Someone once taught me a very valuable lesson in conflict resolution when it comes to communication, particularly in regard to communication where things like body language and inflection cannot be interpreted. It helps to lead with a statement or declaration of intent. This way, it's very difficult to perceive what you're communicating any other way than the way it was intended. This isn't "required", it's just helpful advice. Doesn't mean there won't be disagreement, only that it helps to clarify the context and meaning. Now, another valuable lesson that most have learned early in life- is that what you do may affect other people. This is the reason why we have things like rules, laws and regulations. If you want to live an anarchistic life, more power to you- but whenever you have large groups of people concentrated in an area things like harmony become important, and we develop agreements with each other to help keep conflict to a minimum. I like to treat others the way I'd like to be...

Well lots of us have. We don't want it easy, that's the whole point. But you know this sitting under your bridge.

I can get behind this. Then again, I'd love to see ALL the ship models get kits so we can customize a bit.

Yeah, that answer didn't work for the whiners complaining about mission payouts being too high. Instead they ended up screwing up the entire mission system because of said whiners. Payouts too high? Don't do them, indeed.

Oh, that's a completely fair payment for services... right? Hey, while they're at it, I think FDEV should just make hair shirts mandatory for all new players in the Holo-Me. Perhaps even throw in a cardboard sign that says "will work for fuel", too.

Yeah it seems whatever changes they made with the missioning system appear to have created problems elsewhere, either too many of a certain type of mission, ridiculous payout amounts on others (too low, etc.) or too few missions being offered in some situations. I've been paying close attention to variable types and it's very chaotic now. I get a lot of some types of missions one time, then none at all, then frequently low payouts for some types another time, etc. Sometimes I just shut the game down and quit playing altogether because of the mission RNG... there should always be at least one type of every kind of mission available, not having to constantly refresh every 15 mins just to pick something up, or having to travel elsewhere just to get a different set. I really love this game, but I'm starting to be very annoyed with the outlook. I'm so sick and tired of the hyperbole people throw around because they're angry that ED didn't turn out to be "EVE in Cockpits" the way they wanted it to be, so...

Yep. The problem isn't the software... it's the nature of the people who interpret what's "fair" and what's not. Some people will just NEVER be happy no matter how much tinkering you do under the hood.

For an expensive ship, it flies like a total brick. I couldn't even manage to line up the target that was shooting me before it took down my shields and started ripping into my hull. "Engineering" can't resolve the handling issues in a situation like that. I'm actually thinking of rolling back to an AspX even though it has less of everything- much less cost to replace/rebuy for the investment overall and the AspX is a lot more nimble in combat situations. Bigger doesn't always mean "better", after all. As a side note, it's pretty obvious when looking at the entire range of ships there are some issues- some of the bigger ships actually handle better than smaller ones- and that should never be the case, either.

And what's more ridiculous is the OBVIOUS solution to people complaining about how "easy" it was to make money would be for them to simply not pick up the missions. But noooooooo, instead FD had to go messing with the missioning code and screw it up across the board for everyone.

Thank all the whingers on the forums for that... and all the other issues we now have with missions and payouts, too. Seems the missioning system isn't quite as "robust" as FD thought it would be. "Oh we can just change a line or two of code and voila!, right?"

Both. But if I had to choose, it would be Space Legs first. Atmospheric Landings are cool and all, but it's mainly just "eye candy" unless there's some other practical purpose attached (like exploration goals of some sort, etc.) Space Legs would inherently *have* to include a practical reason as well... but there really wouldn't even be a reason to have them unless you're able to explore something in the first place. Now, we already have exploration goals (buildings, outposts, etc.) that we scan... it would be cool if we had to actually get out of the SRV and infiltrate a base or something in order to do it, too. (on the PVE side) and on the PVP side of things, well- there's always the FPS fans that want to be able to do more with it, too. That said, I think it will be a loooooooooooooong time before we see Space Legs as a reality in ED. I don't think it will be a "priority" for FD until Star Citizen is close to release, in order to retain the current players.

Can confirm. I was chasing this with Support (Ticket 00000191205). With 5.1/7.1 devices, the only signal on the sub/lfe channel is FSD enter/leave. You can check this by opening the WAV file further down in Audacity and muting all channels apart from 4. If your headphones are decent, you'll just hear a soft 'whomp' at 1:14 and again a bit later. Post-process the game's other channels onto to sub/lfe and run a low pass filter over it and the sub comes back to life. Copied from the last update to the ticket: "Based on the observation that with a default stereo device and the sub or buttkicker connected to that, the sub activates appropriately throughout gameplay, I observe that the sub 200Hz frequencies they need are present in the game

Repped. Good advice. I don't use mine anymore- I went back to my HOTAS X instead because I found myself not using most of the buttons/hats available anyway. I also find the lack of a detent on the throttle annoying, too. Someday I might go back to it, it's a really good HOTAS setup... if you can get past the throttle detent issue (without having to modify the throttle) and you actually use all the buttons for it. The T-Flight HOTAS X is amazing in its simplicity, and I actually like the feel of the stick better- the index finger button is handy for targeting, too.
