    i just bought a third account. @OP big fan of the DBE, but there aren't many great paintjobs for it imho - especially as the standard one is quite good. i'd take one for the python, those luminiscent ones are special.

    1. bought and outfitted an exploration conda, including that 7A fuelscoop. did a short goodbye-visit to the local RES in my cobra. upon returning, instead of switching to the conda, selling it. that was roughly 30 mio down to loss of selling modules.

    sounds more like a normal effect of trading on a well known route. if a commodity is sold, demand goes down, which refreshed every 11 minutes in a rate down to population, state and other factor - and the price is adjusted, if demand is lower. so, if other players are trading on the same market, price will go down fast (most notable around CGs and on routes given on "best route" features of third party sites) i have not seen once the price going down when i was the only player trading in system and not trading above the rate demand is generated.

    so, as we are now discussing words, how would you call it? take my exampel: - i like to fight others all in stock eagles - i like to fight in srvs around planetary settlements - i like to drop into various chats that i have a 1 mio bounty on my hand, and will be in that and that res at that time, so anybody is free to hunt me down.

    please don't go there. it will destroy your enjoyment of the game. i know exactly what i'm talking about, as i financed my first exploration conda by robigo runs (the very, very original ones, when longrange missions where introduced frst .... even before those don't get scanned missions!). i sold that conda later, when i got the message you won't ever be able to launch a sidewinder from it as a shuttle to planetary surfaces. i rebought it later, and took it to a jaques CG, than exploring the upper and downer regions of the core. a travel that brought me elite in exploration. but it just felt wrong, that i didn't used my DBE for that final weeks to elite in exploration.

    this is not how it is working. if you used the exploit on, let's say, a G5 kinetic resistant shield generator blueprint, all G5 kinetic resistant shield generator mods are gone, but not all your modding you have ever done, and not even all shield generator mods - your low power enhanced shield generators, for exampel, would be unaffected. so, those who are loosing "their whole modding" will have used the exploit on every blueprint they ever used. which wasn't required for testing the exploit at all, or for bug reporting it, even not for trying whether it really works.

    generally there is no need to mine in a RES at all. you get some better spawn rates, but you'll deal with pirates a lot (a bit less in high security systems with system security around). mining in a RES i usually make more from bounties, than from mining... so i generally mine outside of RES, but also rarely outside the bubble. even if some remote systems make great harbours for a miner. last week i mined for a CG in the pleiades region - visually stunning out there. there is for exampel an uninhabited system close to sol, with the spooky light of a white dwarf, and several gas giants with pristine rings of all kind, lft 65 (i think). and a lot of high paying industrial and high tech stations "next door". when i played more central of the bubble, i always went mining there. now i am mainly based at the edges, and there are a lot of pristine metallic rings around.

    that's not exactly true. what is happening are 2 different things. a) all outposts spawn above each other. i have not seen once missions spawning several ships or skimmers above each other or in the same instance. b) doing a scan on any of those outposts ends all missions. i like those missions generally, but i don't like that spawning above each other. so i started taking missions going to different systems (not in quince, in quince you can only get missions for quince itself, due to the remote nature of the system). still a single scan in any of those systems finishes all misions at once. this also don't happen with other missions. still, i think the difference to getting-G5-rolls-with-G1-materials is miles, lightyears. anyone who has seen the exploit being done knows that what you had to do was only possible in a timed and deliberate manner.

    actually no. who used the "G5 rolls for G1 materials"-exploit could not have been in any doubt about whether that was an exploit. while those who use mode-switching to stack missions (part of robigo, which worked basically the same as quince to some extend) got a "not in the spirit of the game" from frontier, but als a not a "this is an exploit". my personal assumption is, that "you can switch modes at any point you want" is simply of higher value. as for the weird effects of procedural generated missions (robigo, draconis, quince), it isn't that clear whether it is obviously an exploit for a player (exploit=using a game mechanic in an unintended way), while the G5-rolls-for-G1-materials exploit was obviously an exploit when used. just speaking from my own experience with quince: when i came there (for longrange passenger missions) shortly after 2.1., i directly reported the scan missions as an exploit (as the spawning of several assets above each other where obvious to me as not working as...

    depends if you know what you do going from and returning to station, and whether you keep to mining outside of res, which i personally do. this build is second best mining ship, beating condas, cutters and t9 at mining CGs: https://eddp.co/u/TcGQ4PsX mines aren't necessary. it is shieldless though, so only use it if you know what you do. i personally run a shieldless clipper (which is very safe due to its speed) as an alternative to my mining corvette (which is the only better miner than above python). if you want to play a bit more safe, fit only 2 medium mining lasers and 8-10 active collectors, and put a shield in there. you can take a class 2 refinery and a class 3 prospector, or a class 4 refinery and a class 1 prospector - i prefer it that way. so, alternative build: https://eddp.co/u/NFposY63

    that's pretty much my experience from a all railgun DBS. clean drives allows 1 shot more before overhaeting (4 instead of 3), while manouvering. generally not worth the trade off for me.

    i personally have to say that plasma slugs are very nice to have. in effect much better to handle, than either fitting undersized fueltanks or to scoop manually to the point. you usually just need those one or two jumps on a fixed maximum fuel level, and waiting for fuel to burn (as jumping in and out isn't always possible) isn't as ice, as to press the trigger several times, especially as explorer build don't use a lot of fuel per hour. as for mining lasers - a higher jumprange of ~ 0,2 ly won't get you out of a no-way out situation, a mining laser might do. on the other hand, as we are travelling in a group, it might be enough to have a few of us with mining lasers, and most probably it won't be necessary at all.
