The Space Farers Charitable Establishment. Frank had been in the void a long time. Limping his ship home. So badly damaged that very little worked. FSD was down to 6LY, shields totally failed, thrusters at 20% power, trailing fuel. Life support finally failed, his crew that hadn't starved, dying with only a 7 minute remloc, Frank had the full 25. Scraping through the mail slot, 'Atmspherrrrric prezzzre reeestd' intoned and moments later he thumped down collapsing a support leg. Ignoring the engineer who came to repair, Frank headed straight for the establishment that all long range space farers know as 'The Charity Hand Relief'

You know what my choice was in the same situation, but I'll give you my reasoning. I'm actually quite a fan of the integral headphones. They make it easy to don and doff the headset. There's only one cable. And I discovered when playing music through them that they are of fairly high quality. The Oculus gamesmakers know exactly the target headphones, and can tailor their sounds for them.

My headphone speakers went on mine. They didn't need any photos from me and were prompt in getting a pickup scheduled to replace my headset. The problem is that the headset went to the Netherlands to get replaced. It took about 9 days for the replacement to arrive. I'm handling the new headset with kid gloves. When the approval arrives they'll tell you they want every bit back, so be prepared for that.*

Perhaps we should throw NMS into the mix? Released with a couple of delays. Updated three times now, each adding significant new gameplay. Has a dreadful flight model. Seamless station to surface gameplay. A storyline, base building, buggies, FPS elements, space legs, trading, mining, multiple ship ownership, pretty rubbish space combat, impressive art-house graphical styling, superb music, free play and ironman options, engineering, nascent multiplayer, way more than a couple of moons round a single star, and an orrery integrated into their star map. All done by a tiny team working out of very modest premises in Guildford. I am helping here, right...? Surely compared to this utter shambles, SC looks ever more the gleaming beacon of ultimate success and fidelity that we dull nay sayers are clearly too silly to comprehend. Yes?

But we need help, we need you to run +++ influence missions for us all the way till Friday mornings Tick when WAR should break out, then its WAR ZONES well conflict zones and combat bonds. Group passenger missions are particularly helpful too, leave those solo riders behind. It is also OPEN SEASON on any Workers of Lave Liberal ships, destroy at will. Extreme Prejudice. We must secure the station for the future of us all. Help us ... pleeease

My Answer to your question is that yes it is totally Fair, the rules for open are that there are no rules, you want to blow up noobs cmdrs then go ahead, you want to attack players trying to earn a living at a CG then yes its fair, you want to interdict players in smaller ships than yours, sure its totally fair. because open is a mode the allows it to be fair for anyone who thinks its fair. If players don't think its fair then join a PVE group that makes things fair for all players.

Seeing as Dayrth's busy and Themadoll is floating in a tin can far above a moon, we are going to have a Fighter Club special. Help Themadoll achieve his lifetime ambition of driving an SRV in a spacestation. Any of the regular members can meet us at Votatini B 1, homing in on Themadoll's wing beacon.

Perhaps you missed the points I was making. The fact is that only by timely delivery of a quality product that CIG will reduce the current amount of flak that they are getting - even on their own forum. A good many of these complaints relate to their failure to meet delivery dates. These are not interpretations but simply holding CIG to account against what they have said. Remember that in December 2016 CIG confirmed that 3.0 would be out in December 2016. Chris is on record stating that SC and SQ42 were fully funded. His statement that you quote post dates that. So is a clear statement that not only are both projects not funded, but that CIG are reliant on ongoing donations, totally contradicting his previous assertion. So which statements of his can we ever trust? And the actual question I was asking was which of SQ42 or SC are CIG now devoted to. As per the funding quotes the clear previous focus was SQ42, whereas now it seems to be SC. Possibly. Just as an observation pop to the cig...

I think you've hit the nail on the head perfectly. Even in a well controlled environment, and I think as an example FDev do a decent job of controlling and dampening expectations, people can run away with ideas and get far too invested and excited, ultimately leading to excess dissatisfaction. Unfortunately however Chris seems unable to reign in his imagineering, to the huge detriment of CIG, the game and the community. Is 10 for The Chairman still running? I used to cringe watching it as he confirmed the wildest elements as coming in game, and always done so much better than anyone had ever done before. I hope 3.0 comes out this year. I hope it's stable and shows strong progress. But with so much debt built up now, I can't see things ending well. Sadly.

I'm aware that I am likely loosing sight of the wood for the trees. Having played on and off since original beta, I'm now fairly immune to much of the stuff that used to make me go 'wow', and similarly with planetary landings. To see ED afresh it's worth looking at the PS4 reviews, to remember what a good solid game we already have. However quite a lot of development effort has gone into big-ticket elements that left me totally cold: at least, PP, Wings, Multicrew, CQC, even engineers. Elite for me has always been a 'man in a van' experience, and whilst I'm comfortable playing along side others in the galaxy, I don't want to 'share my toys' and nor do I play often or routinely enough to meet up with any on my contacts list. So I'd be delighted if season 3.0 is designed in a 'white room', full of people who haven't ever played Elite before, who then list down their top 10 enjoyable/wanted aspects to the game, such that these aspects can then get built upon and polished. Your top 10 will...
