Seriously, I really think you need to reconsider the basis for all of your arguments.

I'm aiming to do a run tonight. I don't have many engineered ships and so I decided to plump for the Elite Eagle (though having looked at the leaderboard I noticed Terrorsidic has already done a run in that :( I just need to go to Felicity to pick up a set of enhanced thrusters and then haul myself back to the start line. Hahahahahahaha. Hahahahahaha. That my friend, is genius!

Probably because we've had this discussion so many times over the years that it doesn't matter what Frontier say, some people will continue to make whinging threads regardless, hoping to pick up anyone not fortunate enough to remember the last ones to add their voice to a completely pointless cause!

I don't agree with Verminstar's points as I think that's as much a generalisation as they are asserting PC players put onto console players. The players themselves are individuals and as such there's always going to be some who make the rest look bad. I too have been consoles and PCs since the inception of both really (BBC and Atari 2600), but I guess it starts really around the PSX / pentium era. My view of it is that you have always been able to do more things manually on a PC. There's always been ways of tweaking things, or editing code, getting more information once the internet started expanding. So consoles have always had to do everything there and then out of the box, especially as patching console games is a relatively new thing. This is, I believe, where the perception comes from. The only thing I dislike about consoles is how it is easier and cheaper for developers to make games on consoles and the returns are much higher, so PC tends to end up with more ports these days rather than the...

OK I'll have one last go then. So because I've been playing online games since TFC was released and have good enough hardware to manage to play FPS games with a ping of ~30ms and haven't experienced many issues with Elite, you're still maintaining that I don't know how online games work? Yes it is. And just because someone told you it was always a single player game, they're obviously correct... No they're not.

Not really fussed by space legs to be honest, it can take as long as it needs to. Exploration mechanics are far, far more important!

Yeah you're right. I mean racing around a station in an instance with 20+ Cmdrs and lots of NPCs is a walk in the park compared to 1 person pulling 1 other person out of SC and shooting them. Blinkered doesn't even begin to cover it. Sorry X<5% is standard by whose reckoning? Yours I imagine. FDev are ignoring the issues are they? So they've done nothing to improve and bolster the netcode? Are you sure it's not just the fact that you're ignoring the work they're doing and making similar threads/posts over the years for whatever reason that can't be described with words?

Why exactly is combat always deemed to be the be all and end all? Is it not possible in your eyes to have other types of encounters or interactions that would demand a lot of a connection. I don't have low expectations, if I had a ping of over 250ms then I would notice the difference and I would think that something is up, but I don't I'm afraid. I tend to average 60fps, though it does drop to around 50 in certain circumstances (mainly flying around heavily populated asteroid belts and when first entering Glide (not that you can do anything at that point)), but I was always under the impression and prepared to be proved wrong as always, that FPS is more related to hardware. You say (not to say higher) but you mean higher and comparing to water torture... Whether or not you intend to come across as condescending that is, I'm afraid, exactly what you are doing.

Think you'll be alright .. though stay frosty. Biggest massive change is probably the debug camera .. which is now a whole camera suite, and takes some setting up; thread here Other than that I think you'll probably be OK following your nose. o7

Yay it's time for another one of these threads. 1. I always play in Open (except for a few events and taking hi-res photos) 2. I always do CG's in Open (gotta love meeting actual pirates and then being saved by valiant Cmdrs) 3. Define most? I live in the UK and play during the evening 4. See point 1 5. How insulting of you 6. Don't really get the point of this

I can understand why Del came in the way he did, but I think it also could do with being pointed out (as the whole FD never reply to us has come up) that you are still assuming a lot of things. Like the fact that multiple CGs and other events proposed by Canonn (and their affiliates) were either rejected or agreed by FD and then abandoned without any communication. Also the fact that a lot of people seem to think that Canonn have control over the megaship. I'd agree that a megaship without docking would seem pointless to most, especially if you intend to think it can be moved around to where you like. I do find it odd that they're offering megaships as a reward to a CG, but then I guess that stems from all the 'they have one, I want one' attitudes since the Gnosis was announced. The other thing I'd like to say to the OP, is that if in your private discussions with FD (while you were pestering them) they didn't explain to you why a dockable megaship was off the cards, do you really and honestly think...

Pattiat: I don't think this game is going in that direction. They do not want to be like another game that does that. There is no end game. It goes on forever. Its up to you to discover new things to do and be. The fun is in the process of earning money, in the journey. Not in having billions of credits, wanting another mindless grind. You might want to try going back to basics and not treating the game as a hoarder spree that wants you to collect all the Pokemons. There's no fun in that, is there. Get a medium size ship and go exploring or just do something different from what you have done already.

Hi Zog Those two case fans should be plugged right into the motherboard. One should suck in, the other blow out for good airflow thru the case. Sometimes there is a toggle in the BIOS to switch those fans to "performance mode". I think Lucius has a valid point. check your SS settings. Both the game application and the nVidia controls. I set mine to "let application choose" and make all my settings there instead of in the video card controls.

If the standard of achievement requires something underhanded, then it could well be. It's aluminum spelled with an extra vowel.

Everyone else? I don't have a megaship. Regardless, stuff like this will never be free of bias until it can be controlled completely through automated systems that do not require developer intervention, except to correct the inevitable bugs/exploits.

I'm sorry my question seemed rude to you, my PR representative didn't show up today.

Either way i knew he wouldn't answer it, i just wanted him to read it.
Because it's the simple result of his choice to to full online only mode.

  4. hey bro!
quick question know anything about business related articles or changes they are making?
check it, i was sitting here doing my grind on the game making money.
and i realized something it's basically impossible for me to be making these kind of profits from all these different catagories of consumer products.
i mean you cant be making 150% profit on weapons AND biowaste at the same time in real life it takes years to know the ins and outs of a certain business and how to maximize profits and efficiancy.
i mean i understand being able to ship all the different categories but i think it's strange that i can make really good profits off anything. i'm thinking a more specialized model is in order....

Just so you know Michael posted ingame starmap

Ah i see you are replying to it now

Hmmm, well they are both 'artists impressions' so it seems perfectly understandable to me. If you overlap the 2 they are actually a lot closer to each other than they appear at first glance. Though it does appear as though the outer arm stops short on the ED map

It's based on this image from wikipedia, which I overlayed on the starmap tease like this.

However he is after all just one guy who have been developing Space Engine on his spare time. Just imagine then what a whole company like FD can do working full time on something similar!

Thanks for the heads up on the Space Engine. Hadn't seen that. Just installed it. Amazing job. This guy is very talented.
