    I'm not at home, so can't attempt to duplicate it right now, but you're saying that the CP48 locks up when you run macros with long keypresses, and any interim commands are held until the first macro is finished. Might the device and software only be capable of one macro/input event at a time? That would explain the problem. I have a similar issue with my T16000.M - if I'm running a discovery scan and switch to any of the panels (using the hat on the stick), the later input overrides the trigger event, cancelling the button press. This doesn't happen on my X52 Pro - I can open panels all I like while holding down the buttons. I'm not sure if it's related, but I do know that the game client has issues processing macros with short keypresses and delays, and that it behaves differently with different macro software. On my Logitech G13, for instance, I have to have a minimum of 150ms on each keypress in a request docking macro. On my Razer Orbweaver, however, I can go down to about 100ms with no issues....

    I think it's great that they'll focus on core features, but does this mean they're delaying landing on atmospheric planets, gas giants and space legs? Because that would be a pitty. False. There's a lot of useful information if you read carefully. Some people can never be pleased though like you.

    Excellent news, it's what I felt should have been done (focussing on core gameplay and fleshing out what we have) but wasn't sure that's what would be done. Glad to see that's how it's shaking out.

    You have to remember, some mechanics like Exploration are so bare bones (missing 90% of the skeleton actually) that even altering the shape of a vestigial tail bone feels like a major overhaul. Never mind "fleshing out". So of course there will be major controversy over even the slightest change. Personally, I think many of these mechanics are so undercooked (ADS-honks and DSS-pointing in particular), that they could be thrown out completely and redone with actual depth and interactive beautiful HUD gameplay, and most people wouldn't miss the boring old scans one bit.

    Get ready for a bucket of ice cold water. At least half of the reason the core gameplay has been ignored, and all of the new additions are added in hermetically sealed compartmentalized chunks, is because Frontier has asked us which direction we'd like these "enhancements" to go, and the herd of cats pulls hard in opposite directions. At which point Frontier throws up their hands and says, forget it, we'll keep the status quo, and additions never impact any of the old gameplay. Leaving a game with an "ecosystem" of activity that is completely disjointed and nonsensical.

    I agree with the 2nd half of this statement, but that's not what Zac actually said. "Core gameplay & QOL" can mean anything to anyone, and tbh, that's probably the point of being so vague. So people can fill in the blanks with their own hopes for Elite, kind of like you just did right? Let's look at Frontier's actual record: for the past 2.5 years "core gameplay" has meant 1 thing and 1 thing ONLY: combat mechanics. And "QOL improvements" has been used by frontier to describe lobotomizing difficulty, pushing arcade mechanics, and looking at realism and immersion as roadblocks rather than as potential elements of good gameplay. I have my own hopes for "core gameplay" and they tend to involve: fleshing out exploration mechanics making power play actually fun (and a pretext for meaningful PVP) connecting all of the different aspects of the game together

    Of course I'd prefer more detailed statements/plans from Zac, but I am cautiously optimistic about the overall thrust of whatever comes after 2.4 being "core gameplay & QOL improvements." IMO that's what this game badly needs, a fleshing out of all the currently available career paths. I've said numerous times that I'd buy this game all over again if 3.0 eschewed new additions to the game and focused on bringing depth to what was already there.

    The five phases of grief does seem a bit melodramatic. For me, when I feel like ED is not massaging my needy parts in the manner I prefer, it's more like the 5 Phases Of Annoyance, or the 5 Phases Of Frustration. But that's just me.
