at least, it's awkward as anything. Someone somewhere out there though is undoubtedly laughing at me as a wheel-noob though.

You'd do a far, far better job than what CIG have previously demonstrated :D I'll volunteer to move your racks around so that they reach the fibre. No need for site surveys, safety loops or anything - let's just put a 300 degree bend in those optical babies and yes! 3 quid 6-plugs from Tesco are perfectly acceptable.

That's.... really quite disturbing. CIG apparently have the best marketing department ever, why would it need any help from anyone else, especially somewhere that the more "enthusiastic" backers have decried as urm, someplace irrelevant to everything.

It's a bit of a motley crew though - I can see a X52, X52 Pro, X56 - you would have thought they would have a default configuration and a stock setup so each build wouldn't need customised driver installs for each model, and each machine painstakingly paired to it's peripherals somewhere as chaotic as a live techshow, not to mention the hassle of getting used to the different bindings available. The simple solution to that of course, is to KB&M the hell out of everything and just have the wagglesticks as stage dressing :D Oh you are far too kind Sir!

What a novel idea! For $400+, I bet it is focused on exploration interceptor trading stealth bomber missile boat repair gameplay, has a convenient coffee machine and it's own disco floor.

Lots and lots of those! Got to collect them all! It's a dynamic and fluid gaming environment - Space Chariot Fidelity JPEG Collector 0.01A - even when you buy the jpeg and can cuddle and pet it, it doesn't always reflect what you'll end up with in the Space Chariot Immersion Simulator Pre-3.0. It becomes a nuanced PvP zero-player game that operates on multiple levels with a near-infinite range of complex gameplay possibilities and end-game counterplay. Using the Freelancer as an example, my original jpeg has horrifically mutat, erm, lovingly crafted itself into quite a different beast. What I originally thought I had purchased, and indeed was originally able to view and interact with in the Fidelity Chamber, now requires further Content Accessibility Share Holding (CASH for short) in order to get all the shooty and explody bits I originally had. That's where the deep PvP content comes into play. Do I embrace the inner struggle with nerved jpegs, or do I execute "Good Move" and counter with CASH, or...
