I know you *want* to encourage microtransactions, but perhaps it would be worth having a config file lock flag to disable 'shopper mode' for kids playing ED?

I'm not 100% on this. I thought maybe the gold was a limited offer and then the golden was the gift for having it (and a Horizons pre-order too maybe). If I'm honest, it's a blur. Maybe my posting this post is not helpful.

Well OK but equally heat sinks don't help if you take a heavy landing while looking for materials! Stocking up in prep is still cool, does not remove explorer challenges and long expeditions might take more planning. Also why I like Cmdr Quantis Trap's idea. Truth is too, that heat sinks do have more and varied uses in the bubble .. so still don't see the 2.4 synthesis being very far from the mark. edit: Also add .. powerplant unrepairable? Doesn't it just kick you into emergency life support while the AFMU works on it? Then, you can recharge life support after, with (natural material) synthesis.

Not sure what you mean. As long as no permit involved and as long as you have the range/fuel, you should be able to navigate anywhere. I don't need a slave but can you explain how you're trying to navigate there? If you're sure you accepted the mission properly you should be able to see the mission details (ship's left panel, transactions) . Check you didn't fail it for any reason.

Genius idea. Inert? Looks like a ground / air source heat pump .. (if you have a hot lump of metal and you cut a bit off it .. you have a smaller, hot piece of metal, not a cooler one I think no?) I think FD made a good choice with heat sinks .. because repair limpets.

I like this. We have it to an extent ofc, in that rep with faction does improve missions offered, though having that process come more front and centre (and I think your secenario is very, very suitable for Secret Service Military recruitment, where you follow breadcrumbs, past the security levels to the secret base where the doomsday machine is kept) would certainly be interesting. It's spculation but the new system for delivering traffic control dialogue (2.4) could play into this, so you can generate your viewscreen messages with non-repetitive ways of speaking (talking about nearby bases, place specific). The 3d view of your holo-me character (2.3 which might otherwise be seen as fluff) allows the game to generate an animated face (already in game) for that same audio-video message. This is why I urge management of our own expectations on how quickly it can realistically happen as a rule because <bosh> Avatar face - Welcome to starport X I am commander Y </bosh> isn't as simple as it sounds if you...

Not YET anyway. ---- You're fine asking questions Commander, ask away .. there's no such thing as a daft one. I also agree with youtube being a not great teacher and also think you have to take the plunge, get into the ship, muck about ... and then look up or ask about specific things, as and when they occur to you. Working your way through, to understand everything on the Station Board and Ship Panels, for me was good fun (a good thing to do) and a game in itself. (Forget there's a galaxy of 4,000,000,000 stars outside ...!!???!!!)

Yeah that would be pretty cool .. more R2D2 astro-droid you're talking? Though I think I <definitely> still prefer the art department working on the Thargs (content NeilF that's content) in terms of priorities as, even when playing the game, metal bending R2D2's would ge good to watch .. once .. but then it comes down to repair my ship (quickly as possible please), moving on .. So not sure all that animation's worth it, right exactly now.

Sol is High Command for the Federation (if I recall correctly) .. Achenar, is where the Imperial Palace is. Neither one will let just anybody in. Security reasons I suspect. Agree with HurstLlama to an extent Commanders though I think I do sense - some - straight face - tongue in cheek too, maybe. Anyway ED is not a remake of Frontier. It's a new game so definitely suggest getting used to dropping some expectations, there's even a car (and a seriously good car too) in this title. So o7 (a salute) ... blank page, deep breath .. go.

In both cases you respawn back on your ship. Doesn't matter where your ship is, on planet or in orbit. If on planet you are back in the ship and it's parked on the planet. If you dismissed it, you respawn back in your ship orbiting the planet.

What ship are you in? What ship are they? eg. Sidewinder is like a mini Cobra III, multi-purpose ship (quite tanky). Eagles are maneuverable, fast turn fighters but vulnerable by virtue of having thin skins. So they're all over you? Yep .. it happens..Do the decent thing .. a Brave Sir Robin .. and run away quickly! You'll love it .. take your time and learn how to drive Rookie. ;) edit: by the way; flight assist will toggle on / off (Z by default?) in training missions too. Be a bit warned though .. it is twitchy.

I played Frontier Elite 2 a lot too .. The flight model in Elite Dangerous is much more closely related to the original, 1984 Elite. It's significantly different but I've come to like it better than FE2. There is a system on your ship called FLIGHT ASSIST .. this is ON by default and your thrusters automatically stabilise you; Your ship flies like an airplane. Find the button to disable flight assist and you can change your ship's orientation without altering your vector (more 'weightless') The restricted speeds you get used to. They are there for gameplay, to bring ships into contact with each other and stop them flashing by, at near relativistic speeds like they did in FE2 (and because, no time acceleration in ED because it's a multiplayer game). It's essentially a level playing field though, as all ships have the same effects of limited speeds and turning circle, depending on how heavy they are, and what strength thrusters they have. If you feel your turning circle is sluggish .. reduce your...

Is there any way to get a dump of all cosmetics owned? I have a lot of them. I can review my old order emails for purchases or (EDIT) view orders in the Frontier Store, but for items from various community events, freebie special offers, beta participation, black friday, freagle, golden asp, CG gold sidewinder, and livestreams I've participated in, there is no way to see what I have obtained, so it's hard to look for bugs in the listings provided by the game client.

Disagree with this because missions posted on a first come first served basis (apparently randomly) is more human, and pre-sorting would be next-level handholding, really. Also liking the distance to port feature, there's a thread started here with a few ideas about the formatting, which I happen to agree looks a little clunky. (Personally) BETANCOURT ENTERPRISES would be enough info, imo.

Both phrases .. Arriival Point and Estimated .. could both be superfluous for me; HUTTON ORBITAL ALPHA CENTAURI Or if worried about it not being self explanatory enough already? Maybe 'at' ... HUTTON ORBITAL at ALPHA CENTAURI

Agree with the premise of the OP .. cargo missions would be great, especially for luxuries that Colonia might have a hankering for. No doubt emntrepreneurial consignments of Onionhead / Narcotiics could sell well out there of course and there is the exploration money but +1 anyway.

Try the ED Groups section? Frontier are more in business of providing tools. Though there are rumours of CG events weekly and colonisations; One remote base and as people expand into, risk of conflict in the Pleiades where reports of contact with an alien species - if true - for me means new technologies people might be willing to fight over. 8. It is ages old nick of my name Peter localized version, and with first letter of surname. So pronouncing it would be rather difficult Pecis K maybe?
