Although there are loads of great views in ED in VR, ring systems around gas giants are my favourite. Drop out of supercruise near the inner edge of a ring system, after flying there as low as you dare (i.e. close enough to see the individual rocks) and then look up at the planet....its awesome.

Player, not satisfied with ED gameplay, expects it to radically change just because. Did I get it right? CGs need fleshing out as mechanisms but overall it is something that actually works. I like CG, I just want them to be more detailed, I have my hopes for post 2.4 updates for that. But if you don't care about Thargoids story line, why are you here?

Just to be fair, almost no one would give a damn about SC system sizes if there would be any actual game to play. Yes, ED tries hard to be on scale, but that's not something FD goes around and bangs about a lot. Because if there's no gameplay to enjoy for player, that's all moot. Same goes for Star Citizen really. All these "discussions" have risen in vacuum due of lack of information or any clear 'evidence' how SC will look or feel like in the end. And that's long and short about it. Anyway, this is getting a bit less fun than usual. Back to work and ED. Have fun guys.

Apologies for the extra information. I believe (onetime only) you can transfer your total assets to the PC platform. You will need to file a support ticket. Live long and Elite!

Somewhere in the bowels of this forum (it was back in beta) there is a quick discourse between myself and I think Mark Allen, which discusses the coordinates system in Elite Dangerous, which indicates that COBRA can resolve down to mm within about a light year and the ability to move the 0,0,0 point further if needed (can't remember the details off the top of my head). ED can do seamless for pretty much all star systems and you can travel to the "space" where another system would be in supercruise, but as the main star iirc is the 0,0,0 point the hyperspace jump is needed to establish a new point of origin for the next system and "spawns" the planets, moons etc around it during the jump sequence (amongst other things).

Welcome to the game OP. I suggest asking specific questions in the forum here .. which mission are you trying to complete? Have you completed but can't find where to hand in? (You do that on the Mission Board at the destination station). Reading around the subject - through manuals and websites - is a good idea too but sometimes one piece of advice can help the pennies to drop. The first mission you do will be the hardest to complete because learning curve. And there's no such thing as a silly question.

I don't want to open can of worms but ohh boy how netcode and 'why just not go server/client' discussions want to make my head bash against the wall. Because there's people who might have heard something and then there's geeks who haven't fully grasped concept. Guess which ones are more convinced they are right ;)

Going offtopic, but not quite. Technically maybe, but faking it would take biggest mission impossible for it all - making EVERYONE involved to LIE till their deaths to all smallest details. As someone with insight on technical and human side of industry I can tell technical details pale comparing to getting people agree on something. Technically all of what Apollo program did was possible (same as with today and landing on Mars, electronic cars, etc. really) and thus it is plausible landings took place than US government somehow successfully managed to organize such wide scale conspiracy for so long long time (and crap, even leave marks on surface).

I disagree with this because you'd know - from the CG blurb - what you're signing up for and this CG may or may not be for you, so on and etc. so I'm a +1 on the OP and I think it'll come. I hope so. When a CG gets anti-CG players camped (they don't always) that's the time to call SDC as things stand right now imo - and get them to 'gank the gankers'. I think anti-CG play is a good thing in principle though .. it's justvolunteers to militarily hlep the CG to succeed are thin on the ground (are there no white knight PvPers?). So basicaly 3 concurrent CG's - (1) the CG, (2) kill the CG and (3) defend the CG. That's not negligible to program though .. (notably, the 2.4 pilots-federation-bounty mechanic, could allow Frontier to count relevant PvP kills for it, and it could be just a standard add to all CG's I think, imo, and technically speaking).

Very few of them actual understand how games work, and they are mostly youngsters who want just want to have 'pure' cause to fight for - so there comes 'developer' who claims that he know what gamers want and will deliver on that premise - yeah, they gonna believe him. It is not about facts, but about faith. Everytime I have to explain how LoD works and how it is done in games and why ED does not have loading screens I just face complete ignorance. They don't know. They don't understand. They don't want to know.

Because SC was meant to be one and only space game to end all other space games - and other games essentially. That was actual premise on what it was sold and on what it's lion share of money was gathered. We are just space game geeks - I enjoy XCOM, I enjoy Everspace, I enjoy FTL...Pioneer....and so on and so forth. Truth to be told they are salty for obvious reason - so far only ED has made it. So they *need* a pitch to give at least some reason to support not published game yet against already existing one. Such bragging might be seen as healthy if CIG would have delivered something substantial.
