I'd do this for anyone in the same situation man or woman, so never-mind what she says or her chip on shoulder 3rd wave postmodern gobbledegook feminisms, keep doing it, it's merely basic consideration.

Yeah, illness/sudden disability, loss of a job, bereavement, general suffering in life that everyone bears, getting older, rejection, divorce, that gives it meaning and that cannot be explained away or denied by isms as 'constructs of society', to use the most familiar postmodern ones. (As JBP puts it, "There's nothing more real than your own pain.")

"Ideological Possession", as Jordan B Peterson coins it, is oft curable by a catastrophic or unavoidable collision with a life reality, existential crisis or tragedy that an aspect of the ideology cannot resolve.

I gather hatred of women and others, like Misanthropy are in the DSM-IV (The 'misos' appear connected to Nihilism) as are rare phobias of religion or homosexuality that are commonly mass diagnosed by non-psychiatrists in the general public

By definition all ideology is incomplete, being pseudo-intellectual baubles that occupy those that cannot -or unable to learn to - think. You cannot assume an ought from an is. The most pathological ideologies are those that are fundamentally based on the implicit assumption that one's knowledge is complete - for if your knowledge is complete you have become God. It is not -I would imagine- necessary, or perhaps should be necessary for me to explain why this is a road to Abaddon.

Well I'm the kind of guy that likes to take an idea over to the light to have a damned good long look at it, or like to treat more or less every issue like a toaster - turn it upside down and shake it till all the crumbs fall out.

I've noticed an odd thing in examining issues with both Socialist-leaning friends and Conservative leaning friends: The former tend to dislike a forensic debate and lose friends doing so, the latter tend to relish and seek out a damn good vigorous, forensic debate, and make new or strengthen friendships doing so.

Why not? Are they not scrutinisable forensically, are they so dangerous that they cannot be faced and defeated in debate To not do so is either Bigotry. or Debate cowardice. Chicken Buk-buk-buuuuk! If you like, there is always someone that is unaware that it is an "oblate spheroid", to quote Stephen Fry.

Exactly, you test a strong idea with an idea as strong as it, or as strong as you can get it, leave ideology aside - Never drink your own Kool-Aid(TM) - and let battle commence!

Which is indeed the power of debate, QED. Two rhetorical questions: 1. How prevalent worldwide is the notion that water is dry or that the Earth is flat? 2. How easily is the fact that the earth is (roughly) round and not flat demonstrated?

There's always a need. It's how ideas are tested, good and bad.

Neither. Do you mean "You can't excuse everything ... " with people in general making that argument, or "You" as in me - making that argument? For, to be clear, I am not making that argument, nor, I dare say, any of us can presume with any certainty that people in general would make such an argument, in that one can excuse away matters simply by dint of the innocuous status of holding or proffering of differing views. Secondly the factual testability of opinions/views are irrelevant - they are...

groups are limited to 20,000 players and while we have two groups one of 20,000 and the other being 17,000+ we have been forced to open a third group in prep for more players wanting a pve game. But in regards to numbers I can say that with information from frontier at least 17,000 form one group do log into the group on a regular basis. while some may say that they have not seen another commander while in Mobius, the same argument goes for open when people say that they don't come across anyone for ages...

Just a reminder for those that do not know... "Bigotry" is not prejudice. A Bigot is one who is intolerant of a person who proffers a different view. I get this all the time on twitter, which is full of those that are not able to separate the positing of an argument from their own being - something I have always found downright queer, I mean, an argument is not part of one's identity - it's merely an argument! Right? Maybe that's just me. ...
