    I take a fairly strong stance against slavery. But I have sold 33 slaves so I'm not clean. Two batches. One and 32. See the Diplomatic Corps were trying to target a specific system. At the time there was a mechanic where if a faction's influence was below 2% you would expand into their "slot". And we didn't want that. We wanted to go into a system further away. With a higher population. Better economy. And this half dead anarchy faction was sitting in the way. So I took on the task of running a few missions for them so that they would gain a percent.

    I dunno, sometimes you need to poke about a bit. I like to see who the hollow squares are and check their paintwork. It can can take a little time if you have to check INARA for their license.

    Looks like you have a trip db which can't be found. A possible remedy is going to %localappdata%\CaptainsLog2 in File Browser, and editing the captainslog2.INI file, and set activedb = v2default This should load the default trip database. I've actually right now put a safety check in the source code to check to see if the configured trip DB exists and if not, set the trip DB to load to v2default. This fix will go into the next release, which won't be tonight as I'm exhausted having fixed a ton of stuff and made two releases today as well as the other releases in the last few days :)

    I disagree with this because you'd know - from the CG blurb - what you're signing up for and this CG may or may not be for you, so on and etc. so I'm a +1 on the OP and I think it'll come. I hope so. When a CG gets anti-CG players camped (they don't always) that's the time to call SDC as things stand right now imo - and get them to 'gank the gankers'. I think anti-CG play is a good thing in principle though .. it's justvolunteers to militarily hlep the CG to succeed are thin on the ground (are there no white knight PvPers?). So basicaly 3 concurrent CG's - (1) the CG, (2) kill the CG and (3) defend the CG. That's not negligible to program though .. (notably, the 2.4 pilots-federation-bounty mechanic, could allow Frontier to count relevant PvP kills for it, and it could be just a standard add to all CG's I think, imo, and technically speaking).

    This. Also to be fair, ED does seem to be doing some trickery with the planets in the background when outside supercruise. Remember back in the 1.x days the planets used to not move smoothly but in discrete hops every few seconds. And also the star backdrop is being generated while in supercruise, so that part definitely isn't seamless. It's proven that you can travel between systems however, ED just lacks a trigger to generate the new system bodies. As far as SC goes, the most important bit now is not what is seamless and what isn't, but when they'll implement a proper game loop and the basic game mechanics, as well as fix the godawful flight/aim system.

    Hi! I'm afraid you are mistaken. P2P does affect and indeed limit how many players can be in a single instance. The reason for this is that one of the fundamental properties of P2P is that the peer with the worst connection dictates the experience for all peers in the instance. Also, every additional peer makes the instance work that bit less smooth for everyone. This is why FD have implemented a system that measures this with a combined metric ("Island Health") and basically shuts out new peers from joining your instance once that health goes below a certain value. Having a dedicated server and a client/server system would definitely improve this, but is not practical for this game - at least not throughout the entire galaxy. What Frontier COULD do is use P2P as a general fallback, and connect to a client/server session for certain key location (see link in my signature). But that's a major development effort. It would open up the door to 200 commander battles at CGs and big story-driven combat sites....

    You're late to the party my friend. Ross 128 has been an Alliance system since July and it's late September now. Luhman 16 is full and won't take anymore inbound expansions. Sol is God-locked by Frontier or Hutton Truckers and Earth Defenese Fleet and that Alliance faction would already have gone in there; and the other Ross 128 factions are native so they won't retreat anywhere. Is this another "innocent trader caught up in someone else's war" thread? It seems to be a pretty regular trope with the Feds these days. Just to remind you: Ross 128 is a toxic hard labour maximum security Prison Mine. Where capital punishment was reinstated just to reduce the overcrowding. The lore around this place is nasty - and those defending it are not on the side of the good and the just.

    No it's a thing, and pretty cool actually. I run that load out myself on the trade ships, but I've never managed to hit anyone with them. Probably a mix of Thruster Disablers, Shield Disablers and extra damage. Something like this:

    VR is killing my game. I've got an okay sim pit and big screen and recently got a Rift. The lack of connection to the real world is a bit of a problem for staying basically social with the family. The experience is compelling, but my situational awareness was already pretty good with TrackIR. And Elite requires a lot of stuff on the second screen. Discord, comms, team forum, copying destinations into galmap, trade sites, and a film for the repetitive sessions. I've been in game a LOT less since I picked up VR, even though the experience IS amazing. But maybe that's just my life getting in the way.
