You made a piloting mistake and somehow that is FD's fault? Are you serious? This is what the game is about! You fly a spaceship and should own up to your own mistakes. The game is already too lenient as it is. As others have said the mission USS will simply spawn again. When I made the same mistake as you and destroyed the black box I was supposed to pick up, I was disappointed when I discovered that it simply spawned again.

Scanning the star does only that... it scans the star. The planets that get discovered that way are only those that are relatively close to you. You will not discover the planets that are farther out in the system that way. If this is the procedure you have followed in other systems you have explored you might find more planets and moons in those systems if you use the Advanced discovery scanner in the correct way. My guess is you have missed quite a few. You need to 'honk' the system. To do that you need to bind the discovery scanner to a fire button in your right hand HUD menu. This is the same procedure as binding your weapons. It is the same section in the HUD. It is not necessary to have the star selected when you scan the system, but most of the time it would be convenient to do both at the same time.

I think he meant to say Albaconda :). But OP, As others said ED is an ongoing online simulation of the galaxy. You cannot pause. You can quickly exit to menu and jump in again. It's fast enough and its safe. Also never leave your ship in an asteroid ring when exiting the game. The asteroids keep doing their thing and the next morning you might find your ship destroyed as soon as you log back in, when an asteroid wants to use the same space as your ship. Asteroids always win the contest :).

I really would like some cool EVA suit gameplay. I want to feel like an astronaut, leaving my spaceship, hopping around on a low G world, or floating in an asteroid field, walking on the hull of my ship, doing some manual repairs perhaps... But of course atmospheric planets are important too. Atmospheric entry, weather effects, alien worlds with alien flora and fauna, planets with fluids etc. etc. Also entering the upper atmospheres of Gas giants could be awe inspiring. There could be 'cloud cities' in there. I guess both are important to me. Being able to go down to an atmospheric planet with alien lifeforms but not being able to walk around there would be frustrating though. These features complement each other for the best experience.

Yes, there are some awful whiners. Many people don't seem to get that this game is a long term project, that game development is not unlimited in its options, or that this game is not specifically made with their personal preferences in mind. Their world revolves only around themselves it seems. They ooze a black cloud of infertile negativity. I am all for constructive criticism, but I loath the many insulting, whiny, entitled and very often very immature threads. These people poison the well.

Yes, why not. I think more mission variation is always welcome.

I think the npc rescue ships' paint job should be and stay unique. I do not mind having a similar cool paint job for us players, but it should be clearly distinguishable from what the official npc rescue ships use.

That is why I have postponed doing that for now. I will wait until the exploring mechanic becomes more interesting and there's more to discover. FD has announced they will start addressing that in 2018, so I'm happily looking forward to that..

That is how I approach ED too. I do grind sometimes, but that simply is a choice I make and I don't perceive it as negative at all. I loved to do long distance hauling missions for example. There was a different rhythm to them and they made me good money. And I finally felt I could put my huge cargo Cutter to good use. The only thing I regretted about that is having to use board swapping to be able to fill up the hold of my cutter. I have been pleading for large hauls for big ships many, many times, but until this day we have not gotten them. Much of the grinding people complain about is in their own heads and in the choices they make.

Landing there might be possible when FD allows it (landing in 50g is peanuts :)), but taking off in the puddle of molten metals that was once your ship might be somewhat of a problem. If there ever was such a candidate in the ED universe, then this definitely is it.

There was someone suggesting the same a short while ago. I would very much like this to be in the game. It adds new possibilities. FD could design an interesting mechanic around this. For example: - there could be different qualities of fuel from different types of stars. - perhaps there could be better qualities of fuel when 'deep scooping' (closer to the star)

I completely agree with that. Five of the seven ships I own are stored at a station in my home system. Having them deleted without any possibility to interact would be unacceptable. Frontier won't do that. Of that I am sure.

I don't think you understand what bounty hunters are. A bounty hunter does not try to get a bounty on his own head. He tries to get the bounty that is on yours. :) Yes, npc bounty hunters can get bounties on their head too, and they do, but specifically adding bounties to make it more comfortable for you to engage them is exactly what should not happen. In fact I want the opposite. I want npc bounty hunters to have the right to engage criminals in multiple systems, without them getting a bounty on their head for killing a criminal, hence my bounty hunt license proposal. Any sensible proposal for the bounty hunter system in the game should strive to make it more interesting and unique, as opposed to making bounty hunters indistinguishable from pirates.

Bountyhunters should absolutely not have a wanted tag. They will get one anyway when they attack you outside of the system where you committed a crime anyway. And I would like to see that changed to make life harder for criminals, not the other way around. Bounty hunters only come after the player if he has a bounty on his head and crime should not become easier for players. I like it when the tables are turned once in a while. What I would like to see changed though:
