Some of you may have noticed that you no longer have access to the Mobius private group yet still have access to Mobius PVE private group, well here is the reason. For the past two months we have let members know that anyone who has joined Mobius along with Mobius pve were asked to leave one of the two groups. Our First Announcement Feb 15, 2017 Our Final notice Thu Mar 30, 2017 we also had it pinned on our facebook community page. Frontier implemented our request on Friday 28th April this was needed because over 2000 members had joined both Mobius and Mobius pve and as Mobius group had hit the cap of 20,000 members, space was needed to allow new players wanting to join our community.

If you are interested, PM me or email me at john(at)andherethewheel(dot)co(dot)nz Thanks, John

But surely in the example above the same thing happens outside of the game in the actual group, so whether it's replicated in game or not doesn't really matter. And I gave a counter-example above. If my group has a certain expansion plan, someone can unwillingly working against us in solo, doing missions and dropping exploration data in the system we don't want the expansion to go from. So he effectively wears the badge for acting against the faction agenda. That's not really fair towards all the other players that work for the faction and according to our expansion plan.

@Ramirez - Guess the only thing left to do is agree to disagree, as we'll never convince each other or reach consensus :)

But 2.2 had bugs too when it was released! Best bet to ensure there are NO BUGS AT ALL would be to just kill the whole thing. Go back to pre-alpha, when Elite was only a Kickstarter project. 100% no bugs guarantee!

Again - I don't want any control. All I would like to see is for members of OUR group to proudly display OUR faction's name below our Cmdr names. I'd like to be able to accept who can display that name. That's all. No faction control, no change to anyone's gameplay or ability to support/act against our faction. JUST the display of our faction's name for our members :) It's just a cosmetic thing that means a lot to us. I really can't understand why some players oppose that so badly... Does it hurt that I will be able to decide if someone can't display the name? But they can't do it now either. So literally NOTHING changes for them. Someone may say it's bragging and if you see that way, fine - we want to brag about what we've achieved over the last to years, because we're proud of it :) If someone sees that as a bad thing, fine - everyone is free to have an opinion. But what I propose has literally no impact whatsoever on anyone's gameplay.

You are correct only when it comes to NPC factions. The player created factions are something more than JUST a BGS faction in game. They have a group of players that created history and lore for that faction, and in that sense that player group does own the in game faction. Why is it such a big problem to accept the fact that player controlled groups are part of the game now and that we DO have a representation IN GAME in the form of OUR factions?

All the Sillmarills games <3 Ishar series and Transarctica in particular. In fact, I'm in the middle of Transarctica playthrough right now :)

IMHO you then don't really understand what it means to be a part of a player group and have your own faction in game, and a feeling of belonging to something really good. I realise there will be players like you who disagree with my point of view, which is fine.

No, but I enjoyed the visit, the atmosphere and discovering the story. Like I said - by watching the whole thing on YT, you've just spoiled THE WHOLE experience. I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree - to you it warrants the criticism, to me it's just whining. To you it's not worth it, to me it's totally worth it. Regardless, these are just our opinions, they are not facts. Or they are facts - but subjective to our own experiences. Because objectively - some gameplay is definitely there. Objectively - it;s NOT about just watching it, as you have to actively find all the access point and scan them to get all the logs. So, I dare you say you are wrong. The gameplay is there. Whether it's worth the trip - that's a subjective opinion that can't really be relayed in an objective way, because we all have a different definition of "fun".

And that's fair enough. But saying "I watched it on YouTube so there is no point in going there" is just silly and is NOT a valid criticism.

No, I read about the discovery on the forums, noted the system and that was all I knew about the ship: 1) That it was found. 2) It's location (system name). 3) That there were some logs to listen to. Didn't know anything else (not even how the ship actuially looked like) . So I went there and discovered there are log access points on the ship I need to find. Then I discovered there are 2 different stories to listen to. Then I started investigating the ship to find all the required log access points. It was fun. It was GAMEPLAY. I enjoyed it a lot and discovering the story of that ship, log by log was actually quite an experience.

Fair enough, I respect your opinions. I do however think that it would led to more - also inevitable - "there is nothing to do" posts. Fronter can't win here, players will ALWAYS want more. I honestly think that the key thing here is to understand the development model of ED - build foundations and then expand on them. Mission system is a good example. Remember 1.0? And look what we have now - so many different types of missions, including passenger and chain missions. USS is another. From generic USS to all different types of USS's, many of which are quite specific for Engineers related gameplay. Once you realise and accept that this is the way they develop this game, I think you'll be able to get over stuff like mega ships etc. (And slight offtop: Star Citizen is an example of a different approach - build the feature as complete as possible and then release them. The only thing is... nothing is released so far and it's still an Alpha. Personally I prefer FDEV's model - at least I have a GAME to...

Now that's some constructive criticism as opposed to pointless whining :) Great idea, I also think that more in-game notices to important discoveries would be great. All in all, I think Galnet could use a makeover - get rid of the war/famine/outbreak reports (pretty much useless, since map filters by state were added) and replace them with more important news that will inform players about the IMPORTANT events, ongoing story line (with summary of previous events) and discoveries.

Exactly. My opinion is that there is some gameplay for megaships and alien ruins. Not massive amount, but it's there. CQC and other similar assets - agreed, no gameplay there. I also understand however that they are taking small steps - they've already said they will add more gameplay to these locations in the future. So, would you rather them NOT add these AT ALL until the associated gameplay is ready? Or would you rather have these locations in game in the current form?

Yes, there is. You need to find all the log beacons (or whatever they're called, can't remember now) and scan them to get the logs. Then the logs tell you what the next part of the story will be (in Zurara's case at least, I haven't seen any other mega ships so far). (BTW, Zurara is not a generation ship). If you decide to spoil things by watching the stuff on You Tube, you only have yourself to blame. It's as if you watched a movie ending on You Tube and then complained it's not worth paying for the cinema ticket, because you already know the ending, so no point going to the cinema.
