I play on my vive and the speech recognition is generally really poor with the vive mic. Being Billy No Mates, I just like the voice company :)

Heh. Fair enough. Good luck finding me. My last known public whereabouts were here, heading toward the Skull and Crossbones Nebula. ↓ Cheers.

I avoided voice attack for ages despite buying it last year. But after giving it try, I found voice attack along with EDDI (https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/294579-EDDI-Windows-app-for-immersion-and-more) have just made my game so much more fun. Highly recommended.

The third draft is now with a professional copy editor to zap all the typos and grammar problems. Once that's back with me I just need to go through it to ensure none of the changes alter the flow of the story. Not usually a problem. For now it's beer o'clock! Cheers, Drew.

It's a free form and open ended game. I wouldn't call it a sandbox game though. There isn't really anything you can create or build in the game using game mechanics beyond your own ship loadouts. This isn't Minecraft nor Space Engineers, and I'm perfectly fine with that – I have those games as well, if I want to play them. I just think calling Elite a sandbox game is a little misleading and inaccurate.

Glad to see you had a chance to pop your head out of the water and take a breath. Now ... dive back down there! You have a book to finish that I need to read :)

Hi Folks, Sorry for being out of touch for a bit. The workload on prepping the book has been quite heavy. Just this afternoon I finished the last of 734 narrative editing changes that my editor provided. All good stuff, but took a lot of work to fix up. Hopefully I'll have a bit more time to pop back into the forum again now. :) Cheers, Drew.

This is the problem with using analogies in trying to illustrate any argument made, as Scott Adams points out ("The Dilbert guy" @ScottAdamsSays ), debaters oft end up arguing about either: 1. the validity of the analogies used (and the persuasiveness of the argument is diffused) or more commonly 2. The analogy itself (and the argument is forgotten about).

Haha Jan Ravens is very talented, her and Rory Bremner together are outliers in impressionist showbiz in the ability to capture the essence of a person's mannerisms and body language. As for "... politically asserting the interests of business big or small ...", I do, yet I don't have any skin in the game. Her Diane Abbott is spooky:

It has been so difficult to get going again. This is the worst part, I知 over a third of the way to outpost 2 of the Colonia run and the Shiny Sidewinder is beginning to creak and shudder in ways that are frankly scary. I did have a couple of exciting moments as I discovered a water world, about 300 ls away from its star, and an angry volcanic world, charred black by its close proximity to its star. The gravity ripping the crust apart showing angry scars of red lava underneath. Pity they were both tagged by someone else but it was just a relief to see a different planet instead of usual muddy brown. Finding the water world was motivation I needed to keep going. I was tempted to turn back, even though I知 almost 4000ly away from the bubble. I知 getting about jumps between 12 and 14 ly at the moment, which means I知 covering more space but I think it痴 almost 1500 ly to the next outpost. I managed to find a world with reasonable gravity on it and picked up a few rare commodities for the synthesis. I知...

not quite the same, but this was on the HSC Voice Packs Facebook page. Hi folks. For some weeks we've been plotting :). Together with Fantastic Books Publishing we've begun to build some storyline for an interactive, fan-fiction mission for Elite Dangerous. You'll need VoiceAttack to play though the mission and our HCS Plugins - The mission itself is voiced by professional actors and is currently being readied for release. The first mission will be free to those of you that have voice packs, and if it goes down well and it's popular, we can consider doing many many more. You'll be able to download it soon. The mission itself will take a few hours to complete and it will showcase just how powerful the 3rd party tools can be when coupled with content created by the community. We'll be wanting to build on the missions with content created directly from the community - in other words, your ideas, your stories all made into missions - An RPG style story and fully interactive experience. COMING VERY SOON! ...

    Hi Drew,

Thank you so much for all your involvement with Elite Dangerous and the recent Salome event. I have thoroughly enjoyed all the twists, plots and clues here on the forums and in game that you have been involved with, they have added greatly to my enjoyment of the game and added considerable depth to it.

Good luck in the future and I hope to see your continued participation in this great game, I have enjoyed since 1985.

  2. Howdy! I just finished your first ED book (I bought ebook and Audible) and enjoyed it very much. I'm a PS4 owner, so your book was a great intro to ED universe while I wait my turn to climb into the cockpit. Thanks!

Hi Drew, I just finished Reclamation. It's very good. Well done. I enjoyed the audio book too. Despite the male voice for Kahina and Octavia

Good luck on your future work.

    Hello Drew,
Finished your book last week. Of the 4 ED book I read so far it was the best.
I hope you will be writing more ED books.
