Name anything released that worked without bugs straight off a release line? Answer: Nothing

I suggest the entire thread is reviewd once more on reasons given. In short, those witgh the deepest pockets dominate the franchise, thus removing the RPG-y-ness of it, as one can simply buy ones way up the ranks Munchkin style.

Just wondering, is it Anarchy security status, or a system controlled by an Anarchy faction?

My ten year old kid has lent me hand a few times. Pretty good on the basic airmanship. Hanging out the back of uh is it Anderson Dock in uh Eravate? Anyways I'm dropping painite Palladium and - uh mental blank - the other P. Cannisters one by one and he's scooping up in a Sidewinder. Platinum! That's the thing. So I drop something cheap and then he proves himself and so then I start dropping triple P to beef up the new account. He did alright for a while. Bought a Cobra with the commodities he scooped. Got him a skin of his choice.

I'm assuming the twin neutrons in the video title image... but who knows where in the vid that is.

Limpets and cargo hatch failures don't make mission critical cargo drop. Yes, unless it was stolen to begin with. Given they're pirates, it was probably stolen in the first place :)

Neutron boosts are risky but pretty easy once you get the hang of it, and they can save quite a lot of time if you plan your route well. My first trip to Colonia was 3.7 hours, and I was a Neutron Highway noob. I'm sure I could get there much faster with practice. Pro Tip: bigger ships are better at navigating the jets.

And in fairness, you could always just retrofit an Asp Ex into a half-decent hulltanker and put your travel mods in storage on arrival.

Don't forget, the time of a graphic artist can't be spent on development and bugfixing, and vice-versa. These two options: ... are comparing apples and oranges... the two skillsets to address the two problem sets are (mostly) wildly different. If the art team are "Done" before the dev team on a new piece of content, you can't just, say, sack the art team and hire more devs, because then you're stuffed for artists down the track. You also don't want them idling, so you give them tasks like the "fluff" you mention. Personally, while I've verbalised plenty of times what I want from core gameplay enhancements, I also want my Thargoid Sensor bobblehead :D

I dunno why it keeps changing size... I edited about 10 times and it kept changing every time even though the URL was the same... I'll find a different one... Edit: Fixed... I prefer the one I've put because there's a few more examples and the values are up to date (e.g Terraformable now adds 300,000 rather than 30,000)

I gotta agree with Novo... almost all planetary scan missions I've ever done have been simple, no trespass zone endeavours. Land, scan, leave, and that's been the case since these missions existed. One or two have had a trespass zone with maybe two turrets or two skimmers (never both), but the overwhelming majority have never triggered a security response. Maybe there's a particular subtype (say, Scan missions that occur in civil war) which are always like you describe. To explain, I noticed a while back that "source goods" mission offered by a particular faction in a "Bust" state would get the redirection wrinkle 100% of the time, and there was a subtle difference in the mission title text (Ones that only redirected some of the time were "Source X units of Y commodity", but these ones were always "Find us X units of Y commodity". So, it's possible that may be the case, and you happened to be in a glut of those types of missions for a time?

I would've guessed first four are HMCs, then a WW, then another HMC. That said, if I were intentionally exploring I would've still scanned all those bodies... since the buff HMCs at least are worth a bit of scratch, while bodies 3 through 6 are all likely candidates for being terraformable, which is good news for their value. Also, this chart is quite handy! (FIXED)

I know I'm getting a little off-topic with this... but Hostile is very undeveloped. Making it a purely a punishment state (by locking you out of stations, until your rep rebalances) is a really poor choice, without reasons to actively drop your rep (such as calling in favours with a faction to drop bounties, offer specific mission types or get market discounts etc.) What would be better though is if Hostile was actually a meaningful state for *attacking* the faction you're hostile to. It's pretty daft that the best ways for me to actively bring down a target faction has me staying neutral or even allied to them. Yes, there is the "covert insider" argument which is all fine, but that shouldn't be an option. It's pretty dumb that I might be able to bring a faction to war through constant destruction of their ships (resulting in me becoming hostile), but when it comes to the war proper, nope, can't contribute coz I can't dock to hand combat bonds in since the station is owned by the enemy. Railing back...

For the record, Thargoid Sensors usually spawn in any system 135-150 LY distance from Merope in Threat 4 USS marked "Anomaly Detected"

Can't argue with this. The only reason to not do this is to make Xbox controllers more "equal" by effectively nerfing the potential of KBM/HOTAS. This is a terrible way to treat PC gamers though.

I agree that they should be challenging, and I'm not worried about it getting too easy since I'm sure Frontier will just notch up the difficult with each new tool we get, just as they've already done. As for the wakes, you should read the descriptions on the materials you can collect from Thargoid corpses. ;)

OP, I suspect the clunkiness lies between the chair and the desk. Sure it would be great if the device had a fire group, but it's WAY easier to use than an ECM. An ECM requires precise timing and counters a fast attack. The anti-EMP only requires charging. It's dead easy to use because the Thargoid EMPs are very predictable.

Being able "in seconds" to nominate a better anarchy faction candidate is only possible through your extensive embedding in the area. It it takes a huge amount of time and detail sifting to come to an understanding of a region. I got VR recently and discovered a wealth of information about AEDC and wider Alliance systems in a half hour in the GalMap. But that's because I care about the systems. I've fought alongside my team for particular assets. I've attacked our enemies, investigated our neighbours, and visited our friends. But unless you devote time to bookmarks and lookups and chatting to others working the region, it's completely opaque from the GalMap.
